Still have mine bought back in 1994. I remember walking into a local guitar shop and heard someone playing it, and at that moment, I knew i had to buy it. It works very well with other pedals too.

I have 4 of these set at different stages, if you know how to play a fuck at all there are many MD-2 rewards from rockabilly/blues to rock/punk to death/crush i built a board specifically around the MD-2 and it's the only distortion with nothing added but runs through some additional effects and an octave to saturate the low end even more if needed, i will be filming a demo of this pedal in time with a les paul and doubleneck

A little off topic, but I wish more people would play like this when reviewing gear. Much more useful then that infinite solo shredding stuff that most people do in their vids.

Are you able to use both outputs at the same time? Sending Direct output to cab sim pedal then to front of house and the other output to a clean amp on stage for volume?

I have too many guitars to mention with all different sorts of pickups. I’m a single coil guy. But my favorite guitar is a a heavily modded Jag with wide range humbuckers. It’s my go-to for sure. So, there’s definitely something to be said about these pickups

I have a 2006 Mexican Tele Deluxe, I have never had the pleasure of playing through real Wide Range Humbuckers but the ones that came in my Tele suck, they sound thin and lifeless compared to some of the other humbuckers I have including but not limited to the 1971 Gibson SG with Tar Backs, I have a Les Paul with T-Tops, A lawsuit Univox LP copy with pickups that sound almost identical to my late 60's patent sicker T-Top which is in another Japanese Lawsuit LP Copy, I also have some 1972 Maxon pickups from a Matsumoku made Epiphone which I put in a Squire Strat that all smoke my Mexican Tele wide ranges. I wish I could try some real vintage wide ranges but I don't have the finances to make this happen.

Which a decent noise gate YES, the original decimator is about $100 used and will cut all single coil hum without completely destroying your tone. That way you can use RAT's Muff's and all that, even pushing them wirh over drives to fuzz them harder, a dimed RAT (pushed with an OD pedal with the volume on the OD bringing the tele up to humbucker volume) on an original tele bridge into a Marshall breaking up sounds VERY Doom Metal but also has a unique tone, some Doom bands do exactly this. But you need that noise gate. If not, you'll just get uncontrollable noise. You also need 11's minimum and to be in at least Eb for Stoner and lower for full on Doom, but set up on a Tele is easy because it's simply guitar.

You should try a neunaber expanse pedal with the exp. I know it takes up space but 4 banks of what ever you want and do the reverb thing you like with the morph feature on each bank. But agree with you on the verb thing. The expanse pedal has been my way of doing it for the last 10 years.

Killer track man. Damn. Almost too good for a guitar pedal review.. this pedal is such a rip off of the Mid-fi pitch pirate/clarinot. Seems a little more useable. It’s amazing how ahead of the game Doug (from mid fi) was. He made that pedal easily twenty years ago. Do yourself a favour and check out his line up of pedals as he is the og of boutique pedal makers like subdecay. Both incredibly original designs and mostly forgotten about which is a fuxking tragedy.
