    The amount of people calling a rectangle a square in the x mid videos as if a rectangle had less perfect 90 degree angles than a square for some reason. 🙄🤣 Thanks for the video though. Very helpful ❤

    I’m still on the fence about this tent, mainly because of how tricky it is to pitch properly. I’m curious about why in your pitch the top ridge is bowing? Something seems to be pulling it down. I’ve seen other videos showing this ridge as a straight line. Is it because the poles are a bit high? But your floor seems to be perfect with the corners all square. Good tip on pulling the guy lines at a 45-deg angle in order to get the corners squared.

    • @JJ-mf8ru
      @JJ-mf8ru 4 месяца назад

      I found the answer. Dan Durston explains it in his setup video at 8:30. Solution is to bring in the opposite corners that are pulling the ridge line down. Not that your pitch wasn’t good enough already-it looked almost perfect from inside-only that this tent seems to require a lot of effort to pitch according to Durston’s intended geometry 😅

    Do you ever have to go back and fix the first stake? It seems like when you put that second stake in, it would pull that fist guy line out of line. Or does it get corrected when the last stake (fourth stake) is put in?

    What type of coozy do you use to rehydrate your food or do you rehydrate it in the pot? I have a homemade coozy that I use to "insulate" the freezer bag, but was just wandering if you have a better method.

    • @TheWanderingWildflower
      @TheWanderingWildflower 10 месяцев назад

      I just use an empty Mylar bag similar to what store bought freeze dried meals come in. I have also made and used the homemade koozie and would recommend that for dehydrated meals. Most freeze dried meals rehydrate much easier and don’t need insulation. 🌻

    Used to be a fan of the BRS 3000t but then it failed me on a (luckily) short hike. Not sure what the problem was but it was at about 9000 feet and it was cold. The stove simply would not light. Back home at sea level, it lit with the same canister just fine. This was after about 14 days total of use. On the next hike, I took a different cheap Chinese stove, and the first thing that I noticed is that it used far less fuel than the BRS. I then did some research and found that a Jetboil stove used even less than the 2nd stove, and I've used 1 or 2 different models of those since. Bottom line, even if you disregard the quality issues, you aren't saving any weight with the BRS; whatever weight you save on the hardware you will lose carrying more fuel.

    • @TheWanderingWildflower
      @TheWanderingWildflower 10 месяцев назад

      Ugh. That’s a bummer. Ironically, I used BRS many, many years ago, and pocket rocket, then Jetboil Stash (most fuel efficient stove ever). Now I’m back to BRS 🤦‍♀️.
