13:27 magic missile requires the caster be able to see the target, so it can't be cast when blinded or when the target is heavily obscured (such as by magical or nonmagical darkness as in this case). Now that I think of it, this answer probably doesn't help anyone who didn't get the reference in the first place...

So, I do monetize my gaming videos. But when it comes to professional learning skill, RUclips began *forcing* monetized videos to have mid-video ads, and ... man, that *really* derails learning and I utterly hate it. But ... I dunno. Maybe I should and see if I can just dogpile them into the end.
Should probably make mention (at some point in the future) why the player has to mine or automate anything at all, such as the creation and consumption of science packs.

As a longtime player of Factorio and having beaten Space Age (over 1000 hours, still a rookie compared to many), this is a fantastic introductory tutorial to the game. I'm one of those people that was greatly enjoying your Blender series. Now that you've transitioned away from the spawn of satan that is the Adobe ecosystem, I wish you success as you continue to produce them as well as other videos like this one.

The trouble I ran into with THAT video is that I felt my explanation of Geo Nodes was meh, so I kept re-recording it.Soooooon. <3 And yeah. I wonder if you can do a generic tain just by putting all the pick up stops the same name and put interrupts to where it has to go.
Maybe someone can steer me in the right direction here. Example is I'm wanting to expand out my factory walls into a biter area. I start working on clearing them out, but to have the bots prepared with supplies, shouldn't I be able to request said items for that build out in a localized location that is close. I was trying to use the logistics request with a requester chest and set it to the request of Wall Build out and it request all the materials. Then have that load into a passive provider. But the bots still seem to come from across the factory bringing supplies. Is there a way to use the combinators to make this more automated? And then there is that one power pole that is not being built while biters are slamming into my expansion. Of course this is all pre-spidertron. Once I created an array of spidertrons with logistics ports, I can avoid a lot of this.
Is there anything clever around using multiple same ore stations as a single train group schedule? E.g., I don't have to set different copper stations 'copper out 1', 'copper out 2', etc. and attach different train schedules to them? It would make adding new ore patches and stations so much faster without each time having to manually add a bunch of schedules to it.

Lovely vid full of knowledge packed in one spot! 14:40 can't you do a layered icon where the accent is one layer and the grayscale is another layer to reduce the amount of sprites and use the in-game tinting system? This could also work for the oxidation patterns if every mesh of the different colors is the same, instead of having 4 icons for each shape and color, have 4 icons and 4 oxidation masks per shape and not per color, using the tinting system. I'm sure this sounds easier said than done because I personally have never done such a thing and have absolutely 0 idea how I would ever approach it in terms of creating the 2 layers because usually there's some sort of transparency between each layer so they can blend a bit. I remember trying to make new tiers of belts and seeing a mod do it with masks, but i ended up doing it manually in krita using the magic select tool and eyeing out all the colors that mustn't be selected, then inverting the selection and applying a color shift. That could have probably worked automatically too if i spent the time to make something like multiple layers. Or the ultimate solution - there's so many belt mods out there that i could just ask for permission and grab the art.

Awesome that you made a spoiler free video and noted it as such! I'm only just at the first planet after Nauvis due to playing co-op and the associated time/scheduling difficulties. We also use the mods "hide space age spoilers" and "discovery tree". Have been avoiding all recent Factorio videos (uploaded since mid October). :/

Re: Item Zooping with shift drag. In the case of filling the train with fuel using CTRL and clicking the fuel would be faster it will fill fill all slots if you have enough in inventory.

note for the blueprints and Vehicles section of the video. You CAN make a blueprint of a vehicle with ammo in it you just need to make it from the map view (you might also need to place the ammo from the map view into the vehicle)

8:13 you said pollution being absorbed makes evolution increase. According to the new game map settings screen pollution affects evolution when it's produced, not when it's absorbed or consumed although scientifically it would make more sense the way you said it.
I may be doing something wrong, but I've had no issues using no pumps except for long distances. I get perfect flow and pressure across many systems simply by using pipes and undergrounds. Am I missing something if mine works? (Love your instruction vids, though. I'll be going back over your networking videos multiple times to get them down, as I've been confused by the different ways people have used those in the past.)

The way you can parameterize all these different things is just a testament to how insanely well made Factorio is. I don't think I've seen a game with this many quality of life features its ABSURD. Hats off to Wube for creating something that is so incredibly fresh and unique, and limited only by the players skill and imagination.
