Yellowstone Winter Bison
The Yellowstone winter bison are an amazing example of evolutionary adaptation. With the temperatures
often dipping to -40F, these hardy animals go about their daily routine unfazed as if it's any other day.
Watching them feeding in the snow, using their massive neck muscles to push the snow aside revealing
the grassy forage below, is a sight to behold. All of these scenes were shot in temperatures well below
zero Fahrenheit. I hope you enjoy the video, thanks for watching.

Common Murre Chick Morning

Murre Chick Morning #murre #seabird #nestcolony A short video that shows a few scenes of a month old common murre chick doing what they do. Most of the day consists of grooming/preening, stretching, an occasional nap and being fed by the parents. The little birds don't have a lot of room to move around in so they are pretty limited in what they can do.
Gull Killing Intruding Gull

Gull killing intruder. The following video contains the brutal killing of a sub-adult gull by and adult Western Gull. Please do not watch if you find violence and or death offensive. The young gull landed in the chick rearing territory of a pair of Western Gulls. One of the adults steps in to teach the intruder a lesson and ruthlessly attacks the young gull until it is dead. The adult then para...

Eagle Preying on Murre Chick as the colony winds down. As the chick mature and become jumplings, they leave the colony to spend time at sea with dad teaching them to fish. When the colony thins the chicks become more suseptable to bald eagle predation. Here is a bald eagle that has scared away the adults leaving the chicks in the open for easy picking. #birds #eagle #murre

Cormorant Feeding Struggle
Просмотров 3,8 тыс.5 месяцев назад
Watching Cormorants feeding their young can be a difficult thing to witness on occasion. In this clip the, very large, Brandt's Cormorant chick get quite forceful when feeding. At one point the gull chick decides it has seen enough, the Murres watch seemingly in amazement and finally another adult comes into the scene seemingly to help. Neither bird was injured, this is all just part of child r...
Murre Mayhem
Просмотров 1765 месяцев назад
The Common Murre is generally a peaceful place. Occasionally there are minor disagreements, a poke here and there and it's over. Other times the pokes here and there turn into a battle royal as is the case with this video. These two went at it for over 5 minutes until they finally separated. Neither of them seemed to be the worse for wear.
Baby Murre Debut

This Murre chick is most likely less than 24 hours old. It is so tiny and delicate, yet it is as ravenous as can be, quickly swallowing whatever the parents bring back from the ocean. If you like this content, there is a lot more to come!

Peale's Falcon(Peregrine) feeding on an Ancient Murrelet
Love videos like this. Just the sight and sounds of nature. Bison are incredible tough animals and are often overlooked. Super video, Tim.
Super thanks Henrick. While not the most glamorous animals, I am fascinated with them. Looking forward to the next opportunity to document them.
Wonderful editing! When he finally attracts his mate, it's enough to make one give out a cheer!
Thanks Ana! When she came down out of the sky while I was shooting I just couldn't believe it, sometimes nature plays nice :)
Beautiful close up images of the chick amongst the adults. A nice insight into the lives of these birds👍
Thank you very much, I'm glad you enjoyed it!
This is amazing footage. It is a great insight into the behaviour of these Cormorants👍
Thank you very much, I'm glad you enjoyed it :)
Aw!
Thanks you A 😊
I didn't know you had posted this. But now I have subscribed! That was so intense. Overkill seems to be an understatement. The only thing I can think of to take away from this, is that there does seem to be a great deal of divergence of individuals even within species. And just like rouge bears, there can be rouge gulls (though the western gulls seem to be pretty vicious in the first place.) Really good work!
Once again, I could swear I commented on this. I think you may be correct, usually the adults just rough up the intruder and that's that. Perhaps there just hot heads that take it to the extreme. Thanks for the insight.
Despite warning it stays just nature but disgusting sadistic nonsense to make "science" of. How poor some people's life is that they have to present themselves this way. Despicable.
i've seen this behavior before, while i was surveying a fishing spot for a job. i thought it was a mother gull scolding an "intruder" baby. didn't stay long enough to see the result.
I thought it was a lesson being taught as well until it became obvious it wasn't. Thanks for sharing 😎👍
I found it interesting that the other gull simply watched the attack and did nothing to help their fellow gull. They might as well have been recording the entire attack on its smartphone to later post on their Facebook, Instagram, etc. accounts. That was tongue in cheek and reflects my amazement at how human beings can simply stand by and not help a fellow human being while be viciously attacked by someone else ... and record the entire episode for their social media content.
I agree with your comment about humans more interested in getting the video than helping, that's sad. As far as the birds go, I have often seen this, the observing birds see what's going on but there is nothing in their best interest to intervene. Why risk getting hurt yourself when you have nothing to gain? Thanks for the thoughts and for watching.
Man, this bird just will mot let it go.
It was relentless. The two of us that witnessed this had never seen anything like this before. Thanks for the thoughts!
What happened to gull shall not kill gull? Oh, wait, that's Planet of the Apes.
did it eat the young gull afterwards?
No it did not, the dead bird was left on the ground. Eventually other scavengers ate it. Thank you for the comment.
The tunes coming in at some point were really odd and misplaced in my opinion. Nature at it's finest until the music came in. Meh. Ruined the "vibe" for me.
I'm sorry you don't like the music. Thanks you for the input, I appreciate it.
That is crazy footage, my friend. Never seen that before.
Big thanks Henrick, I really appreciate it!
Wow, so cute!
Thank you, I'm glad you like it!
Beautiful!
Thank you! Cheers!🙏
Oh wow, amazing footage!
Thanks for the good words, I appreciate them!
Another good vid, Tim. You're really tempting me to get into the car........
Big thanks H! The colony has just about all fledged, we should do this next year (along with some other local highlights)!
@@timkuhnwildlife That’s a deal. 😊
Is he stuck ? 😂
He did get out, I ran out of patience 🤪Thanks, I'm always thinking about you guy!
It's a big world out there. No doubt the little dude or dudette is finding it all a bit much in the beginning.
Truer words were never spoken! Thanks H!
Great behavioural footage, my friend.
Thank you, you know I appreciate it!
Oh wow! I will have to watch this one a few times! Great work!
Besides the obvious fight, the reaction of the other birds is just as interesting. I have to admit I like the bird that isn't in the fight that takes a couple of cheap pecks at the combatants! Thanks Ana.
@@timkuhnwildlife Agreed! I still want to watch this a bunch more times. I would love to see what precipitated this! I have seen minor dominance spats here and there, but nothing on this scale. I think early on there are a ton of conversations going on with all the spectators, and then by about half way through, it seems like they are all in agreement with who is right, except that odd one out, who keeps voting with his beak.
It's like the tidepod challenge but for birds
Bros like uhmm😵 help
Amazing work! @1:13 and the last frame are my favorites!
Thanks so much, glad you saw this :)
It's great to watch again! I am fascinated by the chatter, I think what they talk about is both banal, and so very important at the same time. Constant, constant communication. "Everything's fine." "Fine?" "Yes, fine." "Nothing to worry about." "Nothing?" "Nothing, all is well." That's what I get. I would love to see some where they are disturbed.
I love how absolutely calm they are with you. Great vid.
Big thanks Henrik, I just love these guys.
@@timkuhnwildlife I can see why. Please add to the list for my visit.
Beautiful, Tim. You've got quite the spot here.
Thanks Buddy, I got so much good stuff this day, everything just worked out.
Awesome.
Thank you!
Hoje é povo que está resgatando as pessoas nas áreas alagadas.
Low quality? On what planet? It's not overexposed, so if you wanted to it would be easy to fiddle around with contrast, hue, saturation, etc. in an NLE. Sure the autofocus got a little squirrely on a few parts, but that's what most lenses do.
I appreciate the good words and support, thanks you made me smile.
Not bad quality at all. Lighten up. :)
I appreciate the good words, thank you :)
Crazy footage my friend. Can’t believe the eagle was able to do that almost so casually. Wow.
Thanks H. I thought the same about the eagle, it all looks too easy!
I think you're being hard on yourself - I find the quality terrific!
You are too kind Jack, thank you for the support!
Amazing scene, Tim. I like your music choice too.
Thank you, I appreciate it!!

Very nice!
Thanks for the good words!
That's a lot of scoters scooting. Wow.
That's just the tip of the iceberg, there are thousands. Long version coming in a few days. Thanks H!
Great video my friend. Has lots of interesting behavior.
Thank you, greatly appreciated!
More please. ;-)
Always more on the way, I just have to get around to it!
Fascinating animals for sure. They look like they'd roam the savannahs in Africa.
Amazing animals, thanks for the good thoughts!
Love behavioural vids like this. Nice work.
Thanks for the good words my friend!

Tough to watch the poor Murrelet, but Falcon's need to eat too. Great video!
Indeed, predation can be difficult but as you say the falcon has to eat. Thanks for the visit and good words!
Love the slo mo.
Thanks H, I had fun with this bunch.
Dippers do as dippers do. Great little vid. Looking forward to more.
Thank you, more is on the way!
Nice video. Good luck!!
Thanks for the visit
Amazing video. Thanks for sharing & big like
Thank you very much, I appreciate the support!
Did it find it's mom?
I really don't know. It went into the water after a while while continuing to call out. I do hope they were re-united. Thank you!
Nce video.
Thank you very much, I appreciate it.
