Hold on. He did similar things last time and things were just fine. Then Biden took office and within a month his policies sent the cost of building materials to insaine highs. Every lumber yard in the US was packed with lumber it could no longer sell because Biden wanted wood imported from Canada. Ask anyone that works in the timber or lumber industry. Then the cost of food jumped by a 1/3 during the next year. Let's wait and see just how wrong these negative predictions are. I for one, can't wait to see manufacturers return to the US ,the jobs it will create and the lower income people of our country gain the ability to move into a middle income situation .

Hey James what would you advice for someone who is not an native English speaker (me) to get started on medium and start earning. The only niche that I can talk about is p**n, fap etc. Should I stick only to a niche or should I explore it later ?

I had a new 2017 Wrangler and traded it 120k km and 4.5 years after purchase for 74% of original purchase price. I don't know who's buying that but it's mental and can only go down. Some things about it were well executed and somethings about it were atrocious. The seats on that year didnt have quick releases, and instead were bolted straight through the frame. 15 year older Dodge minivans have quick release seats and yet their cherished off road vehicle exposes seat bolts to mud and debris. The infotainment system was the worst of 2017, there was no button to link bluetooth, you had to navigate voice commands to link bluetooth. Theres no easy way to clean debris out of the rear subwoofer. The door hinges protrude out the side of the vehicle and get painted with rocks. The 3.6 pentastar of that generation was woefully underpowered for the vehicle and it was paired with a transmission and aerodynamics to match.

Interesting update. I have just left the friend of Medium program and reverted back to the basic level. I have been very sporadic over there of late, it did feel it was going very downhill.

I do have a question about Medium. You hear so much about engagement being important. How much time do you spend, if any per day, on the platform?

Thanks, this is great to know Medium is starting to pay more to their writers. I saw somewhere the current CEO said that to him, the platform isn't about making money. It's about sharing ideas and stories. But, the reality is for most, if you're going to take the time out of your week to write something of quality, then you need to be compensated for it. It sounds like Medium is a viable leg for an "author business" in 2025.

RUclips tends to be a longer term proposition in general. 3-5 years is my guess to gain anything significant on average.

Your video and graphics are so clean and crispy. I usually do my talking head in a little floating circle but used to do it more like you. I will go back to that except maybe in shorts. I use OBS and Davinci Resolve, are you using StreamYard or something? One of my slight remaining struggles is the green screen in OBS. I'm on Linux so the NVIDIA Studio is not available.

I learnt something useful. Most other videos about Medium that I have seen do not mention about creating publications. Thanks.
