My channel was named after my Florida state which is the "Sunshine" state. My goal is to share with you the beauty of orchids and other plants and garden that surrounds us and how to care for them.
Laelia itambana x liliputiana in bloom and a thank you
A beautiful miniature orchid in a Cattleya family known as rupiculous- rock growing laelias native to Brazil. And a heartfelt thank you to those who commented with positive vibes, prayers, blessings and best wishes as I’m going through my cancer journey.

Hello everyone! I been battling cancer that’s why I haven’t been posting. I will try to post even the previously recorded ones when I can. This orchid has been blooming for me every year on the month of May during Mother’s Day week. It has no fragrance but it makes up for its beautiful attractive blooms. Song title: Wrangler

Hello! Could you place it in partial sun ?
Would like to buy a division from you.
Good morning Miss Sunshine, I came upon your channel. I had a C. Tigrina from Krull Smith. last September I traveled and my plant went too dry and shrivled up. I purchase another from Ken Smith and she is doing very well. We have no plans to travel and I am keeping a very close eye on her.
❤❤❤❤
Your plants all look so healthy and beautiful.. Thank you for sharing
so beutiful, this one and all the other orchids I can see in this video.. thank you for sharing 💕💫🌙😉
How old was that tree please?
Your plant is covered with scale insect
Informative and nce video. Thank you
This video inspired me to get myself a jongheana. Salamat😍
Nice orchids. I just dropped a similar video from this year’s Green Thumb Festival on my channel! Lots of orchids!
It is one kind of spice. Kopak bud/marati moggu. Stem of the flower used in food as spices
I'm thinking of you and praying for you 🙏
Very beautiful! How long does these flowers last?
I hope you are doing well. Miss seeing you and your videos.
Happy New Year! Sorry I haven’t been posting. Just started going back to work while still getting radiation treatments for my cancer. Thank you for checking up on me.🤗💕
We miss you as well. Love your videos. Please get well.😊
Keeping you in my prayers. May your body be healed. Stay strong.
Hello there. Lovely tree. I am in central FL and have been looking for one of these. Do you still have it and if so do you have any seeds? I would be willing to buy them from you. A neighbor had one and I loved to watch the crows land in it. It was there for almost 20 years then they cut it down. Very sad. I know they get big and I do have room so I know it will become a huge beautiful monster tree. Hope to hear from you soon.
Please share some care tips for epidendrum stamfordianum
What part of the US do you keep this plant?? I’m in Arkansas I wonder if it would thrive here…
I’m in central Florida. It will thrive if given the right conditions. Needs winter rest and protection from temperatures less than 50F. Thanks for watching.
What an awesome specimen. Congratulations on the great blooms. What medium have you used for your platycaulon?
They are beautiful, thanks for sharing.
You’re right, not too many videos on the care for this type of orchid. Appreciate you sharing your growing tips!
Beautiful!
Thank you for watching 💕

Thank you for watching 💕
Such a cute orchid 😊. I hope you're having good days and you regain your health soon!
Thank you Anna🤗🥰 . I’m still halfway through the treatment. Can’t wait to regain my health soon.💕
What a sweetheart orchid. I had Laelia liliputiana. It didn’t do well.,and is no more. I may try again. Prayers coming your way. Be well dear one. ❤️🙏🏻🥰
Thank you so much for your prayers.🥰🤗I’m confident you’ll do great the second time around having this Laelia. With the heat wave we’re having this summer, it really puts a toll on some plants. I have to put my newly planted plants away from heat until established.😊💕
what a lovely little one, Stay safe and praying for a speedy recovery!
Thank you for your prayers.🤗 🥰We got rain from the storm nothing serious, like a tropical one. Hope it will just dissipate soon and not create more damage as it goes to Georgia and Carolina’s.💕
Hi Sunshine, how are you feeling? Yesterday morning I was thinking about you and praying for you. Thank you for sharing your beautiful laelia
I’m doing fine as can be, still on chemotherapy. Thank you so much for your prayers.🤗💕
Wow, so much beautiful flowers! 😃💚
Thank you for watching 💕
Hi Sunshine. Beautiful bright blooms, and very nicely formed for first time blooming. You are still in my prayers, especially now that you have an alligator coming around. Lol. Please keep getting better and keep the videos coming. Stay safe.
Lol 😂 I have to watch my surroundings every time I’m in the backyard since then. Thank you for your continued prayers 🤗🙏 and stay safe as well 💕
Very Pretty.Luv the color! An alligator kinda scary.Stay Safe and Thankyou for sharing
I ran when I realized it’s the alligator 😆Thank you 🤗🥰Stay safe as well💕

Thank you so much Glovana 🤗💕
😱An alligator visited ? Nice orchid. Prayers going up for a remission for you.
Yes! I can’t believe it myself because we never had one for 23 years. 😄 Thank you for your prayers 🥰🙏
That is a beautiful Dendrochilum, her blooms are fantastic, I have never seen this one before
Thank you. I hardly see one. I’m glad I found it at Andy’s. It comes in alba and peach color. Andy only has the alba form.😊💕
Nice to see you active on RUclips, I’ve missed you! I love the dendrochilum, the flowers are so dainty. Keep posting. ❤
Thank you PC. 💕🥰
Thank you for sharing
You’re very welcome. Thanks for watching 💕
I would recommend the Glumaceum it's a fast grower and the flowers, although small, are beautiful and smell heavenly 😁(mine had at least 500 small flowers this year) Cobbianum is also very pretty, small Dendrobium like flowers in green and also very fragrant (green apples)
Thank you Ynse. I think I have glumaceum. With the heat we’re having this summer, the intermediate growers are struggling to survive. The cootesii is in protected area from heat, don’t know how far it can stand the warm weather.😬🥵
I've been looking into the Cootesii but haven't found it yet
What would you say the Glumaceum smells like? I've looked up some Dendrochilum and a lot of them sound like they have weird smells lol
Hard to put that into words but a cross between citrus and lilac describes it best I think (the Cobbianum smells best)
So pretty, love the yellow! So good to hear ur voice.I just love ur collection.Take Care!
Thank you so much Diane 🤗💕
Wow you have some very unusual orchids. They are lovely. Thanks for sharing them. 🥰👏🌸🎀
Thank you Shirley 🥰💕
New to me. First time I have seen this one. Congratulations on getting her to bloom! She sounds like a difficult one to grow. I wonder if moving the orchid to a brighter location stimulated her to bloom. Beautiful blooms!
Hello dear friend. Thank you. She is difficult to grow especially as a seedling. I killed the first 3 seedlings in different media. This one is more established blooming size but I almost killed it if hadn’t repotted in moisture retentive media. She is worth it and she is not easy to find specie. Yes, it probably bloomed when I transferred her to a brighter spot.😊💕
What an unusual Dendrobium ! Thank you for sharing ! ❤️
Thank you for your comments Alexandra 💕
Very nice blooms, like it! I have a dendrchilum that I'm hoping to bloom next year. There are 6 new growths but they grow extra slowly, Mine is in sphagnum too! Thanks for sharing and happy growing.
Thank you Mary for watching and I appreciate your comments. Good luck with your dendrochilum. 💕
Such beautiful flowers! I know that our plants love the outdoors but I am always so concerned about them picking up some devouring insect. My plants also seem to lose some of their vigor when I have to bring them back inside when the weather starts to get cold . They seem to almost pout when I bring them inside. Two years ago I found mealy bugs on a few of my plants after I brought them inside. I fought those nasty bugs for months before finally defeating them. Now I am afraid to take my plants outside again.
Thank you Ellie. I fully understand your concern. I don’t know your state and how your climate during winter. My cymbidium only goes inside at night when temperatures drop below 40F then I take them outside during the day. I only do this when they’re in spike. If you must take them in, maybe try putting them in higher light like vanda light for them to thrive but they also need cooler weather 40-65F to bloom. I spray my other orchids with systemic insecticide more heavy during fall, winter and spring, that’s when bugs starts to thrive in my observation. Learning never ends 😊💕
So many beautiful blooms, thanks for sharing 😊! How nice your cymbidium bloomed in summer, but my cymbidiums only bloom in November! That's great she has fragrance too. Thanks for sharing and happy growing 😊
Thank you Mary. This is a previously recorded video somewhere in spring time. I took a break since February posting videos due to health issues. I also have cymbidiums in flower now but they only put out one spike.😊💕
I had them for four years now and if they don't flower this year they are going to someone who can grow them then I can 😁
Hi Ynse. I just saw your comments. You keep your cymbidium indoors? I have others too that hasn’t bloomed for me. Maybe yours needs a cooler temperature and some brighter light. There’s cymbidium that’s cool growers and mine are the ones that can tolerate warm temperatures.😊
@@sunshineladysorchidsgarden8989 No I keep them outdoors but in previous years I just forgot them every time but this year they live with the bonsai that I started with and those need daily care and now the Cyms also get daily care 😁 full of new stuff but these need a big drop in temperature so no sooner then November will I get them inside
Beautiful display of golden flowers! So sorry that you battling that awful illness. Prayers and blessings going out to you for a full recovery. ❤
Your prayers and blessings are greatly appreciated. Thank you so much 🤗💕
Hello Sunshine. Now,,,,,,, that is a beautiful Cymbidium. (In my book a classify her has: Royalty.) Talking about books, it is going into my book of 'Orchids I am in need of'. Have a nice weekend.
Thank you dear friend Blanca 🥰 This cymbidium did well this year to my surprise. And thrips miss to eat it too 😄. I’m slowing down now when it comes to orchids and I don’t have room for them anymore. Plus too much work during winter and hurricanes. Yes, it’s only orchids I ‘really want’ for now to be included in my collection.😊💕
That's beautiful, stay positive, we're keeping you in our thoughts and prayers.
Thank you so much Todd. I really appreciate it 🤗💕
Wow, thats beautiful! Hope you're doing good, and its good to see a video!
LOL Thank you Todd. I’m taking it easy. Even the mornings weather is so hot now a days. I’ll probably post few previously recorded videos as I’m going through the long journey of treatment.😊💕
So nice to see your plants after a long while
Thank you.🥰 I took a break for a while due to health issues. I will be posting a few previously recorded videos and hopefully current ones as I’m going through treatment. 💕
