Call the snake cliff
Can you just go to these shows and walk away with a reptile
This may be a long shot because the video is a few years old, but do you have an update on these guys? I saw some of these at a reptile show yesterday, and am trying to learn more about them. I was curious how yours were doing.
We do have some more videos on our channel showing successful breeding. They’re featured in our reptile room tours as we still keep them.
Please put it in a more appropriate enclosure this is just sad
This is a very old video, check out the current enclosure in our latest videos 👍🏻
@ oh thank god
I have a boa constrictor but I want to feed him another than mice , what alternative can I choose ?
You can try rat, chick or quail depending on the size 👍🏻
Tartars need a long and cold hibernation to breed them.
Yes we are brumating them this winter in the hopes of successful breeding next year
Would a 20gal long be fine for these guys?
It depends on the dimensions, a 30cmx30cm base can hold 1-2 geckos but ideally you want a 45cmx45cm base which can hold approximately 5 geckos
@ its a 76cmx30cmx30cm
Can you keep 2 female bird poop frogs in this?
Yes! 😁
@PredatoryExotics Thanks! Is it any specific subspecies like the Vietnamese bird poop frog and south American bird poop frog or does it just apply to them all? :)
Yes probably 2-3 bird poo frogs but not really big enough for Vietnamese mossy frogs.
@PredatoryExotics Awsome! Also are they noisy? Because I can't really have much noise in my house?...
We don’t have any personal experience but if you had multiple males they would probably call out of competition
Are the hybrids infertile?
Yes they are, most reptile hybrids are fertile unlike mammals where a lot are infertile.
❤
Where else would you find them …… 😳. Great short !
Do you turn the eggs in the incubator?
No you need to keep the eggs in the same position they were laid. The embryo fuses to the inside of the shell with an air pocket at the top and if you turn the egg the embryo will drown.
Finley says it’s Amazing, he loves it! Scarlett says I really love it! Well done Tom, great video.

Thanks to all of you 😊👍🏻
Have you ever seen their habitat? Nothing like it. Thareyi are not found in an arid environment.
If you watch videos of people finding them in the wild they are concentrated around the rocky areas within their habitat which is what we have recreated within this enclosure. They can be found in semi-arid scrubland areas as shown by the climate data for the area looking at temperature graphs and average precipitation. If you meant ‘thayeri’ that’s actually the old subspecies classification and the current taxonomic name for this species is Lampropeltis leonis and not Lampropeltis mexicana thayeri.
A wonderful setup brother. For some reason the notification for this video is the first Ive gotten from you in a long time. I need to check my settings. It is so very clear that you have great compassion for the critters. With that,I can trust your opinions and suggestions in critter care. By its slow movement,Id say your snake is comfortable with you. Another reason to respect your opinion. If money was your only goal, your attention wouldnt be focused on the critters comfort. Much respect to you brother. Thanks for the useful info.😊
Thank you for the awesome comment we really appreciate hearing back from people who enjoy our content. Glad you enjoyed the video, we plan on upgrading so much more as we are always striving to improve our standard of care.
@@PredatoryExotics Ill be watching.😁👍
Sand is okay just round grain sand not mason sand which is square grain designed to clump together. The round grain makes it able to pass thru the gecko in case it accidentally gets a lil while eating
You mentioned fish could fit? Which ones and how many would you say as it doesn't seem like much water would fit
Whats the excitement that drew you to the cage in the first place?
Go bills
This species is very prone to dying for little to no reason.
I'm itching to buy this terrerium for my Damon medius Amblypygi, would be perfect for them.
Woooo!
Great catch boys fast guys ant they 😂
Cool
The area around Kalamáta has many Iurus dufoureius, Εurope's largest scorpion species, it's a pity you couldn't find any.
If u could answer this itll be great but can they eat ants from an ant farm?
I wouldn’t suggest feeding ants to your reptiles unless they are a specialised ant eater such as a horned lizard. Ants can be quite aggressive especially when a predator starts eating them so they have an increased risk of hurting your pet. Some ants can produce an acid as a defensive mechanism also which wouldn’t be good for your pet. Maybe stick to some of the more regular feeder insects, hope this helps.
@@PredatoryExotics definitely helps, thanks
jumping spider??
I remember them being mentioned in Morocco
Yes you can find the same species in Morocco 👍🏻
Ive got the same size tank as you have, people are saying its to small , they say I need a 20 gallon 20 inch long tank to get the proper heat gradient, that the cool side would only get to 83 degrees , so do I need to get a bigger tank or will this be ok for the hot, warm , cool temps?
What uvb and heat bulb should I use to get these temperatures in a 24x18x12 inch glass terrarium
A 6% uvb bulb is best, heat bulb will depend on the temperature of your room but around 50w hooked up to a dimming thermostat.
@@PredatoryExotics I don’t really understand uvb but I got you with the beating thanks for the fast reply, FOLLOW
Im in malaga in the south of spain at the moment and on a walk today i found a chameleon it was so cool
That’s awesome 👍🏻
Damn… I can see why the mantis is such a successful predator, the ghost mantis is scary as hell. If they where bigger we may never have come out of the Stone Age.
I bought exo terra terrarium 45x45x45 and I don’t know what lights they need and how strong. Do they need heating mat in so smal terrarium?
Although they are a desert species they don’t require the strongest UVB bulb because they are mostly nocturnal, a 6% bulb is perfect. As for heating there will need to be a hotspot of around 32 degrees Celsius, a heat bulb on a dimming thermostat would be better than a heat mat.
is play sand safe and can i use it in there enclosure?
Play sand is the only sand to use with reptiles but this species doesn’t come from sand dunes so mix play sand with top soil or just buy an arid bedding of a similar style.
Nice enclosure! When you plant you might wanna break up the root ball so they spread out faster
Thanks and thanks for the tip 👍🏻
@@PredatoryExotics no worries loved the Greek herping vids
Does it not need sealing ? Looks great though
Thanks, because it’s for an arid setup with low humidity it doesn’t need to be sealed
Oh thanks! I wasn’t sure
Does anyone think that a juvenile tokay gecko can live in this?
Yes when tokay geckos are born they are about the length of a finger so this size enclosure would be a great grow out tank, the extra height also is great for this arboreal species.
No annoying "dramatic" music. No annoying loud presenter being loud and annoying. These guys get it
The only hang up i have is the top plastic piece of the exo. Does it pose any issues when lighting or using a heat emitting element? The smallest im getting is 24x18x36 inches. So im supposing the dome im using will fit so as to not go over the plastic.
Yes that can be an issue on some of the smaller enclosures, you have to find a small enough dome so the plastic doesn’t melt. This shouldn’t be an issue with the larger enclosures as they have ample space for large domes.
@@PredatoryExotics in your experience, is it better to group together the uv, heat source and lighting for the plants?
The plants just want the light so LED is best for the plants and depending on plant species will depend on their heat tolerance.
The majority of natural habitat range is lush with vegetation for the most part. Not so baren
7:50 This is the bloody-nosed beetle (Timarcha tenebricosa), these beetles excrete their blood when they feel threatened
Is taking bribes from the Chinese part of our democracy?
Why Tuesdays and Thursdays? Would they not be more likely to eat twice a week if it was more evenly spread?
I would love to see a care video for your wedge snouted skinks? Are they aggressive towards other species?
We have a care guide as well as breeding guides on our channel. We keep them in a single species enclosure.
I just got 2 from a convention. Was amazed I found them. They’re so cute! Would love to see more content!
Ìm going to dulin zoo next week
Well done lads. Nice variety of species in this series. Looking forward to see where you go in the future…. Costa Rica???
We need a 2024 reptile room update. 😊
