- The Common Murre is generally a peaceful place. Occasionally there are minor disagreements, a poke here and there and it's over. Other times the pokes here and there turn into a battle royal as is the case with this video. These two went at it for over 5 minutes until they finally separated. Neither of them seemed to be the worse for wear.

Besides the obvious fight, the reaction of the other birds is just as interesting. I have to admit I like the bird that isn't in the fight that takes a couple of cheap pecks at the combatants! Thanks Ana.
@@timkuhnwildlife Agreed! I still want to watch this a bunch more times. I would love to see what precipitated this! I have seen minor dominance spats here and there, but nothing on this scale. I think early on there are a ton of conversations going on with all the spectators, and then by about half way through, it seems like they are all in agreement with who is right, except that odd one out, who keeps voting with his beak.
