Chat GPT Saves the Mazda MX 5 Miata from Extinction
In today's video, I employ the help of the world's best AI Chat thingy from OpenAI to help save the Mazda MX-5 Miata from being discontinued.

Last year I bought the MX-5 Things Trunk Poppers for the ND Mazda MX-5 Miata ND. Installed them right away without thinking about one potential danger which a viewer commented about just a couple of weeks ago. Accidentally popping the trunk with the trunk poppers at 80MPH??? Is it possible? Are these not safe? Am I an impulsive idiot. Let's find out in today's relatively quick video. -Mister Mi...

Have a 2017 ND and bought a backup camera. I had a garage install it because it was complex and paid them $300 for the purchase and installation. When you put the car in reverse, the camera displays the backup image on the HUD just like Mazda did it! Best $300 I've spent on the MX-5!
Another great video. Enjoy watching your videos. I’m now the proud owner of an MX5 RF 2024 model ordered it in black looks amazing. I live in the UK though bit different weather to where you are. Would you advise under sealing the vehicle the dealership is not saying one way or the other Help
A 3m backed rare earth magnet would hold the belt wherever you wanted and would grab it out of your hand. Dirt cheap too
I bought mine ten years ago . Still working well. If my car is in the sun I put the shade up and crack the top . I already replaced the seat leather and definitely don’t want to do it again.
That paycheck to paycheck is real 😂
As silly as this was, this is exactly the video I was looking for lmao. Thank you! I wanted to see if the OEM sun shade was any good, glad to hear it is.
I was googling for images of miata sunshades and saw this video, WTF? Who needs a video for installing a sunshade?! Well, I might not have needed an installation video, but I did need this video. ;) Side note, the reason for my search was I bought a cheap walmart sunscreen and just cut it down to size. Now to put a USS MIATA graphic on is.

Perfect informative and funny video! Thank you🎉 Getting my 2024 MX-5 in 18 days! 🤗

Planning my first break in oil change in the ND. Good to know I don’t need to jack up the whole car, like I’ve seen in so many other videos. Thx
Hey, I am looking for guidance on an oil change for my ND, but someone appears to have come into my garage and made off with all of my tools? Possibly a neighbor??
Yes it is less money compared to having any shop do the change. Wal Mart Mobil One 0W-20 runs about $26 bucks. Filters at my local dealer are $12 bucks. And my drain plug never gets over tightened and my filter either.
Could you make the music s bit more annoying please.
Hi mister can you do a update on this video for 24 miata and what have you done to yours
Im doing some research on the new MX-5. Been busy with my family this past year. I’d be happy to share my findings. I’ll plan a separate video for my own car’s updates. Thanks for watching!

Does anyone know why the steering wheel gets stuck on the 2016 at high speeds? Mazda Mechanic can’t figure it out
You forgot to change your panties
I love the look and drive experience of the ND MX-5, but given the propensity for the Skyactive G engine to suffer significant carbon fouling due to the Direct-Injection-only fuel system, that results in the need for walnut media blasting every 60,000 miles and in some cases, every 10,000-15,000 miles, coupled with the reduced trunk access, I couldn't bring myself to buy one. Instead, I’m looking at the older variants.
This video is superb. I picked up my first ever MX5 2 days ago and, as you already know, it's an amazing little car. The trunk-popper is a must, thankyou for showing it. Weirdly, the thing I like the least in my car is the airbag warning panel, what the hell were Mazda thinking? As an electronic engineer, I might make a small G-force display to go into this place, something simple that I just see out of the corner of my eye. Big thumbs up and subscribed.👍
Thank you! Have a great time making your MX-5 just the way you like. My gripe with the airbag warning panel is that it goes off if my cell phone sits on my passenger seat. Fix that sensor Mazda! Or allow it to tel the difference between my phone and an actual person. 👍🏽
@@MisterMiyada that’s right, it’s a common problem. It thinks that a newspaper on my passenger seat is a person in my Giulia! 🤣 it’s a sign of how brilliant the car is when the gripes are so small👍👍
@@peterf46 yeah, I forget all of that once I step on the accelerator with the top down!
Stylish!
To keep oil from getting all over your gloves, floor, anywhere else, stick a small shop vac hose in the very top of oil filler hole or tube. Use electrical tape to create a little tighter of a seal so the vacuum hose doesn’t move. Turn on the vac. Then remove the oil plug. No oil will come out. Turn off the shop vac and you immediately get more consistent flow, instead of the burst when the bolt comes off. Also, take a small punch, punch a hole in the old filter and let it drain. Lookie there! Not a drop of oil on your floor! You’re welcome.
😂😂😂
Perfect video. Perfect length. Thanks for the info.
I speak passive-aggressive fluently, so this made my day. This video earned you a new subscriber.
Some of you with ND Miatas may be surprised to find that you need an 8mm hex instead of a 17mm regular socket to remove your oil drain plug. You might want to check before your first oil change project.
Good video! I use the same oil- I just use the mobile 1 filter and change it every 3500 miles. Can’t go wrong!
Do you think the club trim is a little harsh for the ride? Thx.
No need to cut grommets, you can just pierce them (Which is easier, safer, better)
Greta video, I noticed you had a gloss black trunk spoiler, could you send me a link to where you purchased it? the only thing i could find is carbon fiber.
Mine was from Mazda. Came like that from the factory. I think you may be able to order it from any Mazda parts shot.
Great review. Ok so I’ve ordered the 2024 ND3 due to arrive in Sydney early next year. after enjoying the NC For several years. I love the boot / trunk opener. Who supplies it? where do I get it from in Australia? Or do I order it from America? Please let me know. Thanks.

Amazon boxes. Lay those out on the floor. Ur garage will thank you.
Top tip right here!
I have ND2 2022 and oil Mazda Supra X 0W20 should I switch to Mazda's 5W30 Ultra? Do you have any losses on the oil dipstick?
I personally have not used 5W30. What kind of climate are you driving in? No loss of oil for me so far… at least none that weren’t my fault.
Better off going to Costco and buying a case of Mobil 1. 6 individuals quarts. Alot easier to measure 4.5 qts.
"Sign me up for hair dressing school..let’s get this thing done!" I laughed so hard. Sub earned mate!
Thank you! I do honestly want to investigate the validity of this association of MX-5 owners being hair dressers and secretaries.

REally like the video. First off your audio and picture are clear and well framed. YOur information with the accompanying links was spot on! Thank you, looking forward to more like this
I bought this set-up. I would have preferred just having a straight pipe, which this set-up actually is, but for the anti-droning Helmholtz chamber attached perpendicularly to the straight pipe. I'm one that happens to like a droning sound, but it is what it is. However, I love the sound of this Goodwin exhaust when I'm at idle. When idling, it has just a slight sound of a small V-8 idling. I also love the sound when I'm getting down on it also. It's actually a straight pipe, of which, I immediately noticed quicker throttle response, and it is very noticeable too. Quicker throttle response makes for perfect rev-matching. That's what I loved about my old MGB's SU carburetors.
Hey, there hasn't been many car manufacturers that's brought out a 1st generation model with zero problems, assuming they were driven properly. Possibly Honda? Mazda's reputation is comparably flawless. I have memories of the 1st V-8 Chevrolet came out with in the 1955 Chevy's... the 265ci V-8 was an oil burner due to the cylinder walls were polished which allowed oil to flow past the cylinder rings. Their fix, believe it or not was to drop some Bonamy cleaning powder down the carburetor so it could scar the walls of the cylinders. It stopped the oil burning which was amazing.
I agree, most first generations come with bugs, especially when manufacturers try to boldly go where no car has gone before. Toyota and Honda have a few first gen gems. That first Scion xB (Toyota Bb) was so simple from platform to engine to the wheels. The four cylinder in there was anemic, but if you got it with the 5-speed manual, I’d bet it would last forever. Keeping it simple helps keep the markedly bad bugs away for the most part. Thanks for sharing your story about the Chevys. Simple fix won that challenge as well.
Miyada likes Miata - who would have thought 🤣
I was this close to naming my channel Mister Mi-Otter.
I've had two NA's. Loved those cars. Made in Hiroshima the quality was undeniable. The first one, a like new, red, 1990, was totalled when an old woman hit me head on in an intersection because she was blind, no really, legally blind. But in Montana old people drive until they hit someone. The second, a 1993 limited edition, with a hardtop was totalled by a hailstorm in a tornado. Miatas are drivers cars. My favorite memory is a double 90 degree turn on my commute. The speed limit was 25. For some reason, the other drivers always raced to the first turn, like I was going to get in their way. The approach speed was around 50. In my Miata I approached at 50 and continued at 50 through both 90's, watching just how far the other drivers would push their cars' ability. Of course they had to brake madly at the first turn and when I was through the second they were a half mile behind me. Smiles, every time. Although I loved these cars, they had a reputation in the US at the time of being "girls' cars," and I was regularly abused for this by friends and strangers. I like the new hardtops like what you have but I think an asphalt colored car is a bad idea. I was driving a RED one and a woman couldn't see me. These cars have left me favoring Mazda in future car purchases. Presently I like the CX series, in red
Thanks for sharing that great Miata story! Also, if the stereotype was true, then hairdressers and secretaries have been dominating auto cross and canyon carving for the last 30 years.
Thank
The ND is not even called a Miata, let alone any future generations. You already know that. You had to install an after market part in the centre console to have the word ”Miata” anywhere on your MX-5. And that’s what it is… an “MX-5”.

Great nostalgic video my friend.👍 Stock exhaust? I pick up my used 2019 manual, MX-5 Miata RF Club, with Brembo brakes, BBS wheels, Recaro seats on Wednesday. When I test drove the Miata it brought back so many memories of my 2007 Ariel Atom, small, lightweight, agile, tossible, fun fun fun to drive car. I mean doesn't everyone know it's way more fun driving a slow car fast than a fast car slow. SaveTheManuals.
Excellent video as always - entertaining… thank you! One small pet peeve. The “W” when referring to oil weight denotes “winter” not “weight.” “M” is for “more.” More videos please,!
Thanks for calling that W out. It’s interesting that it doesn’t come up more often when buying it from retailers or suppliers.
@@MisterMiyada oh well… just ‘cause I’m feeling all ‘know it all,’ the idea is a 0W-20 or multi-grade oil, acts like a “traditional” 0 weight oil when cold (winter) as a thinner oil circulates quickly to provide protection at start-up, and a 20 weight (heavier grade) once it has warmed up - hence the term multi-grade oil. Back in the day before multi-grade oils, you’d typically run a heavier weight oil in summer, say a 30 or 40 weight, and a thinner oil such as a 10 weight in winter. Multi-grade oil essentially “adjusts” its viscosity as ambient and engine temperatures vary. Science is pretty cool. Please keep making the videos, there’s few more entertaining than yours! I hope you’re enjoying the summer.

@@MisterMiyada what year is yours? What’s your altitude? I’m thinking the high altitude is good for these things. My performance is anything but weak and I get around 40mpg, including sport driving.
That's a good one when I saw the thumbnail I was thinking my Miata gets 36mpg and it's Mr Miata 😂
😂 some have reported 37+ mpg in their ND MX-5 cars. Even on my best behavior I have never seen more than 34 mpg.
