STOP DYING! How to HUNT in Vintage Story | BEGINNERS GUIDE 2024 |
My previous tutorial can be found here: ruclips.net/video/9B5pmVBfCE8/видео.html
Let's talk about the DO's and DO NOT's when it comes to hunting in Vintage Story!
Corrections to the video:
1. @yalkn2073You pointed out that you do not spawn directly at the equator, but rather between the equator and the north pole. It is still a temporate climate.
2. @daisukekage3053 pointed out that you can craft a simple bow prior to reaching to copper age! You can craft it using flax and sticks.
00:00 - What You Need to Know
00:30 - Climates
00:57 - Equipment You’ll Need
04:50 - Passive Animals
06:50 - Neutral Animals
08:30 - Apex Predators!
10:07 - Useful Animals Drops
12:20 - Cooking Hearty Meals

Today we're going to go over everything that you need in order to survive your first day!
Im trying to get into vintage story and these tutorials are life savers, using them as an intro, do make more!
i need more guides come back its been 10 months i just got the game 😅
Any update big man? Just got the game and absolutely love your videos
Oh what a nice video man. Just to get me back into VC :) (I forgot everything how it goes)
Thanks for the video chief, this helped out a lot!
Something i like to do is always use an admin comman of /land adminfreehere to steal from the npcs bc theyve got so much useful stuff in early game
My guy, have you never heard the word currant spoken aloud? Great video though 😄
Waiting for the next video! I really enjoy them!! :)
Really like your videos! I'm looking forward to the next one!
Hi! First time watching your videos and first time playing Vintage story. Just wanted to say you made a awesome video, both info and editing for a good covering of the game early one for a newbie like myself. ^^
We need the Clay Tutorial. Im enjoying your videos ! Get to work. Make us some videos @WaddlesJr
Or you could just dig a 3x3 hole 4 tiles deep (bears can climb 3 blocks iirc) and chase / lure animals into it. Works better as part of a trap fence, but just a hole alone will do fine early game.
nice job. light-hearted and concise without any forced humor or needless rambling. thanks
Bless him, "also like Earth, it gets hotter the further north you go and colder the further south." ...should we tell him there is a whole Southern hemisphere, where it's reversed??
Very useful. Unfortunately, I'm at that weird "post-beginner" stage where, in theory, I know all this stuff, and yet my day 1 always ends with me barely able to light a fire. Time management, I guess. Also my worlds always have me scrambling for 2 minutes gathering the basics that everybody else seems to find in 30 seconds.
The best tutorials on this platform period. I am recommending this
Thank you for the high praise, life’s been busy, but I’ll try my best to get more out soon!
That psx Digimon soundtrack ❤
love the video but the way you say currant is making me cringe lol ill get used to it though
stop saying cur- aunt... its pronounced current
Im still waiting lol
Running the butcher mod and bringing back 4 pigs is the best feeling. I honestly didn’t know that about traps tho. Chickens just got easier
Came for the Vintage Story, Left wanting to play Maplestory.... Music nastalgia
I want your keyboard, mine is so old. DX
I think what you've meant by equator is actually the 45th paralled, the center of the temperate latitude
I've seen deer fight back when cornered. But I was playing the latest non stable version tho
Thanks for the video! Hope you haven't quite given up on the clay video yet!
Didn't know that you can build traps and catch small animals that way. I was always wondering, why one of mynpcs would buy a wolf pup....like...how do you get it? XD Learned something, after playing for 30 hours. Ps. Loved the Digimon Music in the Background XD had to think a while where I know that soundtrack from
I think the author got the equator confused with the median lattitude of a hemisphere.
clay making video Pleas
Heres a tip that has helped me kill wolves and bears in the early game, so rather than staying on their level (the ground) ill make a 4/5 dirt block verticle tower and attack them from there, now if you use this method, make sure you have the hunterbacks equiped as youre going to need atleast 6/10 flint/copper spears and if you have a bow already, then id reccomend bringing that aswell. Now what is the sucess rate of this method you may ask ? I'd say its actually almost impossible to die if done correctly, so for example, when youre hunting bears, always make sure you are 4/5 blocks tall as i think they can hit you from 3 blocks, im not fully sure tho. But from doing this method, it really has made hunting the aggressive animals much easier, same with the passive aggressive ones too, now it can be annoying having to build up, but you can easily get atleast 64 meat plus lots of hides and fat from a single day of hunting and using this method in active areas. The last thing is make sure you are 15/25 blocks away so you can build up without them attacking you, you can risk it and go closer if you keep missing shots but the closer you are means the faster you need to build up, I died last night due to attacking his friend, so I ended up getting him low so I thought the wise decision would be to hop off my tower to finish him off and then this black wolf appears out of the bushes and runs at me so I attempted to build but he wasway too close and fast and hit me faster than I expected so then I tried killing him with my falax blade but I was already at half health so I ended up dying, make sure you check your surroundings properly and don't get too confident because it is easy to make mistakes when first starting.
Great video. Helpful. Where's your clay pots video then eh? eh? ;)
yeah btw the male deer will absolutely murder you if you attack it (near 1 shot without armor)
please make a lets play on this game, I love your 2 videos I saw on this game
DIDDY'S????
720p on 2024?
So many errors and misinformed information in this video. Wow.
You don't actually spawn at the equator. You spawn at an axis based on the settings for your world. If you chose a temperate starting point, you will spawn above the equator; meaning you will have to travel south to get to the equator. In VS (again, it's all based on your world settings), the equator and the poles repeat themselves. If your world is large enough, you will go from pole to equator to pole, and back to the next equator and the next pole, ad continuum. If you restrict your world size, you can actually make it such that you only have two poles (with upper and lower bounds, meaning you cannot go in a circle around your world to let it repeat itself).
Great tutorial! Also, loved the commentary. Eager to tag along and see more :)
Those keyboard clicks are driving me nuts. Am I the only one?
You don't spawn near the equator, but midway between the equator and the north pole.
>eat all the cattail roots >no more cattails How we have foreseen this
Cranberries have lower saturation but I just read they stay good enough to eat much longer than any other Berry. So they would be good for harvesting and storing as close to Winter as possible apparently.
Map since 1.19 is soooooo bad :(
I like the new map, personally. But the beauty is you can use the earlier one in the settings of the world customization. Choose terrain color map.
@@theguyfromsaturn But the animals are still jumping 3 meters up and all of the farm ones are aggressive?
Your videos are great. Hope you are doing well. would love to see more of your hard work.
Thank you for the support! Im hoping to make more in the near future. Every time I start these up again I forget just how dense this game is!
Thanks for making these, so good
Glad you’ve found them helpful! Hoping to get more out in the near future
Very informative and well edited. Thank you kindly from a new player :)
Glad you enjoyed!
Ellinia, the old tree trunk placeee 😍🥺
I loooooooove the maplestory gifs and music. nostalgia <3
Yes!! Maple music is easily the most nostalgic for me - Good times. ❤️
@@waddlesjr631 good times indeed
Thanks for the video, I just picked the game up and I wanted to say i appreciate the tips :) I love building and exploring in games like Valheim, Minecraft and Enshrouded, this looks even more in depth, excited to hop on. Cheers again on the great video!
It is a bit of a beast, but because of that it makes everything you do so so rewarding! Have fun!
Few mistakes in this video
