Hey All! So far this is my favorite movie in the series. And yes, I am biased, because one of my favorite dinosaurs is a Spinosaurus. And in this video, I finally found a reason to show some footage of my character in Ark: Survival Evolved, and some of my dinos, including my spinos. Hey All! This is one of those films that is the definition of epic. There were so many things happening in this film that (for a time) I had no idea what exactly was going on or where the story was going. But it all came together in the end beautifully. Hey All! This one was an absolute epic. What's weird is that this movie is still enjoyable besides a large swath of the film involving nothing happening on the u-boat (at least in the director's cut I watched). The ending came out of nowhere, and after first feeling shock, I then came to understand the point of the movie and why it had to end that way. Mike Watches War Films: ruclips.net/video/...

Hey All! This was one of the first movie reactions I ever filmed, so I'm sorry for the noticeably more shoddy video quality compared to my recent videos (I had old equipment I used back then). Anywho, this was such an awesome movie, and a lot of the action in this movie was top notch and not exactly what I was expecting out of a zombie flick. Hey All! Well this is one of the strangest movies I've ever seen, while also not coming off as a wacky or over-the-top film. Thanks for your comprehensive and detailed reaction to this movie. I saw it years ago. A tough watch and the subject matter is rough. I don't have trouble believing in the validity of the suggestion of abuse in the reform system. There are enough witness of past inmates in various similar circumstances to bear the truthfulness of it. Especially in past decades where there was less accountability and no one questioned the authorities. We now know of the abuse of children in orphanages and "reform" schools, the laundries in Ireland, the abuse scandals in the Catholic church, how it was covered up and hidden and continues to be hidden and denied even now. I felt for the defendants in this movie -- yes, in spite of the fact that they killed in revenge. It seemed that they were driven to their criminal acts by the savagery of what they had endured. Which, as the ending of the movie implied, was their eventual downfall and demise. The part of NYC where they grew up, Hell's Kitchen, owing to the pervasive mob presence and influence also moulded them to act in accordance with the concept of payback. Everyone in the film gave a stellar performance. The movie should have won an Oscar.

    Ingrid Toreli is awesome in this movie. She would be great as Raven in a Teen Titans movie or Jinx. Maybe if James Gunn did the Royal Flush Gang from the Justice League animated series in live action, Ingrid would be great as Ace. You can tell she didn’t get hypnotized because the demon inside of her was protecting her.

    The hazards associated with radioactive materials just weren't treatedt as careful as today. You could have a watch of clock with radium painted dials for clear glow in the dark visibility. For real 50s kid fun, your parents might even get you the Gilbert U-238 Atomic Energy Laboratory. Yes, a kids' toy with real radioactive minerals and chemicals for your budding genius to play with. Good times the 50s. I have to agree with your assessment that Carpenter's film is the superior story. It captures a fantastic sense of paranoia because no one knows who the Thing is until it's too late. The 50s film is a straight up monster films playing more on fear of communist invasion than actual alien menace. All the same it has a terrific sense of energy thanks to the dialogue and directing that most sci-fi films of the era lack. Yes, at times the dialogue is unrealistically fast in scenes like the mess hall where everyone is greeting each other but in the action scenes the pacing of the dialogue sounds like people in a no time to think situation. I do prefer the BW to the colorized print. The BW feels more like the arctic than the colorized one, the grey scale of BW heightens the sense of cold which the colorization loses. Thanks for the great reaction and comments on the movie!

    Jack Nicholson got $5 million for 10 days work on this film. The famous court scene is worth every penny. The impression Tom Cruise did of Jack Nicholson was ad libbed. The reactions of Demi and Kevin are real. The guy who played Dawson had not been hired to play him, he was working for Rob Reiner the director on set and Rob decided he could play the role of Dawson. He did really well.

    1:02:24 In the book, that scene played out fairly differently, because the accordion junction between the two halves of the trailer was pinched shut, due to the one half being flipped onto its roof. The movie doesn't even bother to address that junction.... It also bothers me that the entire trailer falls down around them and their rope isn't jostled at all by the parts of the trailer moving around, and perfectly falls down around them as if their rope was dangling exactly at the center and not ... over the same cliff the trailer was falling from Yeah, this movie bothers me in places lol 😅💙💙

    4:56 Yes, there's some tongue-in-cheek handwaving, as the book starts with a focus on Malcolm and his dismissal of the "rumors" of his death. I do believe that, although said to have died near the end of the first book, his body actually is on the helicopter when they leave and Dr. Grant observes the official response to the weekend 💙 Spoilers for the book "Jurassic Park": The second book happens on a different island, because Isla Nublar is bombed and destroyed as our surviving Heroes safely watch from their receding helicopter.

    0:22 I believe Steven Spielberg is on record saying he doesn't like to do sequels in the first place. This movie was him breaking from that preference. If this movie may be used, I think it shows us why. In my view, the characters are missing the sorts of moments that his movies usually have - moments that show us genuine humanity of the characters in ways that we might not anticipate, whether they're protagonists or antagonists. It seems to me that this movie comes off as the "slasher sequel" to a potentially much more worthwhile movie. 💙💙💙 I have some views on how the third movie relates to the above views, but I will save those for the reaction to it 💙

  • @InimicalWit

    0:08 Michael Crichton's book is also a love letter to an older story, "The Lost World", by replacing some of the details with details from his first book on Jurassic Park - effectively a reimagining - that is all but completely discarded for the script of this film. Details of the second book remain, but many of the details were altered far further from Crichton's original narrative than was the case with the first movie. 💙

  • @InimicalWit
    @InimicalWit 17 дней назад

    0:04 Fun fact: This movie swapped openings with its predecessor. In the book, what alerts Costa Rica to the goings on of Isla Nublar (the island in the first chapter) is that some of the smaller dinosaurs, the "compys" attacked a little girl who described them to a local medical officer. Although, the details I used to say the first movie "borrowed" from the second book relied on a more nuanced recollection of the events and it's been too long, now. (The first movie was also released prior to the publication of the second book. It was a tongue in cheek kind of reference.) 💙
