Some Space To Grow
США
Добавлен 14 мар 2024
Hi there! My name is Nick and I garden in the foothills of the Colorado Rocky Mountains in Zone 5B. I have been growing things my entire life in tiny apartments all around the United States, but three years ago my fiancé and I purchased a 1947 cottage on a corner lot where I finally felt like I had some space to grow. Join me as I turn my little cottage into something truly beautiful. Whether it's a new must have plant, tips on how to grow flowers and vegetables better, or steps on preserving your harvest I hope you learn something new along the way and are encouraged to find some space to grow no matter how big or small.
Harvesting Shallots, Planting Fall Garlic, & Beet and Radish Seedling Update / Some Space To Grow
Hi gardeners! Today I'm doing a couple of garden chores. I'm harvesting shallots, planting fall garlic, & giving you a beet and radish seedling update! I was fairly happy with my shallot harvest especially because I harvested a lot of them early just to have room to plant my garlic. Hope this inspires you to get some fall crops in your garden beds, and that you all find some space to grow! Happy gardening!

Hope you all get out ...
Training, Pruning, & Propagating Climbing Roses // Planting Hardy Geranium in Grass Path Garden Beds
Просмотров 397День назад
Hi gardeners! Today I'm training, pruning, and propagating climbing roses. I'm also planting hardy geranium that I grew from bare root in the grass path garden beds. Last year I lost one climbing rose over the winter, and the year before 2, so I'm going to take cuttings of everything to have backups and to bulk up the display. Hope you all enjoy and find Some Space To Grow :) #rose #climbingros...

Can't believe that this was in perfect working condition and it fits in my garden so well. Truly love garden thrifting. Hope you all enjoy the sound of the fountain and find some space to grow!

Cleaning Out Raised Beds, Sowing Radish and Beet Seeds, & Harvesting Carrots
Просмотров 54314 дней назад
Hi gardeners! This video was recorded August 7th! Today is going to be me doing some garden chores. It's time for me to clean out my raised beds, sow radish and beet seed, & harvest carrots. I already have lettuce seeds going for the fall garden, but the beets radish and carrots are the last few things (other than garlic which will go in the ground in a few weeks). Are you sowing anything for y...

Planting 7 Hydrangeas in the Front Stone Garden Bed & Replanting the Spent Container in the Back
Просмотров 93214 дней назад
Hi gardeners! It's HYDRANGEA DAY! Today I'm planting 7 hydrangeas in the front stone garden bed & replanting the spent container in the back. This front garden bed just looks messy all the time except for spring when the muscari is in bloom. I think that planting hydrangeas will be much easier to maintain, deal with full sun or part sun, and look beautiful all summer long. I'm planting 3 sweet ...

Hi gardeners! Today I'm replacing brown boxwoods in the front hedge with ones I got from Walmart Garden Center's Clearance Section. This was SO SATISFYING! Something about a brown boxwood in a hedge is just so annoying. I also added a few boxwoods around the fountain. I'm also planting my first yew in the garden and I'll explain why I think you should should too. It's so nice having a few addit...
Expanding the Proven Winners Incrediball Hydrangea Hedge / Planting My Favorite Plant in the Garden

I'm so excited to be planting my favorite plant in the garden! Today I'm expanding the Proven Winners Incrediball Hydrangea Hedge. The Incrediball Hydrangea is my favorite hydrangea by far. It's an improved version of the Anabelle Hydrangea, which used to flop under the weight of it's massive blooms. The blooms on Incrediball are just as big but supported by very strong stems that have never fl...

Today I'm taking you on a garden tour of the Children's Learning Garden at the elementary school next door. I truly think they did an amazing job this year. It is run by parent volunteers and I wish I had something like this at the schools I attended growing up. I feel like children need to be exposed to gardening in schools as well as other interests, and they should be taught that you can mak...

This harvest includes blackberries, squash, cucumbers, zucchini, a pepper, cherry tomatoes, and the first big tomato of the season. Hope you find s...

Thanks for the lesson on planting garlic. I may need to try it.
Beautiful! I cut some of my lime light hydrangeas, and I have them in a vase. I think I'll try this. Thank you for sharing!
I've never had success with rose cuttings. I can't wait to see how your cuttings ends up! 🤞🤞
$1500.00 are you kidding? $73.00 is more like it. In the front yard? Your inviting vandals.
If you look into cement or cast stone fountains they are very very expensive as they are very very heavy. I'm not sure why a fountain in the front yard would invite vandals but if it does they'll be on security camera lol.
@@SomeSpaceToGrow We have a cast cement fountain in the back yard. We purchased it twenty years ago new and it was expensive. Crimes everywhere are on the rise. Including vandalism.
I adore incrediball I have one in my back garden, my favourites are the paniculata hydrangeas
Haven't lost any shurb's or boxwoods I think its because i put compost and organic fertilzer in every hole. I have a brand new garden starting from a blank slate
Do you use compost? If back fill the holes with compost you will see a difference. compost will help with your soil. Im in NC and have have clay and I use compost and organic fertilizer everytime i plant and it makes a difference.
The sound was like you were pulling a wagon with treasures. I liked it
Love the tour. You have a peaceful way of delivery
Juniper
What a score! I love the fountain. 👊🏾
I loved the tour of your neighborhood. The homes are magnificent. Please leave that water bottle home next time!🤣🤣🤣 all kidding aside, I knew you had no idea it was trying to take center stage. Thanks again, I’m a gardener and working on my massive 1 acre 1 day at a time. Love your channel❤
Maybe the teacher loves your garden vibe to start and finish their day after all the kid energy..😉
What a steal Nick! $60?? Wow
Good luck on your climbing roses Nick! My Eden has grown leaps and bounds since last season.
Love it, Nick
Thank you 💚🙏🏽
Thank you!
Thank you for watching 💚🙏🏽
WHAT A SCORE!!!!! Kudos to you guys for getting this amazing fountain...and Popeye's too! Definitely your win-win day...
I’m so jealous! I love your new fountain, lucky you. Enjoy!!
Please keep the fountain forever ❤ on this place ❤ it looks ❤
The fountain is so perfect in the garden
No way! That is the $1200 fountain I've been circling at my local nursery all summer trying to talk myself into buying it. WOW! Congratulations on the amazing find!
I have 3 boxwoods in the front. Super healthy but I hate them they take up so much space and id rather fill with something else. Also Hibiscus are awesome! I have one recovering from my dog rolling around on it.
There has to be something causing you not to have sensation in arm and foot perhaps a nerve is pressing. I have thyroid problem, have you seen an Endroconolist?
My primary care took more blood work and my thyroid levels were back normal so she thinks it may be some type of autoimmune issue going on. Had more blood work drawn and have another appointment Thursday where hopefully they’ll tell me more 🤞🏽
The sticky white looks llike caulking thats used around windows, that they probably used to seal where pieces meet. Perhaps to prevent leaking. Do you get many things on auction site?
I do! I’ve purchased a lot of planters, a few fountains and lots of furniture from online estate sales
Love that fountain!! And such a good price 👍🏽❤️
Love the fountain. It’s beautiful I knew you got it for a steal. That’s awesome. I don’t have a fountain but I do have birdbaths.
Love your fountain.
Nice score! You need a stronger brush. I have a cement bird bath. I use a pot scrubber brush to clean it. Looks great
That's a really nice fountain 😊 I don't have any, but you have inspired me to purchase one.
That fountain is GORgeous!!!!
Wow ok wow 😲
I want one but they are very expensive
OMG what a beautiful and tranquil 🎶sound 🎶and view❤.
Oh my... I'm so happy for you.. love that fountain ❤.
Thank you! 💚
You are so lucky 🎉
I picked up that fountain so fast and told my partner hurry up pull away 🤣 felt like stealing!
Dang! What a deal! I need to look at auctions more. 😊Maybe baking soda to help clean it? Enjoy!
I’ve found so much on online estate auctions!! I’ll try baking soda! That’s a good idea 👍🏽 💚
Im so happy for you. That fountain was meant for your home.
Thank you 💚 I agree! :)
Awwww I’m so happy for you guys! Thanks to the garden Gods! A solar light shining on both the fountain and your urn would be super cute, too!
Thank you! I agree! I want to get lights that go inside the fountain like my one in the back next year, but the urn does need a light! :)
@@SomeSpaceToGrow thanks for your videos. I’m from San Francisco originally and just moved to the South (GA) on 1/6 acre - your videos give me SO MUCH inspiration!
I remember watching my mom and grandmother process food for the winter. Happy memories....and the veggies were sooooo good...we always had a huge garden in the South...
5 boxwoods lost for me this year!
Thanks for sharing.
Thank you! 🥒
So great to find a Colorado Gardner! Do you know the best way to get earwigs out of the Dahlias? Ive tried soaking the heads in water and that gets most of them out, but everytime I give some away, there are surprise visitors living in them! I grow Dahlias just so I can give them away. Such a beautiful flower!
OMG I did have that problem last year. I used Sluggo Plus this year and they are down probably 90%. It's a bait that is best applied to wet soil. Truly helps so much!
Absolutely beautiful ❤️
Thank you so much!
Thanks for sharing. Think I'll try some fall carrots
Beautiful you are such a sweet pea 💗
Feel Better❤
I'm glad you are back and so sorry that you are going through this. I had an overactive thyroid that's normal now and controlled with meds. You are an amazing person. Thank you for sharing this video, and it's so kind and thoughtful of you to make the flower arrangements for your neighbor. 😊❤ Sending prayers to you for your health and healing.
Mine was underactive! But now my last blood tests just came back normal ughhhh. Now they are thinking autoimmune... I swear doctors just guess sometimes lol! Thank you!
