I first heard this song in the early 90s when it was rotation on Muzak in retail stores right after the 4 disc box set 25 Years - The Chain was released. I coudn't justify spending $50-60, and never found a used go over your own way 45 at the local vintage record stores. I was pleasantly surprised when the Dance came out. I still have the disc somewhere.

The "Berry" pronunciation is not universal by any means. I was born in Duxbury and have never pronounced it "Ducks-berry". Some people do, but it's not a rule. And please, please: if you are from elsewhere, do not feel compelled to use non-rhotic pronunciations. That accent is slowly dying off, and nobody will be offended if you keep the "r" in.

I remember this as i was growing up in New Jersey! They completely framed Rubin Carter!! Bobby Dylan knew and told the story in the song "Hurricane " like his good friend Joan Baez. Mr Dylan wrote meaningful songs🎉🎉🎉

I've heard the top of a bottle of soda called a pop top or non screw top beet. He's southern and they call soda pop. I never heard pop tart. As far as your other question it's both.

Hurricane. My favorite song by Dylan (and Levy). Powerful stuff. I'm happy they've decided to ditch the first/slower version.

Does anyone know who's in the video for the song? I'm curious to know who those guys are. Are any of them actually the people who sang the song?

Back in 1978 I was a dj in Cleveland and stations music director . My job was sending the stations weekly play list to major record labels to insure that we got the latest releases and albums. Vinyl albums as were the 45's. After Rumors was released I received from Warner Brothers records a single but this single was the size of an album. In the center was a picture of Fleetwood Mac. The song was Silver Spring. I listened to it and was blown away. I played it on the air the next day during my 4 hour show. We were flooded with calls from listeners where can we get that record. Also I had many calls from other stations in the area asking where we got this record and how do they get it. I always wondered why Warner Brothers never released it as a single in 1979. Rumors topped Billboard album chart for weeks in 1978 and Silver Spring would have been a great single to release in 1979. I still have Silver Spring on my personal Playlist to this day. It's one of Nick's best songs.

I used to hear Siver Springs on the juikebox in my favorite beer joint in 1977, one year out of high school, and thought the name of it was "I Don't Want to Know." So I bought Rumours and was like "where's the song?" LOL. But someone kept playing it at that bar so it couldnt have been too obscure.

Thank you for clearing up a confusion for me. When people spoke of Silver Springs being on the Rumours album, I didn’t remember it. Now I know I was right. The song wasn’t on the original, but was on the remastered version. Whew, this Boomer isn’t having memory issues after all.

Silver Spring, Maryland is a suburban city outside Washington, D.C. Near Bethesda and Chevy Chase. A working class town. Montgomery Blair was the biggest High School. Arch Rival was BCC (Bethesda Chevy Chase).

They’ve been on my Spotify play list for years. It’s too bad Spotify rips off the artist and they only get 1 cent per 1000 streams. Speaking as an R & B lover Boston made me respect rock . Thanks for the work you do.

Rubin from what I heard from those who researched his case was said to be guilty as hell, he had the shotgun and a .22 cal pistol, they disappeared the night of the killings. the shotgun and .22 german pistol were the type used that night. People tend to take Stevie's side, but it was a toxic relationship on both sides that was going to end eventually. Their real relationship was beautiful from a music perspective. I don't think Stevie ever got over Lindsey.

Silver Springs is one of my all-time favorite songs of Fleetwood Mac. I'm definitely a STEVIE NICKS fan. I have most of her cds. (and only 2 of Fleetwood Macs)
