Once again proof of Apiary Vicinity Mating flights. The FALSE theory of Drone Congregation Area Mating flights is ridiculously absurd. Honeybee queens/virgins are in fact the poorest fliers of the hive and could never outrun local drones from her own apiary nor colony to make it several kilometers to meet gentlemen drones who starve all day flying together in circles in the middle of nowhere waiting for virgins to make long journeys to avoid inbreeding. Instead of course, The drones seek out virgin hives, drink open nectar in strangers hives. They make their hive to hive searches all at once before and after noon each sunny perfect day. We can all observe this activity in our own apiaries. Thats how they avoid inbreeding by basically robbing other hives a little each mid day . If drone congregation areas existed we would see masses of drones leaving in the morning and not coming home until the evening all at once. Instead we all see drone frenzies around noon in swarm season causing commotion at the entrances for about an hour or so on sunny days.

Excellent video! I’ve never used a queen excluder ( restricter) and I only use deeps, the bees always chimney up through the middle like a pyramid. Once the there’s a belt of nectar across the the top of the brood the queen never crosses it, natures excluder. I let her lay as much brood as she wants, each to their own on this subject there’s always different ways too keep bees.

    • @johnbeemansaunders6567

When the old queen leaves the hive with some of the colony abut half , this is swarming, But with a new , virgin queen , she will go off just for mating flights and come back to the hive . You also can get a 3rd kind , a cast , this is when the hive is so big some virgin queens fly off for good , with about 1,000 Bees quite a small amount really, From a nuke as in my video this will not happen as there is only one queen cell I’m it . Hope that makes sense quite a lot to learn but you soon get the hang of it all , happy beekeeping John 👍

Well John , pretty much another season put to bed . Took very little honey , but successfully doubled colonies to 8 , and consoled myself with that , while my chums had a great harvest . Next year I will give God a good laugh by telling him my plans concerning the bees . John , after cleaning up boxes and frames , painting my brood and super boxes and buying what I think I need in the Thornes sale , I think that I will spend some quality time re- running your catalogue of posted videos from the beginning, not just to pass the time but to see what I missed .My sanity will be preserved by the occasional bee club event and the weekly meet for cake and tea with my bee keeper chums on a wednesday Thats it then John .
