Here's a little thing nobody likes to talk about. A little bit of noise is a thing called dithering. Dithering is a trick that can be used to make an image LOOK SHARPER. Yup, less noise can actually be perceived as softer. Shoot ISO 3200 in bright sunlight, then shoot the same image in ISO 100 and I guarantee if you exposed identically the ISO 3200 will APPEAR sharper, even if you zoom in and see more visible noise in shadows. Feature film cameras like Black Magic and Arri shoot at ISO 800 native for best image results.

Editing a photograph is where a photo becomes art. And by editing, i mean pre and post. A good shot taken to look exactly as the photographer saw it without any post can be appreciated for the effort and setup, but is that how we enjoy art? It is supposed to be art, right? The line should be as flexable as possible, and i think we all feel that deep down just as long as the artist does not steal other peoples works (AI).

I used my first winnings to buy a canvas LV and in less than two years the wallet was cracked/broken in multiple places and the store refused to repair or replace it. I don't know what kind of resale value such junk could have. I ended up donating it...well, maybe I might buy a fake LV from kislux but these designers/robber barons don't even think about taking another penny from me.

I've been doing auto ISO and it's been a great technique. I can appreciate the higher ISO as well. Makes good sense. Especially if trying to do landscaping. Plus, it's less worry for the shooter.

I hate when people say they don’t want a certain purse because everyone has it well everyone has a hole are we gonna get rid of ours because of that? Everyone one does something different with their kislux for example their style, your style will set you apart.

Yes! Taking more photos is key, with whatever you've got. Sound advice. Often, our priorities get misplaced re: researching gear vs time spent actually using it. That said, I don't think we should feel guilty about aspiring for better gear, because better gear, if well chosen, means more keepers and time in the field more productively spent. I've been shooting regularly for about 7 years, and I have much enjoyed getting better and better cameras and lenses, because they just work better, and result in more images worth keeping. It is such a pleasure to shoot with a camera that, a) has very good autofocus, b) is image stabilized, c) has a quality electronic viewfinder so that you can immediately see whether your exposure is OK. I think everyone who is semi-serious about photography deserves all 3 of these features, as they result in a reliable tool that allows you to make the best use of your time and energy in the field, to more often capitalize on opportunities, and bring home good images. But yes, point well taken -- getting out there is the most important thing!

To overcome the problems associated with camera bags, I’ve adopted a one camera, one lens philosophy. I like to be unburdened by excessive gear, so this approach works for me. Do I miss some shots? Yes, but minimal gear forces me to slow down and get the best shot I can with the gear I have on hand.

There are just different usecases. I like the mindshift rotstion series. You have access to your main gear all the time. The old disscussion between elevated back or normal back is rly ole. Most backpack producers have different lines of products. And it is mostly a personal preference. I hate the elevated backs. Makes the backpack more bulky with less space and worse weight distribution (just for me)

Haha , I came to same conclusion but after over an hour long shopping in camera related shop. The Seler lady suggested so much different bags, and backpacks and stuff, and there where hardly no place for food and warm clothes in them. Which I consider necessary when hiking. So I reduced photo gear to one small camera with Ibis, one lens, strap clip and that's it. My backpack is always ready for travel :)

While super niche, a big factor for me when choosing between aps-c and full frame were specific lenses, the swirly bokeh of helios 44 lenses are hardly apparent on crop sensors, but really shine on full frame And then there's more specific lenses like sony's 100mm STF, which feel too much like a telephoto lens on aps-c, and the only wider alternative is on a different mount On the other hand aps-c lenses are way cheaper and easier to get, so for most cases I'd say aps-c is enough

Bang on. I use my Klattermusen sac with a medium cube. Leaves space for clothing etc and it has daisy chains to affix tripod if needed. So much better to carry. The usual comments in favour of read entry bags is the mud as you say and ease of access. But wait - where are people photographing? A mangrove swamp! Surely, look around and find somewhere drier and place it there. On the speed of access issue - usually the scene isn’t going anywhere fast and we are always being exhorted to slooooowww doooown. So why the obsession with speed? First find a sack you can carry all day then find a cube or internal padding for however much kit you need - then get out there

If you spend enough time poking around the Net you will find that 20/20 vision can resolve 300 PPI at a viewing distance of 22.5 inches. Do the math and round the numbers off and you have 36Mp. Gee whiz, didn't Nikon have a 36Mp camera at one time? Of interest I still have files from my first digital camera, the Olympus C2020. Do a bit of moderate AI upsizing and a bit of sharpening and you can actually produce a fairly good looking 8x10 print from a 1200x1800 Mp sensor.

From an old pro that grew up with Film, I believe anything done is post on a computer is criminal, if you do not explain everything. If you can't get the photo you want in the camera then keep trying. Photoshop and all the other post tools are ruining the photography. Yes you can make a prettier image but own up to how you did it. It is all cheating. Imagine you meet the really beautiful lady and then you see her without her makeup. lol sorry ladies...

Best honest review I have ever seen on camera bags. Thank you so much for sharing. I am so happy that I am not the only one. I use Neopren camera and lens cases in normal backpacks for lightwight traveling, especially on flights. Lens-AID or C-Rope are some vendors for example. I think I am going to use these more often. I wonder if there are also better and cheaper non-camera related options? Camera bags are indeed heavy, expensive and not much comfortable. I own 5 different camera bags. All are good for short trips and nice weather, but I would not want to carry any of these on a longer hike or in challenging weather conditions.

The premise you launch the video is a false generalisation. But I guess that's not an intellectual problem, just the usual ragebait tool to increase interaction, and here am I falling into the trap. I do think if you think it through what do you need and take time to actually try it out in a shop you will found the best bag for you. Everyone has different needs, kit and body thus everyone needs something different. I took my time, and I'm incredibly happy with all3 of my bags, as I have 3 different scenarios. For work I exclusively use a Tenba Axis 24 v1 nowadays so I can bring a spare from nearly everything while it's just incredibly comfortable with more than 10kilos of kit. For casual private photography adventures I have a mid size bag (vanguard veo range 37) and a small (Pentagon Tactical Talemon) and I'm super happy with those as well as I took my time with the selection and thinking through what do I need

Would be interesting to have your thoughts on the following: I’ve been photo-ing for many years, basically shooting anything and everything that looks interesting. I’ve moved up through the ranks of cameras and have a large selection on lenses, probably mora than most. But I rely on the lenses a lot as I’m in a wheelchair. I can’t move around as well as most to get the best position/angle/depth so I have to rely on the most suitable lens length to get what I want, or at least near what I want. Now I often miss the perspective I’m after, -having to rely on a flatter look with a longer lens-, but at least I get a picture. I’d be happy to shoot with a shorter length and crop, but I don’t have any cameras above 25MP, so that can be limiting. Ideas?

Simple. The brand. An example: Leica sells their M-mount lenses with a huge mark up, while Voigtlander sells equivalent lenses at a fraction of Leica's prices. Trust me, a few of Voigtlander's fast lenses are sometimes even better than Leica's 😊 It's just that those people who really can afford Leica M series cameras will not pay attention to cheaper alternative lenses. Because they ask themselves "What's the point? I have a 10 million dollar savings in my bank account and why should I cheap out with those silly Voigt lenses?" 😂

I once made a nice photo using the built in posterise art filter in my Olympus Pen F, by playing with the colour temperature to change the background from a dull cream-brown colour to a pale blue. This was all done in camera. Understanding how to play with colour temperature can sometimes be very useful on occasion.
