ADDICTED to LISTS New Music Show COMING SOON !
Hands down , Priest “Invincible Shield “… album of the year
@@ScaRy_StyX Cannot argue with that ! A truly magnificent album!
@ I went and saw them on this tour… UN-DAMN-BELIEVABLE… absolutely blew me away…I really hope they release a Blu-ray of this tour
@ They are phenomenal indeed! I hope for a Blu Ray too!
I don't care, Jeff's music never fail me
@@riefkykc3003 He is indeed a great guitarist and composer.
There are many talented singers. Warrel is irreplaceable, but I still think they can find someone who would fit the bill nicely, like the singer from Silver Talon.
It will definitely be a different band without Dane. I don’t have high hopes about it, but I will keep an eye open.
So hard to say. Warrell not only had a very distinct and iconic vocal, but also a presence. That's a tough combo to replace. We won't know until we know. It could be an AC/DC or Queensryche situation where they find lightning in a bottle a second time, or it could go the way of Iron Maiden who foolishly tried to replace a powerhouse vocalist with a weaker facsimile. Still yet, it could go in the Motley Crue or Judas Priest direction where they find an admittedly talented singer and put out a great release but the fans just won't have it regardless. Time will tell...
Its case is different of course. There are times when a change of personnel is necessary. Other times it just seems a bit disrespectful. Of course all these bands are “businesses” so being sentimental about it won’t change much.
@ADDICTEDTOLISTS Yeah, that's very true. When a guy dies it puts a band at a crossroads. The big questions become threefold I think: 1) Do we want to continue as this entity? 2) Can/Should we continue as this entity? As in do the fans want us to? And 3) Do we have the SONGS to be worth continuing anyway? The best comparables for Nevermore's situation are obviously AC/DC and Alice In Chains. It worked for AC/DC I think because they were still a fairly young band when Bon Scott died. There was still a hunger and a momentum there to be satiated, a fan base that wanted them, and their creative muse hadn't even begun to peak. Really all they needed was to find a guy who could deliver the goods. When they got their hands on Brian Johnson all the puzzle pieces fell in place and they put out not only the most successful album of their career, but arguably in the Top 5 of Rock, period. AiC were more complicated. They had other problems internally besides Laynes death to contend with including - from my understanding at the time - substance issues, their own relationships with each other, an increasingly less receptive audience/industry environment, and frankly, whether they even had the desire or will to bother. All of that, not to mention the conundrum of how to go on in a manner that was respectful to Layne's legacy conspired to make their comeback a longer, and much more drawn out process. Even now too, it's a toss-up in terms of fan reception how successful they've been. Hell...I can't even tell you the new guy's name off the top of my head and they've been recording for over a decade now. Some fans love the new material. Many however have abandoned them out of sheer disinterest. Either way, they went from being a mainstream, Top 20 powerhouse to a much smaller, if still well respected act. Nevermore obviously never hit the proverbial 'big time' with mainstream audiences- although in Metal circles they most certainly did. Within those echelons I think their situation runs the risk of going more in the AiC direction. If they find someone really good they'll still have a long road ahead of them in terms of gaining fan acceptance and they'll basically have to come out of the gates with the album of their career in order to make an impact. It's really going to come down to the songwriting. They have to hit fans with such a great collection of tracks, and such a great vocal performance from whoever the new singer is that people a) love the new material, b) can picture the old material still translating well live, and c) most importantly, don't feel like either the band or Warrell Dane's legacy are being tarnished. It's a tough row to hoe as they say. Again, time will tell. I truly hope all the elements align though, as I think those guys still have a lot in them to give. They were a fantastic band once. With a bit of luck and good fortune they still could be again.
Where is The Rolling Stones?
Obviously Rolling Stones are a magnificent rock band. If this list was about my favorite rock albums of all time, they would be there. But this is list about (what I subjectively call) the best rock album from each year. So although Rolling Stones have a beautiful discography, I didn’t find a year that one of their albums topped an album that I chose. Subjectively of course.
No thanks. Even the SANCTUARY is pretty useless in the end
@@LordCastleHail my thoughts exactly. Some musicians are just irreplaceable.
No Dane - no Nevermore. They needs another name. Maybe Nevermore A.D, or Loomis's Nevermore...
@@МихаилБоровых-о1п Yes 👍. Something like that. Name the band differently. Of course than you will have to rebuild to reach your former status, while keeping the name will make it easier. But it can also make the fall longer…
❤❤❤❤❤
You said if we could imagine Metallica without James Hatfield. I will ask you: - Could you imagine Iron Maiden without Paul Di Anno? - Could you imagine AC/DC without Bon Scott? - Could you imagine Exodus without Paul Balloff or Steve Souza? But we have witnessed those. And it was amazing! In my humble opinion don't condemn a move before we get to see it. Let's see! As for the past, it will always be there. Let's see what the future has to bring
@@AltarsofMetal its case is different like I said. But some musicians are the trademark of their band. Whether they are the main composers or “the face, or star if you want to call it” of the band and we have connected their band to their name. Of course lineup changes are part of the game, but personally I get attached to musicians and what they offer on a band. That’s why it’s hard for me to accept Queensryche as it is now, with only two original members and without their “face” and frontman Geoff Tate, or their main composer DeGarmo. That’s why to me the Pantera reunion is also pointless. Time will tell and if they produce new music and it is good, I will have no problem to openly admit it. But for now I am skeptic.
@ADDICTEDTOLISTS don't be sceptical... Just wait. Judge the result, my friend! Until then, enjoy the old material 😎
Of course my friend. Let’s wait and see/listen.
A very interesting list!
Thank you. I am glad you think so.
Dark Side best album of 1973!!!
@@giuseppemaggi2987 excellent album by one of my favorite bands. I feature two other albums from them in my list. But for 1973 the album that I consider the best is Selling England by the Pound by Genesis.
Great info! Thanks!
I’m glad you liked the video. 🤘🏿
I did just what you said with that Towers song and, yeah, not disappointed at all. Being American, I have not heard of quite a lot of these bands, so your channel is absolutely golden. Thanks for the awesome list. (and, just a suggestion, just a bit more length to the sampling of the songs would be awesome. Don't know if that would be copywrite infringement, but, yeah, just a constructive suggestion.
Hey there! I am glad you enjoyed Towers and Madder Mortem ! They are quite unique don’t you think? I’d love to have more length to the song samples, but as you say there’s copyright infringement so I can’t. Thanks for your kind words.
Kittie- Fire, this my favorite of 2024
@@josephmeredith1473 A solid album for sure. 👍

You have interesting opinions.
Hey there. I’m glad you think so 🤘🏿
I believe noor is a 2023 release
Yes, barely. But since I didn’t include them in 2023, I had to have them this year.
@ADDICTEDTOLISTS really enjoyed it tho. Sounded like it could have been on shrapnel in the mid 80s!
Totally biased list. Your actually going to tell me that The Doors beat out The Beatles Sgt Peppers?????? Total Bu**sh*t list.
There's no Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, The Smiths, U2, REM, The Who....this list is ridiculous, with so many ridiculous names....
Hey there. Black Sabbath and Iron Maiden are obviously heavy metal so they are not included in this list. You can check out my video about the best heavy metal albums where you will obviously find them there. The WHO are included in this list, perhaps you missed it. As for the other bands you mentioned, they are more of alternative rock and this list is mostly about classic rock. Another list about alternative rock will follow.
No Dark Side for 73, and not a single Radiohead album? I guess this is just the guy who made this video opinion.
Well there are already 2 Pink Floyd albums in the lists and there’s no other Genesis album. So Genesis definitely deserves to be there. And Selling England by the Pound is a mind blowing album.
@ Is that Genesis record better than Dark Side tho?
Well yes, to me it is. And I think there are many people who think so too. Probably not the majority, but the quality of the Genesis album is undisputed.
1993 has In Utero by Nirvana, so no Radiohead there. 1995 Van Halen’s Balance is one of the finest 90s album. 1997 could be OK Computer of course, but Nine lives by Aerosmith is a beautiful album too.
Iron maiden Killers❤🎸 Metallica Ride the Lightning❤🎸

Not a single album deserved to be best album of the year
Well to each his own…
Very nice picks here and there and we have some good overlap. I also made a top 10 albums recently on my channel. My top album was Myrath's Karma followed by Eclipse's Megalomanium 2 and Innerwish in 3rd place.
I liked Myrath’s Karma, but I think it was not as good as their previous albums. I will check out the Eclipse album, thanks for the suggestion. InneWish’s album was great!
@ADDICTEDTOLISTS I love all the Myrath albums to be honest but something about Karma hooks me right in. I think it's their most melodic and least progressive album but still with that awesome middle eastern mystique.

Iconic band with another great album!
Great list, good work was made, by what metter with Scald? Their comeback is great. They are real "legend", i remember the 90's , selfmade cassette's tape with very bad sound... And with great music. Epic doom from ancient times. Ps. Void's singer is Randy Rampage's reincarnation.
Void’s singer is reminiscent of Rampage indeed. His singing is all I want from a thrash metal singer! I’ve never been a great fan of Scald and to be honest I have not listened to their latest album. But I will do it. Thanks for your support!

@@darwleg It took a while, but InnerWish’s return was definitely worth the wait! Simply great album! Mean Streets is already a classic in my opinion. Incredible band, especially live!
@ADDICTEDTOLISTS About Innerwish, I discovered them only this year when suddenly the video of "Sea of Lies" appeared , a great song along with the singer of Blind Guardian. Then I listened to the whole album and I fucking loved it! About Riot is one of my favorite bands and this year I saw them live on past september in my city (Buenos Aires, Argentina). The group sounded flawless, and Todd Michael Hall's voice is AMAZING !!! PS: I'm glad you didn't put "Absolute Elsewhere" by Blood Incantation in the first place because I think that album is so fucking boring 😂
@@darwlegI agree on everything you said. Isn’t it remarkable how relaxed Todd Michael Hall seems while singing those extremely hard to sing Riot songs? Yes I think that blending two totally different styles doesn’t necessarily work and in Blood Incarnation’s case it did sound very strange to go from blast beats to psychedelic keyboards.
Triumpher kick ass
