John DiMarco
Добавлен 14 окт 2011
Hi, I'm John DiMarco, and welcome to our channel! I love Jesus and my family, who you may see occasionally pop in to play some games or just be goofy. I'm a sci-fi nerd, particularly in regards to classic Star Trek and The Orville. I'm also a fan of SeaQuest DSV, from which I learned that Darwin the Dolphin is the best!
Thursday Trek: A-koo-chee-moya
Welcome to Thursday Trek, which will consist of shorter videos about various Star Trek topics. This week features occasions when Chakotay (and others) sought guidance despite being far from the sacred places of their grandfathers and far from the bones of their people.

Was good until the gross garbage at the end…religion ruins everything.
Aaa-koo-chee-moya! Sorry. [sniffle] I sneezed. Anyone can spare a tissue? 👃
@@MisterMarin We are far from the tissues of our people...
@@JohnDiMarco But perhaps there's one powerful being who would spare a tissue? [sniffle]
I didn't know he said it that often.
Don't mince words, Bones. What do you REALLY think?
Jim, I'm your doctor, and I'm your friend. Get back your command.
The Cloud is my favorite Voyager episode. Great video
Come on Chakotay, everyone knows you made all this up. Janeway was only humoring you when she said it. Thanks, John.
What episode of the original series is the first clip pulled from?
All TOS references to Surak are from "The Savage Curtain."
@@JohnDiMarco Thank you, been many years since I saw that episode and couldn't remember it.
"I need not remind you, you have beaten me many times..."
torpedo is a underwater projectile, i always wondered why it was called that until i thought it may be using a kupier drive and hidden below the fabric of space.
nunca gostei do final de holodeck e a morte do trip
This is my chicken sandwich and coffee!
I want these things off the ship. I don't care if it takes every man we've got, I want them off the ship.
@@JohnDiMarco so good they used this in both episodes
The bartender called it.........
@@Gradient14 A tribble.
I always wait for the Spaceballs "Have a Nice Day" right before the refit Enterprise blows up.
I liked Captain Sanders from the Milinche "Do me a favor. Save me a seat as his court martial"
@@Gradient14 Count on it.
That’s why Insurrection is the weakest film
Oh wow I had no idea Adrienne barbeau was either of those
2:48 "Well then let's just pull the plug!" Best and most logical solution to the problem in whole Star Trek. And it came from a Human - Klingon hybrid, not Vulcan. Need I remind you that sometimes the most simple solutions are the best ones. 🖖
Small squiggling worms is not something I would have expected Klingons to prefer.
God, I was wondering why Ras al gul's voice made me shiver.
Very well done John! Good job!
@@TheMultiGunMan Thanks!
"Protector of Mars" don't be silly, Martians look completely different.
I'm a huge DCAU junkie, and ST:TNG fan. What an excellent idea for a video!!👍Keep em coming.
I know its not Voyager but im watching the Nth Degree Is it just me or is this one of the hest episodes of science fiction ever?
That is an excellent episode.
That's the Barclay-SuperCPU episode right
@@joe9739 That's the one.
Youre tauntaun will freeze before you reach the first marker
Then I'll see you in Gre'thor.
Haha @JohnDiMarco
Yes its odd that they would use what they used. Still takes me out if the film.
Star trek movie ... the strange background music during the Berman era, always brings me back
This is fantastic, John!
Thanks!
I always wanted to hear him say, "Dammit, Jim, I'm a doctor, not a physician."
The inside of the Enterprise may look rather dated to me, but the exterior of the ship looks great.
My nephew says "Remember..." a lot, like when he made up a obstacle course when I took him to the playground and was telling me how to do it. I assume he got that from RUclips or some show or movie.
Why was an episode taken off the playlist?
@@Gradient14 The episode in question can still be found on the Jeopnerdy playlist, but I made the episode unlisted because of an issue that I had to edit. (I'm being intentionally vague to spare the people involved.)
Im sorry if it was the epiosde where i mentioned anything @JohnDiMarco
@@Gradient14 The issue was not about anything you said or did.
@@JohnDiMarco oh good
Star Trek really did a awesome job with Red Alert.
I still think Patrick Stewart wouldve been great as Mr Freeze. How wild would that be? Stewart playing Mr Freeze to perfection and then Prof X to perfection...?
Jeffrey Combs did the voice of the Scarecrow in the final season of BTAS, when they changed the look, and had Nightwing and Robin
Some of these actors also appeared more than once in Star Trek. - David Warner was also in two of the movies. Star Trek 5 as one of the ambassadors, Star Trek 6 as Gorkon. - Paul Winfield was also in TNG's "Darmok". (Bonus points, also was in "Batman Beyond" a few times. - Rene Auberjonois also was in Star Trek 6 as Colonel West. -... as was Brock Peters as Admiral Cartwright. It's fascinating to know how many actors showed up across various properties. For bonus points, Michael Ansara and David Warner were also given neat roles in "Babylon 5". (As well as Walter Koenig, who was great to watch.)
I did not know that Adrienne Barbeau was on either show, much less as the voice of Catwoman.
It reminds me of my favorite witticisms, "I don't shut up. I throw up, and you lick it up."
I didn't know Catwoman was voice by John Carpenter wife 😮
Brent Spiner played the Joker in Young Justice.
Data instead of Luke Skywalker?? Thats crazy
And John de Lancie was Mr. Twister.
To this day, I still find it so fascinating how I can't determine if Gul Dukat genuinely cared for his daughter, or if he saw her as an extension of the only thing he really cared for as a genuine narcissist - himself, or if he simply enjoyed the idea of himself as a benevolent and kindly father. Garak is constantly deceiving with his charm and charisma. Gul Dukat is deceiving because he believes in the lies he tells more than anyone else.
Amazing! Hollywood actor who had more than one job. Inconceivable.
Shut up, as in close your mouth and stop talking!
I was surprised about Michael Ansara too that he voiced General Warhawk.
And he must have been good friends with Irwin Allen because he did an episode of every TV show Allen made and even worked with his wife Barbara "Jeannie" Eden on the movie "Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea" and an episode of her show, "I Dream of Jeannie"
I believe DeForest Kelley really enjoyed telling Spock to shut up. 🙂
You can always tell it's a bad Star Trek movie when the main characters sing.
It makes me wonder how T'Pol must have felt in that embrace, Did she understand how incredible it was? It would have been perfect if Archer said, "thank you for being my number one..."
They're different characters?

Great video! However, I would like to point out that in the Robert Picardo B:TAS clip it also features Matt Frewer who appeared in TNG's "A Matter of Time" as the time traveling Berlinghoff Rasmussen.
You should include a clip of someone saying how much they like New Trek followed by a very loud STFU.
Or you could learn to behave like an adult and let other people like the things they want to like, even if you don't like that thing. Like for F--ks sake man, grow up.
Oddly, Mr. Freeze was almost played by two other Star Trek actors. Leonard Nimoy was considered to voice him before Michael Ansara, and Patrick Stewart was considered as one of Joel Schumacher's picks for him in Batman and Robin before Arnold Schwarzenegger was cast.
Batman & Robin needed a better script, director and Mr Freeze. Stewart wouldve been perfect
