The claim that CompE only learns the intersection of cs and ee is not true. Assuming cs and ee have 0% overlapping, CompE would take 50% cs and 50% ee. However, cs and ee do have overlapping. CompE can take more than 50% cs and more than 50% ee. Plus CompE may have multiple concentrations that lead to software or hardware focus. Don’t forget that ee is not 100% computer related, CompE is.

I feel like they're forced to take easy courses the last couple of years for the other engineers to be idolized, also the degree is very diminished, and most of the students end up with a life they weren't expecting, I think it's a joke the world is putting in less 17 years focused individuals, and to make the other engineering majors feel superiors as if they were actually really mature and smart to chose their specialized fields

Computer Science grad student here. I can't really take the monotony of Web development as my life's purpose, so I'm currently looking towards other areas I can do professional work at and Embedded Systems always had something that attracted me. Maybe it's my morbid admiration for Assembly or my fascination with C (as it was my first programming language), but something drags me towards it and this is a great introductory video. I'm not going to lie and say I didn't feel scared about how hard it can be, but it looks like it's worth a try for a person that appreciates algorithms and enjoys creating logical solutions to virtual problems. I will be studying this course next year. I want to be a Embedded Systems engineer. The skill to design and build computers is just so fascinating. I just have one tiny question though, I want to design and build a computer from scratch, like a laptop level computer from scratch. Is that possible with the stuff I will learn in the course.

The one thing it left out is job stability, which is horrendous unless you're government. We are not constantly building and designing aircraft like the automotive industry. Programs/projects happen in waves and every few years when a project is complete, people get laid off. Nature of the Business. Half a year ago, you uploaded a video on the CE "cage" and how it can be difficult to career hop between either software or electrical engineering, causing many to be stuck with CE-specific jobs. I was wondering if you could discuss something similar with mechatronics engineering, aka. "How capable are you of career hopping with mechatronics?". I wanted to pursue this degree mainly, because I still wasnt sure what engineering degree to go with and I thought I could leave my options open with this one, but now Im afraid I might end up not landing any other jobs and HAVING to do a MT-specific job, such as in automation.
