this is a very informative video thank you very much sir
I appreciate it!!!
How do you stop the auto attack system? Many times I might do 5l and try to link into 2M but, I get the next attack of the auto combo instead.
@@Localpref416 It’s a matter of timing more than anything. If you press the buttons too quickly one after another, you’ll get the second auto attack. Go into training mode, and try to leave a little gap in between 5L and 2M, and feel out the timing for when it works and when it doesn’t. I had this same problem when doing 5L into 5H on Gran, and it just took a bit of adjustment to the right timing.
I'm gonna need a link to that "Blocking is a social construct" clip lmao
@@HelenaRedgrave ruclips.net/video/sD5bN79rtO8/видео.html Right at the beginning of the video!
What about reversal backdash, is there any way to overcome this other than delay meaty?
@@HocVince It will be character dependent what you can do about a wakeup backdash, but yes, a delayed option is the simplest thing you can do to deal with it. This is a hard callout though, and loses to really fast buttons that can snipe the startup of your move, or a wakeup throw. Always important to keep in mind the rotation of options and what loses to what.
Just watched a few of your videos, you’ve been able to explain some concepts to me better than the top viewed ones recommended on the subject! I will be applying these concepts more often moving forward! Thanks for the great videos!!!
I appreciate that a ton! Glad the videos were helpful to you. :)
Based music choice
safe jumps are hard lol
With a bit of practice, you can do it!!!
This is a channel I’ve been trying to find forever!! Most sources just give a vague description on what something does, but not really how it’s applied
I really appreciate that! Providing content that actually shows new players these basic concepts, and how to use them, is a huge part of my goal.
I was having some trouble wrapping my head around the concept of okis and meaties until I saw your video. Thanks for the help!
Shoutout to the random beatbox insert in here. Azel is an animal :P
I lost my mind a couple months ago watching those edits of him, they’re hilarious LOL
You actually made me laugh with a Family Guy clip. Instant sub.
Your guides are so concise, well edited, and easy to understand! I kind of knew somewhat what frame traps, meaties, and safe jumps were but didn't know how to execute them.
Thank you, I really appreciate that!
After seeing so many guides on safe jumps this is the first one to actually explain what it even is in a way that makes any sense. Great vid
Teaching how to actually use training mode to practice stuff is so helpful. Great vid
Forever learning, I only have so much time to play, and my wife is already ahead in terms of match played.
wanna learn more
*promo sm* 🌹
i get it's a 101 but you could at least mention that many characters have moves specifically crafted to be an okizeme like happy chaos has a short window to reload/focus millia is an annoying piss of shit brisket can leave a timed yoyo
I appreciate the suggestion. Most of what I make is intended to be a *literal bare bones beginner* level of perspective, and these are techniques applicable to pretty much any character in the game. It's also intended to get people trying things out on their own characters. Going into a bunch of specifics would, in my mind, change the perspective of the video, and it's intention. But, I'll be sure to keep that in mind in the future.
@@ThePantsuPanda yeah I totally get it, what I meant is to only mention it exists and not go into any details maybe give 2-3 examples very shortly, I think it's cool to make the person watching aware there's more to it than shown in video to get them interested for one and to make them aware the concept gets more indepdth
Your videos are 🔥, you have great editing! Can't wait to see more from your channel
I'm having the opposite problem. I want to know how to force players to mash buttons.
lmao nice name
lmao nice name
thank you so much!! i kept losing my turn because my offense kept losing to mash, so this helps a lot!! hope you make more!!
what the fuck the transition into Extras at 1:32 is so hype
Thanks!!! I really liked that little edit. :>
This is so good! Thank you!
Thank you!!! :>
I love that thumbnail lol
Um.. i DID pay to block, actually! I play +r baiken
Banger vid honestly good editing
As a fighting game newbie these videos are reallt helpful!! They are super easily understood and funny to boot c:
Glad you liked it! That's pretty much what I'm trying to do, present concepts to beginners in a way that's easy to understand. :>
@@ThePantsuPanda you nailed it then! Can't wait for more videos c:
This is awesome!! I wish i had this video like a year ago when I was more of a beginner 😅. These are all very helpful tips and I hope this vid can find its way to the people who need it
Thanks! I greatly appreciate that. :>
Just one thing to add: Safe jumps will lose to frame 1 invincible wakeups, such as 1. frame 1 parries (like GGST Baiken's Hiiragi, MBTL's shields and a lot of parries in GBVSR) because these parries will lock you in an inescapable cutscene as the attack triggers them, and 2. invincible start-up command throws (like MBTL Kouma's and GBVSR's Ladiva's), due to them being "jump attacks that are safe enough to BLOCK after". Otherwise, great video!
best thumbnail ever
This video was really good, so I'm leaving a comment as a ritualistic practice to summon more views from the algorithm
Greatly appreciate it!!! All hail the algorithm! 🙏
Great guide and love the edits, i desperately need to learn how to do safejumps
Daamn, Tysm!! this is the best explanation for Frame traps I ever seen, new sub!
Excellent video. Hope you'll blow up (IN SUBSCRIBER NUMBER) soon !
I like the mgs2 clips tbh
Thanks! I just recently played through 2 and 3, so it was definitely on the mind when I was making this video LOL
Great video !
There's this really annoying piece of muscle memory I've accidentally developed on GG Plus R where (when playing Sol) and my opponent is knocked down, I run straight at them and would subconsciously use gun flame. But often the momentum of the run makes me get too close to the point the attack whiffs at point blank. I think I've lost SEVERAL matches because of this and it'll never not be funny seeing Sol miss his attack on a guy lying on the ground at point blank range because they somehow end up behind the hitbox.
LOL, yeah, that definitely sounds like it'd be frustrating. As someone who started with Strive, meaty gunflame seems like such an odd choice. But I've seen people do like, meaty gunflame YRC in Xrd before!
@@ThePantsuPanda I do think its worth noting that projectiles on wakeup are very VERY strong. Theyre completly safe options that can net more complex oki setups. Take for example the million ways Venom in Xrd can do ball setups. The Oki can get so complicated that it then becomes the mixup and thats more or less what makes up the whole setplay character archetype. I love fighting games lmao 😅
worth noting that Anji and Baiken can counter safe jumps
Yes but this video is covering broad terms for clarification purposes. Not an in depth look into any particular game itself. Although a video about unique character mechanics and ways to counter them wpuld be cool
ROCK PARADE STARTS RAMPING UP
small correction: in strive there are 3 frames of landing recovery after you use a jumping attack, so if a safejump feels like it should work, and then doesn't, that is why.
i really hope this video blows up, this helped me alot
Bridget 101
This is so well explained and edited!
Thank you! That's definitely my goal, simple topics explained well for the beginner player.
So if we talking bout strive i'd advice you to set opponent to throw on wakeup. 2 frame startup. Great video overall.
I'm not the beginner audience for this video but great job on the editing, got a sub out of me
Thanks for the sub! I greatly appreciate it. :>
Really fun and interesting video hahaha, hope u get more views this is really well done
Thank you!!! I greatly appreciate it. :)
Yo why is this so underrated??
Appreciate it! If you're a new player and want to learn some more stuff, feel free to check out the rest of my videos! They're all me explaining things from the perspective of what's important for a new player to learn.
I only play fighting games occasionally and super casually(arcade mode, occasional match against a friend) so this is a great tip! I love gbf so i do want to spend time learning this game
Love the edits m8! Keep up the good work!
Thank you!!! Greatly appreciate it. :>
