What kind of review is this?
What kind of comment is this?
You introduced two drill sets. As comparable as you can, so what do the other set of drills with more power, more expensive, fit as a comparison?.
@@michaelescalera8746 point of reference, so if you're wondering how the less expensive drills compare to more expensive ones...figured I'd throw in some other ones to add perspective.
@SomeGuysGarage First of all, I appreciate the response to my comments. Thank you for the clarification.
@@michaelescalera8746 Welcome, hopefully helpful :)
Good grief man, what did you torque those bolts to?
To their yield strength? :D
So what is the actual differs t in the be battery itself
Not sure I understand the question?
Wow, looks like snake oil.
Pretty close lol though it is a surge protector and has a tiny tiny bit of filtering.
Great Video, your correct about this handheld Style being the best Design. Great idea on the Lumens Test but, what is the Light Color Hue or Kelvin rating? 5,000 Kelvin is the best for Repairing things. Dewalt unfortunately is usually “ Johnny Come Lately “ I already bought an Aftermarket that was twice as bright as the old one and it has another Flash light style Lens on the End Cap with a Hanger hook. What is wrong with dewalt not getting these upgrades though of and out on the Market. Very, Very Frustrating. Your Amazon Link to purchase doesn’t say if it’s the Type 12 or Not ? Thanks 🙏 for your Time Spent.
They're definitely on the colder colour temp end of things, I'd guess probably 5000-6000k just by eye but have no way to measure accurately. And ya, it's sad that they're slow to market with some things. Amazon should be the Type 12 if you get shipped/sold by amazon. They are no longer distributing the old model anywhere.
There is no power draw from the battery if the battery is not attached to the tool. Therefore, it’s probably good practice to detach the battery when the tool is not required for use within a 20 to 30 minute window.
@@Fred_the_Head I wouldn't say 20-30 min...but more than a few days maybe. There's always some slight self discharge even disconnected though
Dewalt is about to release a backpack, double battery blower?!?!?! OMG I can't wait
20v or 60v? Sounds interesting though :)

How many amp on the dual charger? Just wanted to know before I purchase the 6 amp
Not too sure, I don't have any of the dual chargers to check first hand.
I carry the Gerber Mullet, mainly due to the belt loop. Nice video, thanks.
Ahh, ya, I guess that is a handy part of it!
Just get the 20v don’t be cheap.
LoL watch some of my other videos...I have a TON of 20v Dewalt tools, including a dozen different drills and impact drivers.
I see this is a year old yet very informative. I recently made a couple of purchases that came with 2 DCB1104 chargers. They're 4 amp and also have 2 stage charging. So basically like the black 6 amp you've shown but only 4 amp. I was wondering your opinion on them.
The DCB1104 is the replacement for the DCB115....both 4 amp chargers but the 1104 has the newer 2 stage logic which should extend the life of the batteries slightly. I have a couple of the 1104's now and they would be my recommendation over the 115 today.
@@SomeGuysGarage Thank you sir !
DeWalt doesn’t publicly disclose a detailed, universal breakdown of their model numbering system, but here’s how model numbers like DWHTTR510 can be interpreted: 1. DW: A standard prefix for DeWalt products. 2. HT: Indicates the product category or type of tool. In this case, “HT” refers to a hand tool. 3. TR: Signifies a sub-category or specific feature set. Here, “TR” likely stands for a tacker or stapler. 4. 510: Represents the specific model within the sub-category. For DeWalt cordless tools, model numbers typically look something like DCN681B: 1. DC: Stands for DeWalt Cordless. 2. N: Indicates the product category or type of tool (e.g., nailer). 3. (No sub-category in this case.) 4. 681: The specific model within the category. 5. B: Indicates the tool is sold as a bare tool (no batteries or charger included).
@@mikeszyszka823 wow, this is the best breakdown I've ever seen of the model naming!
There's no getting around it, a real power conditioner is going to be around $600-2800 dollars.
Oddly specific range...but ya, if you want more conditioning (ie. voltage stabilization) you do need to spend way more.
No mention of what the XR is?
Used to stand for eXtended Runtime and they put it on their larger size packs, they did a rebrand this year and it's now used on the powerstack and powerpack batteries. Generally is there to indicate their higher performance stuff (both tools and batteries).
Had the info I needed. Thanks
Welcome :)
I do live in Canada too. It’s the worst country so far for vehicles, machinery, any metal equipment which are subjected to its weather. To the point that even inside your house, like door laches tools in bags, etc… they go rusty if you don’t treat them. I learned hard lesson by neglecting my vehicle and not rustproofing it, after some years, the jack points side of frame literally fell off like a sand. It was a big mess and finally the vehicle made its way to junk yard. It’s a big investment in a long run if you take care of your vehicle by rustproofing every year. It’s just a price of couple pack of beers anyways. You doing a great job here. Whether the vehicle is new or old, it needs to be protected from this awful humid/ street salt and it’s elements . I recommend to anyone reading this Not To Neglect you car like i did.
You're entirely right! Up here in Canada we get a lot of salted roads and lots of swings in temp/moisture/precipitation and things definitely rust if you don't take care of them.
is there a trigger lock like the 20v
See 5:59 in the video.
I have always wondered how the brad nail part of this tool works. Likely doesn't work well based on what you have shown
It can only do up to like 5/8" brad nails too, which is fairly useless...not sure where I'd use a brad nail that small.
when you slide the battery into the charger does it lock?
There's usually a small "click", it's not fully locked in to the point you need to press a release, but there is a detent you pass when it's on the charger properly.
Great video, today I went to the store and purchased the two pack of the DeWalt 5ha batteries which are being sold for 30% below regular price, which I thought was an excellent deal. After watching your video I went out to the shop and measured the batteries the ones I bought are just a slightly taller than the old ones, that means I've got the new upgraded ones. After discovering this I found out what a great deal I got thanks for the video. By the way I chose DeWalt power tools just because of the excellent batteries this company makes.
That's great to hear! Enjoy your new 5ah packs, even with the latest releases that Dewalt has had and the rebranding of some of the line up (the 5ah are no longer labeled XR), they are still the best bang for the buck when it comes to runtime and performance.
@@SomeGuysGarage I went back out to the shop to take another look at my new batteries. Yes the new batteries don't have the XR branding. Another great tip, THANKS.
@@TOONMAN200 yup, definitely the latest, if you look at the top of the battery where it connects, there should be a date code stamped on them...I'd be surprised if they weren't made in the last few months.
You miss the main point of these pliers. They are engineered so that the more torque you apply the tighter the jaws grip the nut/bolt. You could literally apply torque only on one handle with these, ie no need to rely on hand squeeze to grip the nut. Designed in such a way means they are torque directional and to be used properly should be be turned over when going from loosening to tightening and vice versa to take advantage of the auto grip tightening feature. I have a full set of these and they are fantastic and full value because there is no other pliers that has the fastener grip increase with torque feature which is more than just an increased confidence feel. With most pliers when approaching the slipping stripping point the jaws are under pressure to expand which exerts force to open the handles. This is force your squeeze must counter. This nuisance, which can be problematic in tight spaces, is erased with this design. It's really a brilliant bit of kit.
Yup, I've learned even more about these since then...though there is a "squeeze" factor involved too. If you check out my latest video comparing them to cobras/raptors/alligators you'll see I touch on the torque when pushing thing.
Just bought one but doesnt turn on That work with a deffer battery?
These must be the 60v batteries, you can't use them with 20v packs.
The DeWalt hot glue gun isnt the greatest either.
They should make a workbench glue gun that sits on a powered base which maintains a temp just at the melting point and is only cordless when you pull it off the base to use. Removing from the base should automatically boost the temp. Heck, a super capacitor can help with the sudden boost and from there it could get away with a single tabless 21700 cell built-in. Return it to the base between uses and it should always be ready during a project. Like a good soldering iron you’d want it to have a timer for standby/sleep and power off with a button to wake it up if you haven’t been actively using it. If they made one like this I would definitely have it on my bench but I might as well use corded otherwise.
@@emmettturner9452 that would be a really cool idea. Isn't the "Dewalt" glue gun not made by Dewalt but one of those chinese brands?
I think so. “Melif” or something. DeWALT makes a heat gun but I don’t think they make a glue gun.
@emmettturner9452 yeah, I have their heat gun, did a video not long ago on it...but ya, think @funkfpv did one on the melif glue gun.
@@emmettturner9452 they do make a glue gun, I have it. The melif one is cordless and DeWalt is not.
I tried one of those already, but I still don't have enough space for it, was hoping you might have something next level :)
Vise grips lol
Great video . At 1:40 You weren't sure what the little black wire is for. If you clip the handle down, you can lock it with that little wire so it stays closed if it's in a tool box or something(Not sure if it would wear out the spring, leaving it latched for long term storage).

I disagree with you regarding PWM being not noticeable in person. I got the newer one, and the PWM flashing makes it virtually unusable in LOW setting, and mildly annoying in HIGH setting.
@@catsspat interesting, I don't find it a problem...but you're not the first person I've seen say it's bad
Did you do a fireblock? I have my rigid foam up and framing done, I'm confused on the fireblocking issue. Wondering what you did?
Did you watch part 5? It shows more of the insulation details. The stack up though is 1" XPS foam glued to foundation, small air gap, 2x4 framed wall with roxul R14 in the stud bays, then drywall on top. Rim joist area is 1" ish of spray foam for sealing and then R22 roxul in front. Ceiling has 3.5" safe n' sound filling it in. I didn't do any fireblocking specifically, none of these walls are load bearing and everything foam is covered with drywall/roxul which met code here with the inspector.
@ yea I watched part 5 but it was a while ago. Thanks for the info!

Did you have to use a breaker bar on those lugs before hand?
Nope, just normal lugs torqued to 85ish ft-lbs.

Cool, not a common brand over here, had never heard of them.
the clutch on that DCD800, there was another channel where they were testing the clutch on these high end drills, they don't work.
It technically works, but the settings are pretty high torque....had a friend with a DCF601 that also had clutch issues due to assembly missing a piece...so obviously some issues with them.
Great video well done. It's fun to see the progression I look forward to seeing the rest
Thanks! I'll post probably another video or two this month as I open more so keep an eye out :)

I've ordered online from them a half dozen times, quite happy with them and often have good sales on Dewalt/Milwaukee/etc. Them and mississauga hardware are some of the better not-big-box-store online retailers in Ontario.
I just bought an ART POWER BASE 4x4 and because it felt so light I opened it up - and it is almost identical to this - but it has no capacitor - just an MOV for every second power output. also no pcb - just exposed connecting wires. their newest model has 2 usb ports on the front and sells for over $400aud
