Because Ortho-Bionomy is so vast and multi faceted in its approach and essence, describing it can sometimes feel overwhelming or inexplicable. Words seem to disappear in mid air and your tongue weighs about ten pounds! We know the feeling. There is always something lacking in describing Ortho-Bionomy as each person's relationship wi...

Watch a brief video of Jessica working with an infant. Infants and children can experience trauma, injury, and imbalance just like adults. Because they are inherently resilient, they usually find ways of compensating that provide adequate use of their moving bodies. However, sometimes these patterns can create dysfunction or pain and can make the natural growth stages difficult to attain. From ...

Practitioner Training The Art of Listening and Maintaining Clear Boundaries
I seem uncoordinated to go in the different clock positions, I think one way and a body goes another. What's happening?
No worries! If the clock image doesn't resonate, simply move the pelvis in ways that are comfortable, noticing if you can move effortlessly from the organs as opposed to a more efforting way from the muscles. Encouraging fluid movement in any direction is a great practice. I hope that helps!
Ortho bionomy FTW. Ive had this issue for about a year, this technique fixed my scapula and thoracic pain as well. I couldn't more thankful!!
We are so grateful it resonated with you and helped your pain!
Thanks so much for this
Sounds like an osteopathy ripoff.
Amazing how I can go to multiple physiotherapists and they can’t suggest anything at all like this that actually helps
I'm so grateful you felt some relief!
@@jessicamark6611 You are doing great work, thank you 🙏

Wow, that’s all I can say! My left shoulder hasnt been level in years
I'm so grateful you felt a response! Amazing what the body can do!
Thank you for this wonderful concise video. Shared on Facebook.
So glad you enjoyed it, Suzanne!
Awesome video, thank you
I have had tightness in this area for years. I'm always massaging that trap area. Moreoever, this side is overworked when i exercise (weakness in shoulder and elbow - my arms are even bigger on this side). However, i recently suffered an ulnar nerve entrapment (extreme pain from behind clavicle, rhomboid and down arm to pinky numbness). Doctor thinks it's a herniation (without even examining me), but i'm convinced it's overuse in this shoulder. Any feedback would be appreciated.
Sounds like a lot of variables going on, David. It also could be less about the musculoskeletal system and more about stickiness, tension, and/or adhesions in the lungs, pleura, heart, or surrounding organs. Sometimes the muscular tightness is accommodating for something deeper going on. Not sure if you've had any manual therapy on it, but might be worth getting an in person opinion from someone you trust. Good luck!
@@jessicamark6611 Thank you Jessica - yes, my deep tissue work lapsed which has not helped me. I suspect a lot of this is tightness, stress and overuse. Not so sure about organs. I'm just very suspicious of my doctor (private) who within seconds said it was a disc and without knowing my shoulder history or examining me. Your rib exercises have appeared to give me some relief. Many thanks again
@@davidantony2734hey i know its a while but you sound like PRI would be a good option for you, i had a similar situation and with PRI exercises i have improved a lot
Shrug, then Try to dive slightly with your fingers into the grooves that would form behind your clavicles (your left hand on the right groove and vice versa). Do you feel a firm and tender mass on the affected side?! You might wanna consider that you might suffer a chronic first rib dislocation (subluxation) 💡.
This worked instantly for me! Thank you!
So glad it worked!
interesting, a practitioner mentioned she did this and I am researching more about it. I don't understand how this can help BUT keeping an open mind
What about someone with fibromyalgia and chronic tendinitis?
Ortho-Bionomy may offer support to people with auto immune issues because it can help the communication in the autonomic nervous system. This can provide the foundation for clear messaging and connection to the body on many levels. With tendonitis, sometimes it can be helpful to explore what's under the tone of the chronic inflammatory response and encourage more response in the proprioception at the specific joint which then may alleviate the maladaptive pattern.
This is very elegant and somewhat helpful for my SI joint dysfunction. I have PT'd it to death with only min-mod improvement. Is there a specific self care orthobionomy routine for the sacroiliac joint?
Glad you are getting some help for your SI joint issues. Try another one by lying face down with knees bent. Put a pillow under pelvis if there is any lower back discomfort. Then, very gently and slowly make small circles, side to side movements, or random doodles with your feet in the air while keeping the knees bent. Check out where the movement feels easiest and give yourself the option to hang out there a bit longer. Ease of movement is the key. How can you make these smaller movements with as much ease and fluidity as possible? I hope that helps!
@@jessicamark6611 Thanks I'll try it : - }
Hey Jessica...I have been doing this about a week now and have to say I have had waaaay less pain than I have had since July 23, 2021, when I had the fall that started all of this. I'm impressed enough to have ordered the book by Luann Overmyer to read some more abpout these techniquies. I will say I am a retired surgeon, and currently have an appointment with an ortho doc for SI joint fixation---that I am really going to have to re-think now....thanks.
@@thtmnbhndthecrtn Ohhh! Wonderful that you are experiencing less pain. That means you may be able to move the pain out! Glad you ordered Luann's book. There are some other techniques in there that may support you as well. SI joint fixation may be helpful in the short term, but the concern may be what else may have to compensate for that limited mobility later on. It's encouraging to hear you are feeling some relief!
Can it be used to correct cervical curve
In Ortho-Bionomy we work with our body's innate wisdom to balance and bring more communication to all of our systems. Each condition will have its own complexities and unique needs, so it is difficult to answer that question in one sentence.
Why does it sound like 🧢?
You have done a beautiful job of describing Ortho-Bionomy-Bionomy. I have been practicing since 1998 and after all these years I can't describe it as eloquently as you have here. Do you mind if I put it on my website?
So glad the video resonated with you! Yes, I'm happy if you'd like to share it on your website!
I will try this, how often should we do?
Start with twice in a row two times per day. Less is more!
