(1 or 2 year old Theory Repost of mine) --------->The "Pendulum Timeline Loop" theory (is what I called this theory of mine at one point) I had a theory/what if about this but basically there isn't an original timeline per se but various timelines that get created and altered by the two speedsters, Barry And Eobard. Essentially, since both were altering the timeline back and forth. There were drastic changes but I believe that those changes were already created beforehand. The changes to the timelines being just a rehashed loop of many look alike loops. My theory being that the Barry that we saw up until Season 9, is the Barry that gets created by Eobard with his own interference by changing the timeline when the Barry from 2024 stopped him from killing his younger self. Now, in doing so, Eobard created the Barry that we know but then it became Barry's turn to create "Eobard" but that didn't happen so it was forced to happen to maintain timeline integrity. In season 9, Barry and Eobard (An Eobard that is rather unknown from what point in time he was pulled from unlike the Eobard that was fighting 2024 Barry) were pulled in this timeline for a specific reason and that being to maintain the fixed point of Nora Allen's death. Due to these new conditions we can infer that the Eobard that we see in Season 9 is NOT the same Eobard. He is not the same Eobard that came from the portal from 2024 "Red Skies Vanishing" when he battled Barry and decided to kill him as a child upon finally knowing his name. Here comes the big timeline pendulum, the essence of my theory: (that many considered to be a huge leap in logic and I can sort of agree) *This Pendulum is already swinging* - Season 9 Barry replaces the 2024 Barry that "disappears" in the fight with Reverse Flash. The same one that is witnessed by (potentially not) 2014 Barry. - Season 9 Eobard replaces the 2024 Eobard that battled the Barry from 2024 that disappears in the fight to follow him in the year 2000. - Season 9 Eobard has no point of clear origin from where he got pulled from. (As far as we know) - Season 9 Eobard also has Gideon by his side to constantly tell him about the future at an inconsistent time rate per changes. - Season 9 Eobard is working with the future that 2024 Eobard (Season 1 Eobard) created when he created The 2014 Flash that eventually becomes S9 Flash. *This and the following are the most important aspects of the pendulum, please keep these in mind* - Season 9 Eobard (the one that got pulled into the year 2000) after being stuck without any speed after being outsmarted by S9 Barry. Decides to create the Flash in order to return. He sees that the Particle Accelerator is set to blow up in 2014 which fits his plans quite perfectly and so... he decides to wait. (Notice that this S9 Eobard has been *pulled* into the year 2000 and doesn't have the same context as the S1 Eobard who came from 2024) - Season 9 Eobard sees that the future is changing and now the Particle Accelerator is set to explode in 2020 which confuses and angers him but ultimately... he decides to not meddle with certain aspects of the timeline that much since he doesn't know the cause and effect that altered some of them in the first place. - Season 9 Eobard, plans to return to the future in 2020 and eventually lures Barry with the premise of Barry getting the second chance to undo all of Eobard's actions, all being loosely similar to how it happened in Season 1. - 2020 Barry sees Season 9 Barry warning him to not save his mother and so, he complies to not do so. - 2020 Barry returns and attempts to stop Eobard from leaving but is unable to do so in time. (Note: Barry doesn't have Eobard as his mentor. Harrison Wells being the original one. Technological advancements may be a factor of things going much faster since there is a 6 year time gap. Barry potentially not being on as brotherly/friendly terms with Oliver/Green Arrow. There being potentially no Team Arrow. Oliver potentially being exposed as a vigilante and Oliver living to be 86 years old and not dying/becoming the Spectre, and etc.) - Somewhere in the middle of 2020 Barry's journey (This Barry being potentially more on the solo run, since Cisco and Caitlin are probably not a part of team Flash) he goes into the future and ends up creating the Reverse Flash by saving a crowd that was for Eobard to save. - *The Crisis and the intense battle with a Reverse Flash begins!* They both end up travelling back in time in the year 2000. As Eobard finally figures out his name and as a last ditch effort to outdo him completely, he impulsively goes back in time to kill Barry's younger self. - 2024 Barry replaces Season 9 Barry and is witnessed by 2014 Barry. 2024 Barry returns back to his own timeline, but still has to stop the Crisis (The Multiverse doesn't get reborn/reset like it did with the 2014 Barry that started his journey) - Thanks to The Flash's sacrifice, saving the multiverse (his disappearance). Dawn, his daughter, becomes a hero like the Flash and eventually fights an earlier version of Thawne. *Our Pendulum's swing* - 2024 Eobard replaces Season 9 Eobard and realizes that he is forced to create The Flash 2014. - 2024 Eobard is fresh from the fight with Flash from 2024. He has a clear point of origin and is now meticulously planning a way for himself to return to his time. - 2024 Eobard has Gideon by his side to constantly tell him about the future. - 2024 Eobard is working with the future that the Season 9 Eobard created, causing changes and creating all the events from Season 1, and consequently, all the way to Season 9 to happen. - 2024 Eobard sees that the Particle Accelerator is set to blow up in 2020, which doesn't fit his plans and so... he decides to hastens the process. - Season 1 happens and so on which leads to the creation of S9 Barry. *The Pendulum* - S9 Barry/Flash is forced to create the S9 Eobard/Reverse Flash - S9 Reverse Flash is forced to create 2024 Flash. - 2024 Flash is forced to create 2024 Reverse Flash. - 2024 Reverse Flash is forced to create 2014 Flash. *The Endless Swing* -2024 Flash is witnessed by 2014 Flash- - 2014 Flash witnesses 2024 Flash - 2014 Flash eventually becomes S9 Flash - S9 Flash is witnessed by 2020 Flash - 2020 Flash eventually becomes 2024 Flash - 2024 Flash is witnessed by 2014 Flash - ... *The Alternate Future Flash* A reboot of the series. Same Barry, but different Flash. We follow the Flash that got created in 2020. With the title of "The Other Swing" would be dope because why not😊 It containing the "original" timeline created by Season 9 Eobard. Which includes: Mostly solo Barry, with no team helping/quarter backing him. Barry fighting a more vicious and faster Zoom that has already stolen the speed of a lot of different speedsters (Season 2/ 2015 Barry doesn't exist to stop him nor open a breach to Earth 2) Original Savitar who isn't another version of Barry. Fighting a rogue/time remnant of himself after fighting Original Savitar. Being wounded and being abandoned, this rogue Barry goes to the future and creates a suit, but is being stopped by Barry. Remnant Barry escapes into the past and kills the Original Savitar, creating a fixed point. Barry leaving a message in 2024 "To not trust Barry* referring to the remnant Barry that escaped into the past, that gets lost and found in a different timeline. Eventually. Barry manages to trap the Remnant in the Speed Force. Eliminating him from this timeline forever. (This is tied to an old "Three Savitars" theory of mine. Three different timelines.) Fighting S9 Eobard that gets away successfully and finally goes home to his time. Barry is forced to fight a timeline remnant of Eobard that doesn't know who he is. All this time. Original DR. Wells assisting Barry in any way he can, given that he isn't a speedster. Barry dying in crisis and giving himself speed in the first place as the final episode. SIDE NOTES: The timeline changes are slow overall. Hence why they aren't immediate in most cases. But basically it loops back and forth. That is my take on this. So, basically... Season 1 Eobard that comes from 2024 from his fight with Barry, is working with the future that Season 9 Eobard created and altered here and there, that he( Season 9 Eobard) in turn also works with the future that Season 1 Eobard altered/created and so on and etc. (Basically looping) (some of you may notice that in this theory, Season 9 Eobard has not been erased. How could he have been erased if Eddie didn't die? In my opinion this being one variation of potentially many. But I put it like this to connect some dots and cover some unexplored plot holes. Things like, what the original timeline is/was. But in my opinion that being just a previous timeline out of many. If you find this theory bogus. I don't mind it. But it's the only thing that makes sense in my mind for some reason. Even Eobard himself says in Season 1, that he, himself, comes from a future.
