Firing at Hideaki actually makes sense if you think about it, it FORCED him to make a decision, on Tokagawa’s terms, he couldn’t sit there and just get blasted, it forced his hand, if he attacks Tokagawa, then at least he’s being rushed into the attack not at his preferred moment, and if Tokagawa was going to end up fighting him, better sooner than later while he still had fairly fresh troops. It’s also easier for Hideaki to assault the side that isn’t firing cannons at him, also ensuring that went for the easier target. It was a masterful play on his psychology

so a traitor betrayed his team thats how history had shaped japan? good to know
Agora estou curioso.
Wasn't that hard after all
Me: The unification of any country fully into a nation is a very, very, very bloody process, sword, dagger or quill & paper Tokugawa Ieyasu: This gaijin understands!

A conspiracy within conspiracies. Mitsinari could assemble more soldiers and sandwitch the East army but lost.
Toronaga said there wont be a battle.
Y'all saying you're here after shogun, I was here before it ended 😂Cuz I knew they wouldn't make a battle like this (Book readers had already said there wasn't any battle in the book so I saw this coming). FX'S Shogun is still an amazing show, but Samurai battles are something else. Well, I kinda get why they didn't show this battle. The twist of Sekigahara battle is what makes it interesting in my opinion. Hideaki's joining Tokugawa decided the fate of this war and since his character doesn't exist in James Clavell's Shogun, the battle wouldn't have ended the way it did in real history. So they had to replace his betrayal with other regents' betrayals and we already saw this coming because of Mariko's death, so it wouldn't have been a plot twist anymore. It was predictable as hell. And Sekigahara without its plot twist just isn't Sekigahara anymore. Also, for those of you who didn't know, in real history, Ochiba didn't join Tokugawa (aka the real Toranaga)'s forces. In fact, Tokugawa killed the crown prince and his mother years later when the crown prince became older and went to fight with Tokugawa. The real Toranaga was way more cold-hearted and brutal than the Toranaga we saw in Shogun 🥲😅 Again, for those of you who didn't know, this video is only a part of the full episode of BBC's docudrama. You can find the full episode (which is 50 minutes) here in RUclips, just search "bbc heroes and villains shogun". Watching the whole episode gives you a better understanding of these characters.
im watching this and its awesome! This is what happens when a show blue balls you for an epic samurai war...fk u shogun! this is awesome!
Sekigahara was the biggest Samurai gathering in history... FX: lol, nope, too expensive.
We just lost all budget for great costumes.

This Samurai speaks perfect English.

Although inevitable.. Guns ruined the beautiful art of ancient warfare.

Ah the great traitor just below Akechi, his uncle has given him everything he has. Hideyoshi was as poor as a rat and he gave his sister family all they have, power, comfort and prestige but this is the payment for that generosity.
Ahh BBC Heroes and Villains. Taxpayer money well spent!👍
Why the japanese speaking english ? Za ! Shameful display !
It's a BBC video for English speaking audience 😂
Tonci, I have one more question for you, but this time about the game mechanics and the level of realism. I noticed that many SH3 players who want to play 100% with reality, measure the torpedo attack themselves. However, here comes my question: What is the role of the torpedo officer? Shouldn't he be the one making the torpedo attack? Similar situation as firing the deck gun? The captain does not operate the gun himself. He issues an order and has dedicated people for it. Similarly with navigation, engine maintenance and repair of a damaged ship. In the movie "Das Boot" there is a scene of an attack on a convoy. The captain first consults with one of the officers whether to attack ( he is probably convinced, but he is looking for confirmation only ), and then during the charge towards the convoy, all the coordinates are given by the first officer and the captain just watches through binoculars. So the captain shouldn't make all the measurements himself, should he? I'm an ordinary player and I don't know what it was like historically, but it seems to me (I may be wrong) that the captain observes and makes decisions regarding the attack - but the coordination and the attack itself are carried out in close cooperation with the officers. So maybe giving an order to the torpedo officer would be more "realistic"? I play two ways. In calmer seas, I make measurements myself, but in more difficult situations, when I may not make it on time or the weather conditions are difficult, I ask the torpedo officer for help and I only direct the ship to the most convenient course for firing. In my career gameplay I have 92 ...or 97% realism, because I have "torpedo officer help" turned ON. If we compare the game with the scene from Das Boot - help of the 1st officer and torpedo officer should be accepted as 100% realistic. Plus one more thing... love your gameplay!
Hello, may be this could help: For surface attacks the German U-Boats used the so called "Nibelungen-Gerät" (Nibelungen-device) which was able to predict the ideal point to fire off the torpedos upon the default settings which were adjusted (at 3:34) based on the calculation of the own and target speed, the angle and torpedo speed - at 4:33 You see when it signaled the cover between the target and the torpedo default settings. This devices worked with acoustic signals which were reflected by the target and worked very accurate but had a big problem: The British navy developed a receiver that could detect that acoustic signal and their destroyers had to just follow the signal to its source. That is why there was no British destroyer seen when the Germans observed the convoy and suddenly the destroyer appeared.
I was there yall, this did happen
And now the same sick drama unfolds again in Ukraine. Soviets and post-soviets are the most heartless people on this world. I'm Polish. I hope one day we can meet with our slavic cousins from Russia when the tyranny in their country is but a sad past in peoples memory.

These shots are so mesmerizing and respectful. The scene was filmed at Vvedenskoye cemetery in Lefortovo, Moscow. Probably, the architecture of the entrance grabbed eyes of the filmmakers - the place, where the characters of Ford and Neeson meet initially. To be precise, there are the names of the film's characters on the grave - not of their prototypes. The real heroes are actually buried at Kuzminskoye cemetery, also in Moscow, except Korchilov (the prototype of Radchenko) - his grave is in Saint Petersburg, as well as those of the two rest, who died several days after the accident.
