The whole scene, not just the transgender part, didn't make sense, rosemary and the professor have lines and lines of redundant text, I particulary don't know how o explain, Guardian HQ has a video explaining the failings and another where he rewrote the scene to fit better in the narrative, though admittedly he does make it so she knows what trans means. But it is dubbed, and basicaly an abriged version.

It's A LOT better, but it still feels kind of in-your-face; on-the-nose? I mean, I'm pretty sure the only reason she was in his office was because Caraway wanted to speak to her about the responsibilities of using her sword, but the conversation kind of trailed off into transgenderism and they never ended up talking about the entire reason she was there in the first place. I dont think the transgender conversation should've been there in the at all, perhaps it being simply mentioned would have been enough. It just took a lot of the run time so it felt forced.

They COULD’VE given this show a lot of depth with showing a sort of message how magic improves the lives of everyone but NOPE! “i dRINK a poTIOn.”

The word "Transgender" still doesn't really fit in a medieval high fantasy world... I dunno... They should've called it something else in HGS.

Yup, High Guardian Spice should be repeat better as a remake. The animation coloring, stories, characters, themes and tones, etc.

Yo, there is even a sutile critic to the modern apathy towards "people who deserves bad things". So, yeah, they were killed, but they also tortured animals. Woah, this re-write is full of good jokes (modern jokes), good nostalgia (classic jokes), good characters, good dialogues and EVEN GOOD CYNICISM. Every single point the actual show tried but failed to have!

I have to say other than the fact this scene make for a better trans representation, with dialogue that sound much more natural, It also kinda fix the secondary plot of Rosemary fixing her sword, as this time if feel more like Rosemary actually curious rather then *"Oh yeah I'm trans btw"*

1:33 damn, that line cut me deep. It brings me to tears that something I’ve said and thought to myself is reflected here, grabbing at my heart and bringing me to tears. Every time I look in the mirror I see someone who is not me, the only thing that is me being my eyes. All I can say is thank you, thank you for showing this trans girl that she isn’t alone.

that was funny, but also kinda sweet and sincere. I think if I could describe Velma with one word, it’d be spiteful. It felt like it hated both its characters and the audience. This was genuinely fun and wholesome and if the show as a whole had that attitude, it would’ve helped significantly

I think Caraway should have dispelled the magic on him as a show of sincerity. Show Snapdragon that he understands the kid better than assumed. Could just be me thinking that words should be backed up by actions though. Great rewrite.

I love how this rewrite doesn't portray Velma as a absolute dick, the fact she was afraid she was being harsh with the "I don't like you statement"

i like how this can be used to say magic can be freeing, and then you could have the perspective like from other people that have different opinions regarding magic and then a contrasting opinion from any character that has had a bad experience with magic saying it's bad and needs to be stopped
