The PROBLEMS With Tarantino During KILL BILL
I had too high expectations of the film, it was too boring for me. However, I liked the infrared scenes. If the film had been shot entirely in infrared, I probably would have liked it better. - I would have found something else. For me it gets 3 stars, but only because of Sandra Hüller and because as a German I really appreciate her.
Get that tin foil hat on lads 😂
When you make snide comments like DiCaprios girlfreinds are 40 years younger than him, that's an off putting moment. Do you have a problem with consenting adults dating? 25 years old is hardly 40 years younger. Snide comments like this put me off your reviews.
DiCaprio is hardly a grizzled 50 somthing year old. He is 48 and and only looked grizzled when he was in The Revenant. Also, he is not being cancelled. Why would he be. He has not done anything wrong. His current girlfriend is 25 not 22 and he only stops dating them when they start talking marriage. Nothing wrong with that.
Lol, you lads should read the book.
i think he was just a nutter, nothing more nothing less :D just my two cents.
hahah one of my favourite comments on our channel ever!
The grim reaper or a human embodiment of something also needs to rob a pharmacy to perform self surgery? And also can get a compound fracture because he's distracted while driving?
Great points... assume you're going he's real then?
story is from a sheriff point of view so he never knew how anton looked like, so he might not exist at all
Yesss! Exactly!
at the end he checks his shoes leaving the house , his car crash also , because he went against his own system , as she wouldn't call the cion toss ,
Really good take and totally agree - means he killed Carla but went against his own system. Can't work out what happens to him after he limps off though...
Lol Hansey I've been missing you on 90min pod for so long and today decided to dig up a little bit where did you go.... and I'm just happy that you have progressed in your career. All the best mate
Its sucked. It was a bunch of lefties trying to make a nuetral film..
I thought it was great beautiful camrea shots, good acting, fighting scenes were good. Out of curiosity what movies do you like?
It's a bunch of liberals making a neutral movie.. and like are we suppose to sympathize with media reporters 😅😅
@@gizroc your not suppose to, it's part of the job they do and how was it liberal? Pretty netural movie to me
@MrKrill614 cmon like the president was obviously Donald Trump. The poeple in the gas station was the Boogaloo Boyz. I wish, it more on the political side. Right or left. Playing it safe didn't do the movie any favors
@@gizroc isnt that how reporters are suppose to be? It was to be from there point of view and was their to report the situation. As to Donald Trump really didnt get that vibe from the limited screen time the president got. But if you dont appreciate the art of good movies and favor propaganda bs then this wasent for you
@MrKrill614 The problem with the movie is that they wanted you to make you feel sympathetic to reporters. The problem is that half the country believes and don't trust reporters. But the movie fight scene I did enjoy.
i agree - i feel like it was trying to make a story there, but they fell short. I think the over reaching message is war is bad for both sides. But they didn't really show that. Instead, the western forces are basically blitzing their way toward DC. I wish they had explored more about the factions - why were those guys in the first fire fight in Hawaiian shirts? obviously they didn't just get caught in the crossfire - they were combat veterans of some sort. Are the hawaiian shirts their uniform? same with the snipers and the ghilli suits - they have colorful hair and nails, what side are they on? are they a faction? or just some random militia fighting another militia? They HINT at attrocities, but don't say who's doing it. The most tense scene is with the breaking bad guy. They never explain why the people were killed and are being buried in a mass grave. they're def out of regs - so what side are tehy on? the DC loyalists seem to be the ones in uniform, but why would they be wearing the stupid glasses? they mention factions but dono't go into any detail. I think the best way they could have ended the movie and acutlaly shown growth is to have dunst instead of becoming a blubbering mess at the end, fail to knock the kid out of the way. and instead of getting the money shot at the president, stops to take the kid's picture instead. that's showing that she is putting the "war journalist" thing to rest and growing as if to say, war is stupid - i'm not going to cover it anymore. any of the fighting segments is generic war footage. I will say the sound is pretty good - haven't heard gunfire that clean and loud in a while. it's jarring and not muted as most movies would have you believe. There is a story there...but i feel like it missed the mark by not fleshing out the world enough. forgettable and generic.
I thought it was great.
You state “ what you get is an intelectual action film “ … you liked to be given Baby food … something easily digested … you don’t want your brain thinking… because you don’t like to think … the movie is not about politics ( the Director said himself) it’s about war journalist and the ugliness and uselessness of war.
Hi gents, loved the pod as usual. At time of listening Ben you hadn't watched Civil War. I have a different view of the film than Jack. For me the seemingly vague placement of America in time and place within the film is intentional and helps provide a sense of immediacy that the journalists we're travelling with experience too. It's essentially a road movie, and develops in a series of incidents against the backdrop of this civil war; and the lack of explanation or clear dividing lines is kind of the point I think. The futility of the situation is felt most keenly in one particular scene where a rifleman is shooting at a sniper. When questioned why he's shooting, he simply says 'because he's shooting at us'. Definitely worth a watch, and a great cinema film (the soundtrack is awesome too - features two songs by Suicide that sound awesome in surround sound). While I'm here - couldn't find an email addy for you, wanted to let you know that for your next review (Human Traffic) that I have a load of tidbits from the genesis of the film, the actual shoot and the director. I was friends with Justin Kerrigan back in the late 90s (I was good friends with his girlfriend at the time), and spent time on set during filming. I even have a physical copy of the original script. The 'spliff politics' scene features 'me' (well, it isn't me in it - but the character 'Herbie' is based on me and an event that actually happened at an afterhours party). Let me know if you would like any background insider info - I can send you my whatsapp/email if you can share an email address for the pod. Cheers lads. Be well
People just don’t want to use their brains 🧠 to think and analyze… they want everything to be digested in a tic Toc video … no critical thinking whatsoever… a very manipulative generation… that’s why they don’t even analyze what the candidates say and do today … they all want to just be sheep 🐑‼️
Did you see when Andrew was sitting down to watch the interview and the part about Tramp nightclub came up and in the interview Andrew said "I don't drink ", on the table in front of Andrew is a martini...
I would assume they can't actually explore the story of the victims and accusers due to slander laws, because Andrew has never been found guilty of anything.
Yes! The bit with the card being ejected and carried to the studios had the same energy as Vader chasing the Death Star plans down the hallways in Rogue One haha. I was sat there like "On his Scooter?! Oh no what if a bus takes him out and the road rash cripples the card!!!!"
What's in those binders there young fella? Probably boring but important stuff. Mic cover a bit naff. What's that about? Sunny out today. Ridiculous the amount of rain this last while. Dunno whether to take the car or rowboat.
Or alternatively the robovac...
Bond: Henry Cavill or Tom Hardy.
I saw the film at the theater and can't understand how a Jewish director, who made a good film, then goes to the Oscars and gives a speech like that. A Jew in name only, he seems to be a person quite distant from the struggles of modern-day Israelis.
I saw this film in 1968 at the cinema . I was 9 . I am 66 now and I have the blue ray and several books relating to the film . I have read/heard many explanations about what the film was ultimately about . It is great to hear you guys talking about this movie in such a spirited style . Fascinating insights. Thank you.
Hey Norman, thanks so much for your lovely comment - We've spoken a lot about the importance of still grabbing hold of physical media and the joy of owning these films on Blue ray on the pod! Come on over and give us a listen if you fancy it. What was your take on the final act intrigued to see if you agreed with ours?! Appreciate you getting in touch
Loved this discussion chaps thank you. Has been a titanic movie for me personally and one that must be seen in a cinema. Is worth remembering that the film was released late 60s in the height of psychedeliia. The end scene, despite pushing the visual and audio boundaries of cinema was very much part of what was happening at the time. Contemporary films like Zabriksie Point and Performance were (and are) proper mind-bending; not dissimilar to the weirdness at the end of 2001. I loved Jack's reading of it though, and that for me is the beauty of the movie, is there is so much interesting interpretation. Big love lads
Such a good point here about the timing of the film and where cinema was at, at the time. The weirdness is kind of the beauty of it - probably why so many people were turned off the film at the time and yet why so many (if not more now) love it today. Thanks so much for watching and really glad you enjoyed it! Catch you on the next one - and if there's any films you'd suggest we do on the pod give us a shout and we'll try to get them on the go.
@@BYOBpod thanks gents and thanks for the shout out on the latest pod
Sorry, don't feel like watching this video, but why does the title suggest boycotting it?
Apology accepted! Watch the video haha
The CGI at the end was a huge L
Who's even discussing not seeing this? Fucking UK man
hahah what did the UK do?
big disappointment looked great acted great... not scary
yes. watch it.
I’ve had multiple groups of friends see the movie now and afterwards I tell them if they noticed the AI images. Not a single one did and they didn’t care for it since the movie was so well done. Small indie movies need the full support and I can’t wait to own the physical copy of this.
Great point Zarr - hopefully we got this across in the video that independent film making is so crucial to the industry and that some of the takes out there around the AI perhaps go a bit too far
Such a great film
They had real artist go over and further change the AI images digitally, so im not seeing the problem here.
Watched it. Movie was great. I think people should just support these movies, and go after bigger productions with larger budgets.
Yes go watch it and support indie films. They had a shoe string budget and had to save money where they could. They aren’t some 100 million dollar block buster.
I see why 250 subs😂
pfft 257 do your research!
@@BYOBpod Okay damn it, there you got me😂
Not sure what you were expecting. The objective was to make a FUN movie. Not a film in the vein of Nightcrawler or Donnie Darko... I thought it was fun AF. Yes, the ending was over the top, but it was a good time.
This is the worst movie channel on RUclips.
A 2024 take on the 'shit sandwich' feedback approach
@@BYOBpod British people just don't know movies, look at that asshat Mark Kermode. When you guys think the pinnacle of comedy is Monty Python, Fools and Horses and Mr. Bean, and the best Drama's are anything with Hugh Grant in it or written by Shakespeare or Dickens, you have some of the worst taste ever. Thankfully your music was good until the 90s.
The fact anyone thought this was gonna be a serious movie, have not seen the first one 😂 it was meant to be like that it was an 80s throwback 😂😂
is it possible for a film to be not serious and also not absolutely rubbish?
@@BYOBpod anchorman ?? Happy Gilmore the list goes on. Bit of a stupid question but again it’s all subjective. Don’t act like people thought mcgregor would be the second coming of Marlon Brando is beyond me. Look at Jason statham….. him and conor ain’t that different acting wise. Jason’s made millions off the same character 😂
Dunkirk number one. There I said it.
lol what? I loved it.
Roadhouse was a fun film, yalls video is the appalling production. 🤢
this film was simply fantastic, this argument about AI being used is such a cry baby talk, that’s just the way technology and films are going nowadays, can’t hold this advance back because of people scared of being replaced, a lot of people will, that’s just the way it goes. Anyways great video lads 👍🏾
Deep insight
It's not just about people losing jobs. It's about the death of story telling and originality. AI doesn't create, it just copies.
@@toiletsponge don’t waste your time explaining it to these lot. They’ll either clap like trained seals not even know what’s happening.
@@toiletspongehow does storytelling apply here

Didn't take itself too seriously, was fun and goofy. was insanely surprised at how much i enjoyed it. You're just awful
Prisoners is brilliant
Road hse is dirt
ummmm..... This movie was a fucking blast. You boys had dellusional expectations. Watch the old roadhouse, its equally as bad, its just a classic. The dialogue is fucking awful in the original, atleast in the new one, the fights and action looks 1000 times better. People completely miss what the movie is suppose to be. Its not suppose to be some oscar winning film. Its just a action movie made for fun. Obviouslyyyyyy
It’s so awful you took the time out of your day to make a RUclips video on it.
are you guys regarded?
I liked it, fuck you
What a low IQ take... You can tell they are trying so hard to sound professional but dont even understand what kind of movie Roadhouse is supposed to be. Thank god for "dont recommend channel" button. What a waste of server space
