Thanks for checking out the channel. Build videos coming soon.
The ease of getting this mutherfkr off lol.....priceless
Should the bike be up right / not on the kick stand when filling the fluids ?
Dude. Thanks so much for this video. Screwed my clutch cable up like you did - this video helped me replace it really easily. Appreciate you.
You saved me lots of $$$s!
This video in conjunction with the owners manual made it super easy to change the oil on my '03 Sporty. This was the first oil change I've ever done myself and although it took me longer than I would have liked, the video content was thorough and concise. Thanks!
Hi Nolen and thanks for this very helpful video. I could not have done this job without your video post. It all works great but I had one thing that was a little different then your video and that is, the part that holds the cable inside the primary housing only goes on one way as you said but on my 1994 HD 1200 Sporster once you clip the cable in and reinstall the part that has the berrings in it, the part that holds the cable is facing to opposite way. It runs great so does it matter? Thanks again! Rich
6yrs later this video holds up. I loved it. Not like videos now a days where you gotta listen to a million unnecessary things. Well done man. Definitely going to look into your other videos.
I really, like really really, appreciate you taking the time to explain the 'why' or intent behind things like the "1/8 inch of travel". It enables me to verify execution is correct AND achieving the correct end state. I am a bit disappointed you found other hobbies because your videos are the best balance of direction, commentary, and demonstration.
Just trying to figure it out.
Is the 2008 883 xl the same way
This video is great thanks man
great video
The only thing I can say with the deal with it you should be telling people to put the right bolt in there not a metric Bolt
Finally a good video awesome job I put my bike all back together just like you showed thanks man runs great
Great instructional video. You’re a good teacher. And I appreciate that you dumbed it down for those of us who have never done it. I’m 53. Been riding since I was about 10 and never changed the oil on any of my bikes. I will now. You showed us how esimple it is and you did it well. Thanks brother!
Thanks for showing us how. Clear & easy to understand.
Excellent vid thank you. I’ve always had Japanese bikes until now so this was helpful as Harley servicing is somewhat different to Hondas. Btw do you have a video of the primary chain adjustment process?
Great vid. I appreciate u bro
Thank you very much, i just bought my first bike which is a Sportster 1200. Youre video really helped me.
15-40 in the tank. cant believe you havent spun the main bearing yet. the spec in the lower 48 is 20-50 in both holes
Thanks for the video, I subscribed. Keeping video in my library, when I replace clutch plates and obtain a new cable 👍🏼👍🏼
Very good and detailed video on this purpose Thank you! 👍👍
I like your blog, simple. You saved 300 hundred dollars at the dealership.
Excellent video as you nailed every part with good shots and explained it perfectly.
how is that oil working for you? i have used Valvoline racing 20W50 with added ZINC for well over a decade without issue. in engine oil, but was unsure what to use in primary case, all my previous Harleys dripped engine oil on the primary chain, then siphoned it back to filter to engine oil. SHovelheads
Thanks for video
👍 Thank you
Best replacement clutch video I could find. Great job very detailed. Thank you!
I just got my first motorcycle ever. It's a 99 Sportster 883 hugger. I've worked on cars but I've never changed the oil on a motorcycle. This was exactly what I needed to know. Took out any questions I thought I may have Edit: I used to work for Napa and I always recommended the mobile one V-Twin oil. From everything I learned from the old timers it's just worth spending the extra money. You're saving so much as is doing it yourself. Spend the couple bucks get the good stuff
I've got a stripped primary fill bolt. Prev owner abandoned for 5 yrs.. Is there anywhere else to fill it from, ie clutch cover? I'm considering turning the bike on its side and filling into the drain plug.. (it's already drained, so too late to warm it up or take it anywhere). Any ideas appreciated!!
@@mikewmhllc1660get you what they call an “easy out” kit. Should come with some drill bits and a bit that has reverse threads on it. Drill a small hole in the center just deep enough for the easy out (extractor) to fit in about a quarter of the way and turn it out to the left. Should come out no problem. I recommend researching a video or some kind of instruction on the use of an easy out of you’ve never done it but it’s pretty straight forward.
When you change your primary you are also changing the trans too
You the maan❤
Isn’t Rotella diesel oil?
Great video, thank you!
This was the best video I could find of the clutch cable replacement. Well done! I did it first attempt, no problem because of this thorough video… minus my own hiccup with two stripped Torx screws. Thank you so much!
Bro, absolutely awesome video. Appreciate the way you broke everything down. If i attempt any other maintenance on my bike I'll be checking your vids first.
Same.
I have this exact bike, same everything except for seat and windsheild
good step by step explanation brother, this helped out a lot!!
Be sure to always install a new rubber O ring on the drain plug.
I did this and died
Very good instructor you should work for harley verygood👍👍👍👍👍👏👏👏
Just wondering why you aren't filling the primary oil in the fill hole?
Just did the oil and primary on my 05 883 and I used the Mobil 1. She seems happy with it.
this is a great video helped me out a lot! Im no motorcycle mechanic but dont the sportsters need to be leveled horizontal on a jack when doing oil? I think the dyans can be done on the jiffy but not the sportsters
I have this exact same model! It’s a great bike!
Thanks, that was pretty much self explanatory.looks simple, and saves me about 100÷ dollars..
Thank you very much man!it's in time!Спасибо!
They make an oil specific for the primary. Don’t use the 20-50 engine oil because it will get foamy creating little are bubbles and losing its lubricating ability as the chain mixes it up. Just fyi🍻
so what year is this bike ??? 883 or 1200
Excellent video... Greatly appreciate it
Ty łbie źle tłumaczysz
Nice bike! Good video!!
