There are 2 GW Stores in Vienna, one in the middle and one on the Outskirts of Vienna. A few years ago the Stores were buzzing. This year I was there one weekend and there was not a single customer or Dudes playing Games in the Store. From what I'm aware of, suits like the GM and Zaku II get adjusted stat boosts exclusively for the situation matches, such as being able to dodge and melee swing twice. Were as in normal quick/rated matches neither have such boosted stats.

Space Marines are a scarce resource, if they are sent to purge a world by hand, then them planet has screwd up big time. Though the Imperium is not by far the best, at this point in 40k history it is all humanity has, because 70% of rebellions lead to Choas, and 25% lead to Tyranids. And none of them is a options. the reason they made femstodes is why im going to collect the army. Im collecting tyranids mostly, but also DG, CSM and some eldar and I've never planned to collect SM or Custodes coz I don't like men. I just don't like other men and idea of guys only army sounds bad for me. Death Guard are not guys anymore, just bloated cronenbergs, CSM are also mutaded abominations but I like the general esthetic of normal SM and Custodes and how large the models are, but the idea of sausage party makes me wanna 🤮 I just really don't like guys

Thank you for the analysis! So it was basically a politically motivated move by some progressive within GW who wanted to see a female custode. Irreversibly damaging continuity in the lore of 40k.

It was just stupid , there was no reason for it, Warhammer 40k is already very diverse and there were already very cool all female factions that are bad ass. It's not like people were demanding that it happen. Like you said in the video they missed out on the opportunity to do something special with female custodes instead of just a female in golden armor. They could have made female custodes pyskers and had them be the librarians for the custodes or something . It would be better than the stupid answers GW gave us

i made a large long counter argument to the pro-femstodian ideologues when the femstodes debacle first started, i'll leave it here for you and others to take a look at. its a long wall of text so read at your leisure. i find it covers points others dont really bring up, both from an in world and meta angle 1. (within the narative context): all male custodians existed, continue to exist, and shall exist in perpetuity for very good reasons regarding their story on its own. their lore was meant to exist in an ecosystem sharing space with sisters of silence, one of the important facets of that "narrative ecosystem" being one group is all male, and the other all female- serving as an accent, as well as putting in a very significant symbolic emphasis on the juxtaposition they keep between each other, the symbolism being much like the biblical Adam and Eve where these perfect or near perfect things were designed or introduced specifically to complement one another. adding females to the male side of this relationship completely erases and undoes that symbolic symbiosis. 2. (narrative intention): the custodians were started as an implicitly and semi explicitly all male because it is well understood that warrior masculine virtues at their peak require men as a non-negotiable component of that praxis. the custodians (as well as space marines) are meant to embody specific masculine warrior-virtues, and adding a woman to it intuitively and inherently removes those connotations. to be a man above men, its obvious you have to first be a man, anybody who says otherwise is a fool or is lying for nefarious reasons. 3. (sanctity of portrayal): it is perfectly reasonable, dare i say even good to want something that was made with a very clear implicit intention to stay the way it is, especially over something as fundamental as identity of a group, which- even as many liberals say when in their own circles: matter a lot. so frankly, its entirely reasonable to wish to preserve a particular identity even if its within fiction like in the first two points i made. The identity of the sisters of battle as well as sisters of silence are based on them being women, and that identity is protected. its stupid to look at their counterparts and to claim that their identity doesn't matter when the roles are reversed. the double standard speaks to a sinister agenda. and nobody should stand for it. Based on these three points, this is the bottom line. No, no, a thousand times no: female custodians should not be made canon. they have had years of very clear, consistent, and overt legacy of being all male for a good reason. and it is the objectively correct take to oppose the idea of female custodians. No- this take has nothing to do with female players, thats a total copout. female players and females in fiction are just on its face two different things, and if one brings up female players as a citation to make more females in very clearly all male groups within a fictional story that person essentially reported themselves as the sinister mind. conflating the two for whatever agenda or worldview they might have.

I mean like if you don't think that the things said in a video are true why engage with it? Adam's video was disingenuous in some ways and overall pretty bad, but this is just worse. Though you put a disclaimer at the start that the video is going to be mostly venting, this comes off as a series of gut reactions without any coherent thought behind it. Saying Verhoeven didn't know what he was doing just because the movie intentionally has a point of view near-diametrically opposed to that of the book is silly. What's sillier is saying politics in art are the "death of creativity", when a majority of art is political. Both book and movie are political and neither are bad or "uncreative" because of it. I encourage you to fix your audio (ie. audible breathing) moving forward.

Legends and Folklore often served the role of spreading the values of a culture to the next generation. Figures from Charles Dickens (too many count, but A Christmas Carol is an overt call against the callous attitudes common in Capitalists) to HG Wells (War of the Worlds: what if a more technologically advanced civilization came to earth and do what Victorian Britain does to less technologically advanced societies) to Mel Brooks (there's a neat divided between pre and post Blazing Saddles westerns, a satire which brought the often overlooked Racial elements of the Wild West period front and center) wrote works of fiction which were clearly and overtly political. And beyond that, even fiction which is not overtly political is written by people who are the products of their environment. An easy way to establish a faction is bad is to model them in varying degrees of overtness after Germany under the Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei. Or you could say that they practice Slavery, but the Confederate States of America would object to the notion that Slavery was bad. Lots of stories involve wars and as Clausewitz said War is Politics by Other Means. Going out of your way to avoid any sense of real life politics in a story is doomed to fail. First of all, because you are cutting out a large section of the human experience. But beyond that, by attempting to avoid political matters all the time you are making one of several political message (the wrong-headed but honest one is "political discourse is inherently unpleasant and should be avoided to avoid conflict" but inaction is still a political choice, and likely it's the less honest one of "I want to shut down X stance, but with a thin veneer of deniability"). Politics is Human interaction on a macro scale. Fiction is a matter of human interaction, at the very least between author and the audience. All Fiction is Political.
