    I've just been reading about the Red Sea crossing in Exodus 😂

    • @arizjones
      @arizjones Месяц назад

      And how do you think that event translates and applies to your walk with God today? For me is shows that when it appears there is no hope, and no way out God will make a way if I trust and believe.

    • @regsidebottom3177
      @regsidebottom3177 Месяц назад

      @arizjones Ephesians 2:8-10 King James Version (KJV) For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any man should boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them. ( Ie, HE won't force his will on us.) The word 'should' in this verse indicates that we have the freedom to choose and is also an encouragement to do the right thing. 'God hath before ordained', to me, means that He provides the way first, whether we believe that He has, or not. Our faith is not a condition as to whether He will help us. We just need to respond with the faith we have been given. I am still learning 😌.

    • @arizjones
      @arizjones Месяц назад

      @@regsidebottom3177 'God hath before ordained' just means He knew before you chose to follow Christ that you would choose. Because he is omnipresent (present in all places at all times). He doesn't always provide the way first. As Joshua entered the Promised Land did the waters of the Jordan stop before they stepped into the raging flood waters? No a step of faith was required. Did Jesus heal the woman of her bleeding problem before or after she reached out to touch His garment? The Centurion's son was not healed before he had the faith to go to Jesus. Our faith is not always a condition, no, but often something is required on our part. He gave people the Ark, but you had to get on the boat to be saved. Belief in Christ (faith) is a requirement for your salvation. "Whoever BELIEVES in Him shall not perish but have eternal life", John:3. The belief part is required. And taking steps in faith makes the road appear in front of you when the path was veiled and hidden before. I'm not talking about "works", but the sea didn't part until Moses held up his staff. A step or act of faith. As you said "For by grace are ye saved through FAITH". It isn't faith until you act on it. The book you are reading is an account of events, but these events also paint a picture of our walk with Christ. Passover is a picture of Jesus sacrifice, and that sets in motion them being set free (our being free of sin and the grave). The Red Sea crossing is a picture of baptism as Paul tells us in Corinthians 10. The walk in the desert is a picture of following God as immature Christians, who need to be fed (manna), and the walk is dry and not all it can be. The Jordan River crossing is a second baptism event, where we are baptized in the Holy Spirit and we are allowed in to a place with abundant fruit (fruit of the Spirit), and we start taking territory for Christ, leading people to the saving grace of Christ. The Place of the Crossing, at the Jordan River is the same place that John the Baptist baptized Jesus and Jesus received the Holy Spirit and things changed drastically. That place exists in our walk too, but many fear the "giants" and stay in the desert in their walk. We all are still learning as you said, and that will never stop until He comes again and all things will be revealed.

    THE TRUE BELIEVERS Just don't know where, where to begin When earthly kings surrender to this world of sin. To walk the walk, talk the talk, truth is Heaven on earth is one stairway That can't be bought. The price is paid, we believe that our God reigns, The true believers stand on every word You say, The true believers made alive in Christ today, This is how we survive and where we mean to stay. The true believers. You've had enough, all you can take When your river of tears Runs into an ocean of heartbreak. He'll be your moon when your sun goes down, Fire for you if ice is all that's on your ground. When your music has died, And silence is the sound, The true believers stand on every word You say, The true believers made alive in Christ today, This is how we survive and where we mean to stay. The true believers. So if you need to call on a friend, He's there for you right until the very end, His love is alive forever and amen. The true believers stand on every word You say, The true believers made alive in Christ today, This is how we survive and where we mean to stay. The true believers.

      100%. They (and to a lesser extent, Matt Redman) revolutionized worship music. Hillsong, Elevation etc owe their existence to Delirious. But it also almost makes me sad and jaded, because when the record labels caught on that Delirious was a hot seller, suddenly the “modern worship genre” became all the rage and everyone was trying to copy Delirious. So many worship songs sound the same these days. But Delirious was SO fresh and different at the time.

    This is one of those albums that made us go crazy. We would sit around braging about who was the best musician in the band. For me, it was Sticks, I was so stuck on Sticks, his drum play was crazy. I can still hear my mother saying, "Turn That Shit Down." The 70s is, without a doubt, the absolute greatest period of music hands down. In any genre! PERIOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
