About 1 1/2 long to get a hold of and keep the rod in during rinse.
Is this safe to use on hair that’s never been treated with anything. Never been dyed, chemically treated etc. is it safe to use?
??? The preference is that the hair has never been treated. The product is specifically meant to be used on hair that still has chemical residue/damage from previous treatments, it will not do anything to hair that is perfectly healthy, and is perfectly fine to use. And even then, hair that has been previously permed or treated needs to be within a certain time frame to even be considered damaged. If you got a perm 2 years ago, none of the hair on your head would be considered damaged by the previous perm. The solution only affects the hair that is sticking out of your head, so the hair that has grown in the past two years, is completely unaffected by the perm solution. The avg male growth in 1 month is .5 inches. So after getting a perm you have .5 inches of healthy undamaged hair. That's why they say a perm only last for 4-6 months, cause by that time your hair has grown about 3 inches. In 2 years your hair has grown about 12 inches, and unless you had it treated in those 2 years that's 12 inches of completely healthy hair. The easiest comparison would be getting a scratch on your skin. Only the outer layers would be affected, and the inner layers are perfectly fine and healthy.

My son is wanting me to try this at home for his hair. Is it too hard for someone to try at home or could I mess up his hair really bad if I tried it at home?
Young people hair can be tricky with perms , You will need to buy all the supplies too. I personally would just pay a professional to do it for them . I don’t work on my own car I take it to garage.
Where did you get those rods and clips?
Basic small roller set rods probably available at Sally’s . The clip I had to order from over sea’s . I have the clips available $5 + shipping
Will the curls look better if the hair is already curly?
A perm would resize the curl pattern loser or tighter depending on size if rods used

Forward if they weir bangs , or fine fragile hairs for less tension . Back if they weir brushed to side or back , more volume in front
Are you ONLY using the number 1 olaplex diluted? You said the olaplex treatment with number one so I am not sure if that means multiple numbers or just 1?
Yes #1 olaplex with water . If you feel hair is in need of conditioner after perm is completely done , you could use #2

Only if that brand of perm says it’s ok . Generally room temperature with a cap is good. Maybe an extra 5 minutes if needed.

1-3 yes it will enhance volume and movement . The sides and back will collapse In and be flippy , the top will have more lift and volume. On pattern 4 be less aggressive with the texturing . Maybe gently Channel cut instead of soft sheer

When you use olaplex no.1. Do you wash the hair before you put the perm solution? I never did that way so I want to know how to use olaplex with perms.
Hi , yes I use as a pre treatment to build up strength. I do rinse it out , then perm. Use a Middle step between neutralizer . Mix 1# with water according to directions

#1 with water again. If it’s firm curls you can use #2 after everything is all rinsed and done . Matrix BIolage raw acid milk rinse is nice after a perm to . Closes everything Down and helps with Oder

Carver texture tool were the perm rods used. It looks like they were extra small size . They are no longer manufactured. We do have medium and large size available. At Modernedgesalonsystems.com
