    What a crap review, 900 -1200 scramblers are a tourer dressed up so stop going on about the 400 not having the true scramblers touch, scramblers should be nippy nimble and agile as the 400 is, can't say the same about its bigger siblings. I got the impression you liked the bike a lot but was trying to deny it. It's triumphs new baby scrambler not a copy of an old style format.

    Petty gripes that mostly if changed to your liking would ruin the bike. You could always get something else. As for the pillion seat, my pillion is lithe and fit and finds it comfortable. She is thus encouraged to stay so and in any case is not a complaining whinger. So, I’m all right thanks, I’ll keep my Triumph and happy passenger. 🙂

    the 900 cannot be a real scarmbler untill it has atleast 150mm suspension travel , front and rear . so unless there is a 900x version the Scrambler 900 is a scrambler in name only.

    You need a 1200. The 900 is basically a town bike. Plus may I recommend Continental TKC-Rocks tyres. I have owned 2 Scrambler 900’s. I always wanted a 1200xc, but I am too short for it. The 1200x is just a rip-off. I could try to lower the XC but I actually went for a lighter Italian bike. The new bike is only 175 kilos as opposed to the 223 kilos on the 900. Definitely more flickable but I will miss the sound of the Triumph. 😉🙏

    Awesome scrambler! Only thing I'd say is it's a scrambler, part of the original design of the scrambler and bobber style motorcycles is that they're minimalist bikes, so asking for more tech on a scrambler goes against the design philosophy of the scrambler. Really the 900 street scrambler is more of a true scrambler than the higher 1200 Triumph scrambler, with all their tech and offroad specialized parts.

    I've only had that happen to my older non maglock cases when the cases are over 3 years old. I just replaced mine. If you bought the case within the last year go ahead and contact quadlock and ask for warranty replacement. Plastics on these cases eventually warp. One additional note as someone who has almost 2k subs, 500 subs vs 1k subs won't really matter man, just make the good content and people will come. Builds do draw subs but what's more so important is regular uploads and use of tags.

    The mentality that you need a big engined “scrambler” is a clever marketing gimmick to hook the fashion conscious. We on crf300 and Drz400e and even a Husqvarna svartpilen leave the big bike riders way behind in real “scrambling” territory and the “real” dirt bikes leave us for dead. So many people think a scrambler has to be of large capacity and that is just stupid. We get sick of having to stop and help people pick up GS1200’s and triumph 1200’s. Yep if you want to do big mileages on roughing roads then go big! But if you want to do proper “scrambling “ go small and light. There’s a reason triumph “invented “ the historic scrambler and it was Definately NOT A large capacity machine

    • @Nomad_Scrambler
      @Nomad_Scrambler 25 дней назад

      Great point! Please explain why triumph choose to go away from the styling of every other scrambler in the line up with the 400X please

    • @chrro466
      @chrro466 19 дней назад

      @@Nomad_Scrambler the 400x brings back the smaller lighter capacity thumper which offers in reality better off road application, however it should have had wire wheels to suit the off road terrain better. Thumpers or singles are always the better for “real” off road use due to their power delivery characteristics. Hence why all motocross bikes are single piston engines. Triumph have done a great job and I would have been very happy to pay more for this 400x with better adjustable suspension and wire wheels. That would have made it perfect and cleaned up in terms of sales. Always hoping Yamaha bring back an up to date XT 500.

    I had one of these as my first bike and put around 3500 miles on it commuting daily and riding at the weekends in the space of 4 months before I passed my full test and got an XSR900. It was a joy to ride throughout and I find myself missing it often as it had bundles of character. You're spot on about the lack of power and the front mudguard. I'm 6'4, 100kgs and it did struggle to hit 60 with me on board. I think the fastest I did was 68 down a big hill laid on the tank. If money weren't so tight I'd 100% get another one with the 250 engine to commute on.

      I can see why you loved it man! Get me to 1000 subs and I’m going to use the RUclips money to buy the 250cc and turn it into a supermoto style bike!

    Finally nice to see some honest reviews on this bike thanks for taking the time to share, I think they should have stuck to a cable throttle sick of all these fly by wires tbh an the feel from it. That’s my take on it. I don’t think they are as cheap as people are making out it’s still a lot of money to most people. I think what they need to make is a 650 twin with a 360 degree firing order that’s 166kg dry like the old TR6c desert sleds. From in the original period an return to cable throttles shame they didn’t make it a 400 or 500 twin like the original t100c bikes which were super light

      A twin with a 270 degree crank in the 400 would have been proper naughty little bike!

      @@Nomad_Scrambler oh yep deffo I’ll always be a fan of the 360 degree cranks they really roar when you wind them on what they used in the British twins back in the day (my daily rider is a 1967 Norton 650SS on my other channel) I agree though 400 270 degree twin would have been proper fun they should have called it a tiger cub tbh the 400x would have been a more apt name from the past although I wonder if Triumph are saving that for a 125 :)

      Richa gloves, I can’t remember the exact name but, they’re the summer gloves in the retro style. Might have been discontinued because I can’t seem to find them now

    A Scrambler 900 can be a good beginner bike for strong beginners, but it's a bit heavy for weaker beginners. A lighter thumper dualsport might be a better choice. A 37WHP Suzuki DR650 can be shaved to around 320lb curb (similar to a stock CRF250L), the seat can be lowered to 30" or less, and the power can be seriously increased as skills develop.

    • @Nomad_Scrambler
      @Nomad_Scrambler Месяц назад

      Great insight man! I agree with the weight for lighter individuals but, I think it can still be quite manageable! Great to have the community respond with other suggestions

      Really? I started on a 1200xc. Can't imagine a bike as small as the 900 is too big

      @@logangodofcandyReally? How tall and heavy are you? What is your inseam? Can you leg-press more than 200lb? If you're some 5'10"+ athletic/strong guy who has ridden mini-bikes as a kid, do you not think that maybe you might have an easier time of handling a 400lb+ motorcycle with a 30"+ seat height than a 4'11" woman who didn't play outside much as a kid?

    I started and still am on a Scrambler 900 and can´t see myself ride anything else. People ahead turn their heads when you approach, point and talk. It´s just a cool bike that does everything good enough and is fun to ride. I exchanged the stock Metzeler Tourance for some Pirelli Scorpion Trail 3 and can recommend them very much if you drive more road than gravel and dirt.
