[I'd Be] A Legend In My Time - Ronnie Milsap
Просмотров 286 месяцев назад
From the 1975 album by the same name, this rendition of a song penned by the legendary Don Gibson and produced by Tom Collins and Jack Johnson reached Number 1 in the country charts. This is one of the later examples of "The Nashville Sound" of the 50s, 60s, and 70s, with its lush string arrangements and multi-layered production far removed from the rawness of honky-tonk and old time music. The...

Black Water - The Doobie Brothers
Просмотров 17Год назад
The 4th track on the "A" side of their 1974 album "What Were Once Vices Are Now Habits" This is the pre-Michael McDonald iteration of the band, with songwriter Patrick Simmons on lead vocals. While many Virginian listeners presumed the lyrics were a tribute to the Blackwater River in their home state, the song was in fact inspired by Simmons' visit to Louisiana in 1971. Produced by Ted Templeman
Needles and Pins - Jackie DeShannon

Jackie DeShannon was born as "Sharon Lee Myers" to a music-loving farming family in Calloway County, Kentucky in 1941. Here she is performing a song penned by Sonny Bono, Jack Nitzsche, and herself in 1963. The song barely troubled the American charts, but reached Number 1 in Canada. "Needles and Pins" saw much greater worldwide success a year later when it was recorded by English Merseybeat ba...
I Never Picked Cotton - Roy Clark

Written by Bobby George and Charlie Williams, recorded 1969, released 1970. From the now largely forgotten American tradition of songs by and about the "white" underclasses. Born into a humble but musical tobacco farming family in Meherrin, Virginia during The Great Depression, Roy Clark was an influential and sublimely gifted multi-instrumentalist, and a pretty good singer to boot. Probably be...
In the Pines - Dock Walsh
Просмотров 316Год назад
American folk song recorded in 1926 by Doctor Coble "Dock" Walsh, old-time banjo player from North Carolina. Most folks agree that this song (also known as "Where Did You Sleep Last Night") is a mash-up of at least two or three older ballads including "Black Girl" and "The Longest Train", both thought to have been written sometime around the 1870s. Probably made most famous by Lead Belly in the...
Cold Blooded Murder - Hazel Dickens
Просмотров 36Год назад
Hazel Dickens was a West Virginia girl, with deep roots in the mountains there. During much of the 20th century, urban and suburban America mocked the "hillbillies" of Southern Appalachia, while simultaneously benefiting from cheap Appalachian coal. And while much of the USA laughed or stared aghast at fare such as "The Beverly Hillbillies" or "Deliverance", leather tough mountain women were tr...
Cumberland Gap - Morgan Sexton

Morgan Sexton of Letcher County, Kentucky Born 1911, Died 1992 The song "Cumberland Gap" references the gap in the Smoky Mountains near the converging borders of Kentucky, Tennessee, and Virginia - an important early pass over the Appalachian Mountains for squatters, colonisers, and settlers during the later 18th century. Waitin´ Around to Die - Townes Van Zandt
BRAVO!!!
Perhaps the most saddest and beautiful song of all time.
Without accompaniment that was without a doubt magnificent.
I love this song
She sings so beautifully
Stunning cover version in Spanish of a song written and sung by Roy Orbison and a hit for him in 1962. I thought Roy Orbison’s live version on his U.K. tour in 1963 was electric, and kd lang’s live version just as incredible at a tribute to Roy concert in 1990. But this live version tops them both !! Roy’s duet version with kd lang in 1987 is a close second.
Charley Crockett brought me here.
She's an angel
I am an "old gringo" , and I find her performance devastatingly moving and so beautiful, bravo bravo bravo !!!!!!!
Wow ❤
Who is that woman? Quien es esa mujer?. Hermosa traducción y una interpretación impecable! Que excelente voz y buen registro!
Rebekah del Rio
I read that when David Lynch was directing Mulholland Drive and the filming was complete, he heard Rebekah del Rio sing this song. He immediately wrote and included the theatre scene which featured Ms. del Rio. She was that good. The film weirded me out but I was so glad that I watched it to the end and heard del Rio sing Llorando. I think Roy Orbison would have been impressed. The Spanish language is perfect for this song and del Rio's voice nails it!! WOW!! Her modest dialogue following the performance exemplifies her respect for the audience and her humble gratitude.
i'm really glad he brought her back for Twin Peaks the return
Beautiful rendition of an amazing ballad.
Yep, I too 1st heard of her from Mulholland Drive, I have been in love with her ever since and I share this with every person I know that appreciates music...still amazes me
No puedo no pensar en Mulholland drive
What a rare gem! Thanks for sharing it with us!
🥲🥲🥲 so beautiful
I love it. Even without the added context from Mulholland Drive, it turns me into a puddle.
What? That is amazing background to Mulholland Drive, thank you so much for taking the time to share!
Good memories . Of my dad laughing As he watched Hee Haw. I’m sorry my parents had a head strong girl . I brought so much Disrespect to the family name and Hardik to my parents. He’s older than you I really hope this regret goes away one day before I die
magically...
Wicked good
What a beautiful and charismatic voice, both her speaking voice and singing voice. Truly talented and gifted...
Holy fuckin shit😊
Roy Orbison (who wrote the song) and K.D. Kang perform incredible versions of this song (in English), but Rebekah's version in Spanish is my favorite. Beautiful voice.
When Roy sings it, I understand his pain, and feel sorrow for him. Occasionally a tear will escape my eye listening to Roy's amazing and almost understated performance. With K.D. it's similar, and I'm just in awe of the effortless but somehow still emotional vocals. With Rebekah, my heart is ripped from its chest, thrown on the ground and shattered into a million pieces, but it's simultaneously mended by the life-force that is her operatic vocal. A sweet sorrow if you will, that leaves me balling like a baby every time.
Flawless performance a capella see stole my heart. To educate those who don't know, this composition was written by Roy orbison. And she absolutely owns it. Thank you for the video
She speaks Spanish with the accent of Spain, not the Latin American accent.
love this
Great song.
Simply...BEAUTIFUL !!
Perfection. No instruments needed.
❤❤❤ Qué voz tan potente y brillante. Transmite todas las emociones del mundo. Qué triste que no se le conozca más, mientras prolifera tanta basura en el medio musical.
Fantastic. Love it.
Haha 110 views and schlock like Taylor Swift 110 million. Go figure.
I'd take Lone Justice and Maria Mckee over Swift anyday.
_silencio_
Absolutely haunting voice. Even if you don't understand the language, it reaches your soul and touches your spirit.
It's a Spanish cover of Roy Orbison's song 'Crying'. One only has to listen to that English version to understand the words.
@@ASMR-em3zx best cover of any song ever. Roy would be so proud. 😥
Love this woman's voice even if I don't understand her Spanish. Loved her the movie "Mulholland Drive"
Raw and beautiful
Yes, she's sublime.
Amazing what you can do just by strumming one chord.
