Mine doesn't need a full service yet but I'm picking up lots of tips by watching your great videos.

I started using drip wax (from Silca) on brompton recently. Saved me from constant degreasing process (especially in the winter). And hopefully the drive train will last longer. Best of all, I do not need to worry about dirty chain staining my clothes and home. Not only the waxed chain does not attrach dirt but it can be wiped cleaned with a microcloth in seconds. Just after a couple of minutes wiping the chain looks like degreased and regreased.

I was surprised at how much flex you could generate just by pushing on the saddle with your upper body. Also, what is the function of the rubber ring that you slid on to the top of the post, just below the saddle? It looks redundant to me.

I got down the wrong path here in the United States and ended up in mud and clay and I was forced to spray off my Brompton to get it out from under the fenders etc., I stayed away from the hub or I tried to as much as possible. What will I need to grease

I just got my A line this week, love your brompton content! They are not just for riding in cities! I used to have a C line but sold it and decided to get the “budget” version as I want the low maintenance hub! Hoping I can have mine for 10 years at least to justify the cost 😂 I daily commute 50 miles per week and it’s great to see one so used as yours still going strong! 💪🏻 I love your frame it looks like it has a lovely patina to it!!

Looks great and as I have said before I like the idea of keeping a bike going, that's sustainability. Whether it is economically viable is another matter but irrelevant if everyone is happy. Nice 😊

Not sure I'd bother with this, but the Scrowave spring is a very worthwhile upgrade. At first I thought it was a bit of a waste of money, but after a few rides I started to appreciate it more. It's a subtle change. I'm just on the soft/hard boundary and went for the soft. Thanks for pointing it out, Paul.

I received one of these in yellow in the mid 1980s, the best christmas present I ever received. Looks brill after restore.

Maybe its over the top, but 10 years between special services and the clear enjoyment that you get from your bike makes the upgrade look like extremely good value! Well done to Brilliant Bikes for giving the bike the "as new" feel, here's to another 10 years!

The downside for most folks is cost, so would have been useful to know what that was. Must have cost you the best part of £1k? Hinges are a neccasary maintenance item if they need doing. A firmer block can be had for £20 and is a worthy upgrade to improve ride. A titanium triangle will cost about £600 plus labour, so is not really worthit for most folks to just save a bit of weight. Glad you are enjoying it though, over the top and unnecessary bike upgrades are addictive!

I used Militec gun oil on the hinges, a few drop each year. I own a B75, no sign of wear yet; I am living in Japan so fold 4 times each day, 5 days a week for 20 years.

Another really interesting video, Paul. As a Brompton rider it is just so good to see and hear your very honest views on upgrades you’ve made to your P6R.

Your videos pop up on my feed every now and then... and it makes me remember what a life changing bike this is and how much I love my little Brompton, but also that I haven't ridden it in a while... I walk past it in the garage and 'ting' the bell and think 'next weekend'... 🙏

Does the handle and the front bag pull fit and work on the G-line ?

I have changed the original rubber spring to an even harder, but still rubber one from Joseph Kuosac, to make the Flex as small as possible during the ride. I have seen versions from wood, which may function even better? My Brompton is now much lighter than the Original 2019 SuperlightM6LXBrompton. Finn. Denmark

Where is the review of each bag ?

I just bought my first 20" wheel folding bike the other day (second hand with stickers removed, no idea of the make, but it seems very solid), in part because train travel with non-folding bikes within Canada is rather limited and it was a total pain to break down my larger touring bike (well, a XC-turned-monster-gravel-dropbar bike) into a bike box each way during a 10 day trip last summer. I was thinking of putting thicker BMX style tires on the bike, but do you think that would slow me down significantly?

Looks great and glad you are pleased with it. I did my bottom bracket this year. After I did the Hebridean Way there was a bit of play, not complaining after nine years. The Shimano one which is metal, from Brilliant Bikes, is far better than the standard Brompton one and far easier to fit. Look forward to seeing your new wheels

Good to hear you are even more happy with your Brompton, if that is possible. And interesting to hear you are replacing the rims. Is there any choice of rims? I’m planning to replace the rear hub from SRAM 3 to Wide SA 3 speed and will replace the rims at the same time. Btw I’m planning to ask you to do the supply and fit if I can’t find a local supplier .

Lovely bike! Nice to see one that's been down a lot of (sometimes bad) road lol. Mine is a C6 high handlebar and black lacquer and I have the tele seat post. It's only 2 years old and lives in dry Los Angeles so it has a pretty easy life haha. The only mods I've done are Brompton/Cateye battery lighting and Continental Contact Urban tires (oh, and the smaller chain ring), and that's all she needed in my book. It's a brilliant bit of engineering and very fun to ride, and I can toss it in the back seat of my car if I'm going anywhere interesting. I love it. At your recommendation, we bought the TIParts suspension spring for my wife's Brompton. Note that this comes in two grades: light for lighter riders <70kg and heavy for heavier riders. It does what you say: the rear end feels better integrated with the rest of the frame and small pavement irregularities/cracks/bumps feel much smoother. Overall vibration up through the seatpost seems much lower. Of course it will not handle large potholes but nothing else does either. We feel this was a worthwhile upgrade to our bikes.

Most of the world is still riding round on V brake, 26” wheels with 3x6/7/8 gearing, excellent for round the world touring bits available anywhere

I tried the Land Rover APB many years ago and I was not impressed. It seemed heavy and sluggish so I hope that the TSR is much better. The New Series rides fabulously but the price! I have an old Moulton Standard but the steel components make it hard work to rise. I hope to upgrade it eventually.

I wish I can have my rear triangle and front fork changed to titanium. The issue will be the the paint job. I own the Brompton Nine Streets edition so, it's a little troublesome trying to change a few things here and there. Stil, it's a great bike.

Bought a $3000 emtb for my son. I stare at hiding next to my ti minivelo. The beautiful simplicity of the minivelo, finding flat roads, riding busses, and trains. ..lol
