You’ll have to be very careful and lob it when casting…. Could risk breaking your rod

There is a 2oz pyramid weight attached to the bottom on the mainline, and that anchors it. This rig is for fishing piers where the water is choppy and there are a lot of people. The bobber marks where you are fishing and floats the leader to the surface so you just have to make your leader as long as you want to be deep

I typically lay them out on paper towels and let them dry for 12 to 24 hours and then I put them in bags and freeze them

@@paulanderson2464 There are are fish in most river mouths/piers on Lake Michigan, Erie, and Lake Huron. Sometimes because of wind direction changing it can effect water temps and move the fish around. This time of year if the water has good visibility after a rain it should be ok to good

It’s never our intention to harm them unless we are harvesting them, and if we believed one to be injured to the point where it wouldn’t survive we would keep it. My favorite are the white trout trap one and 32 ounce jig

I like okuma sst 10’6” medium light rods for 2oz or smaller. I’m pretty careful when I’m casting 3-4oz sinkers but I’ve never broken a rod doing it

@@purefishinmichigan4212looks like those are rated for 1/2 oz lures, so you do cast pyramid weights with it ?

@almirmakan yes…. I’ve casted 2oz sinkers with no problems. I think the 3/4oz rating is for continuous use of a lure. I try to keep my rod 45 degrees to my line just to mitigate risk of breaking the rod.
