i got my g with 213k miles on it for $4500 and its 100% worth it for the style of car and the enjoyable performance. i will definitely ride this bitch out til my engine blows then drop a new one in. by then hopefully id have made sum vq friends who can give me da hookup etc😭🙏🏽

Highly NOT recommended… From what I know, the factory clutch-type LSD wears out by high mileage normally. So not changing the gear oil is asking for the clutch packs in the LSD to prematurely wear out… You’ll end up with an LSD that barely works and acts like an open diff by that point. If not, you’ll be lucky if it doesn’t start making noises and start chattering earlier on, to warn you know otherwise. I personally change my gear oil with every other engine oil change. It’s as easy as an engine oil change, and requires even less oil. If you have the right tool to pump the oil back in, it’s even easier than an engine oil change, by far. Also, if you’re unsure of the prior owner’s maintenance, I would do a DIY “flush”. Get enough for about 3-4 diff oil changes, and drive it around less than 50 miles or so, and then change it back to back. You’ll notice the oil being much cleaner if you drive the car less hard (and less often, ofc) and change the oil earlier than what the owner’s manual recommends. You can also opt for better quality, full synthetic aftermarket gear oils; although I forget if the recommended OEM Nissan gear oil is still semi-synthetic. Modern, up-to-date full synthetic oils have the proper additive packages for the hypoid gears in your differential, as well as having high heat tolerances, which reduces the shearing of the oil (compared to conventional dino and semi-synthetic blend oils).
