I'll happily get on my soap box that all fibers have their place. Fancy is fine. Acrylic is fine. And there are bad fancy yarns and bad acrylic. Just use what you enjoy using! Just like the linen/aida fabric issues. Use what you love! It looks like you are staring to settle into your new place nicely.

I’ve crocheted for many many years and just recently tried Tunisian crochet. Once you get the hang of it, it is fun but for me, everytime I pick up the needle I need to review how to do it. I only know a few stitches. I have an Amazon $15 set which included the different size wooden hooks with cord attached and a set of the long metal hooks. Not a fan of the wooden hooks…I needed to sand them down as they snagged. The long metal are great but only so long. I started a small blanket just to practice. I’ll be interested to know how you like it.

I’m loving the colors you chose to crochet with. Very cheery and calming at the same time. I also love the color of fabric that you died. I have only died one piece of fabric years ago and it was a dark orange for a Halloween project I was stitching on. How do you get that peachy lite orange color? You have done a lot. Glad you are getting back to your crafty self.

I feel like it will be impossible to get ready for retreat in time. Then I see all you have to dig through in order to get ready on top of it all. Goodness girl, rest all you can.

Karla: I think you look so much more happier. You will love Tunisian crochet. Watch Creative Grandma Look at some older ones. She has made Tunisian crochet panels, seams the panels together. She cross stitches each panel. I am doing the one with green stems and leaves with lavender b roses. She has a new one now. It has more fall looking flowers cross stitched on each panel. Gave a terrific week.

I love the wide variety of saturated color and the lower cost associated with a lot of acrylic yarn. I prefer the look and feel of 100% cotton, but that can be rough on my hands. My cons for acrylic are the pilling, fuzzy look, and the static it generates. If I am spending hours and hours on a project I can’t afford to dislike the product so I usually buy the best yarn I can afford for things I’ll keep. I’m grateful that I have a choice but I haven’t always so I think it’s all wonderful as long as I can crochet!

Hi! I knit, crochet, and cross stitch. I use supplies for all three crafts that are high end, low end and everything in between! There are different purposes for all the different fibers. ❤❤❤ also, I met Toni this weekend at Rhinebeck, and she was very sweet! And, tall!!!

Hi Karla-your hair is so long! That wrap is so pretty. I love All Hollows Eve. I’m glad you are finally settled in. I know I told you I’ve lived in my apartment for 8 years and I’ve never gotten it the way I really want it. It will take you time to unpack everything and get it all organized. Don’t beat yourself up for not stitching and crocheting as much as you want. We all understand you have a full time job and you’re tired from working and then having to unpack and organize-we understand!!! Just rest and enjoy your new place!! Hey isn’t there someone who could possibly pick you up to go to the retreat (then you could share the parking fee.) You should ask the person planning it. That’s my .02 lol. Glad to see you settling in. Is Baggy close in size to Sammy or even bigger? I had a 25lb cat that terrorized my FIL weenie dogs by charging at them and spearing them like a football player. Baggy may be testing Sammy to see if he is afraid or playful.

I’m so glad you’re finally all moved into your new home! I’ve lived in my apartment for 8 years and I still don’t have it the way I want it! Too much stuff, not enough space! Enjoy it and take your time unpacking. Hope you’ll do a tour when you feel comfortable! I know it will take some time. Enjoy. I hope your longer drive doesn’t stress you out. When I lived in California I always had a short drive to work. Once I moved in with my ex-I then had a one hour drive to work-did that for a year!! Everything is a trade off. P.S. I am surprised you left strangers (cleaners) in your place and left-even for a few minutes. Sorry that didn’t work out.

Glad you are moved and like your new place. Iam happy that Baggy is getting use to everything. Hope the soreness goes away soon. I have a move coming up sometime next year. We are moving from Tennessee to Michigan. I am not looking forward to it. My mom and dad have both passed while here at this house. I have all their stuff to deal with. My husband also passed, so I have to do this with just me and my daughter. Impossible, is what I think. Look forward to your regular videos. Have a terrific week.
