"A" Pillar Post Fuel Pressure Gauge
Needed to monitor fuel pressure while on track/driving so I installed a GloShift fuel pressure gauge and "A" pillar post pod on my '02 Mustang. I have a live gauge under the hood, but that does me no good while driving. I wired mine in to the dash harness (PITA to wire/solder/shrink-wrap) but got it done. Works well and is accurate with live gauge.

This is about the costs I incurred during my SN95 New Edge Coyote Swap. I was as accurate as I could be with costs. Purchased a salvage title '13 Mustang and obtained the rest as needed. Build/swap was done in two months in my garage by me, excluding the exhaust work I had done and some tig welding on a catch can. Project completed in 2022.
Holley Coyote Swap Oil Pan LEAKS!!

Well if I can do it once, I can do it again. After two months my new Holley Coyote Swap Oil Pan leaks! Not from my work, but a bad weld on a seam. Not fun, but I had to get it fixed. I sent it back for credit and bought another, did some mods, and installed it. All good this time! Lots of mundane work in the video, but wanted to cover it all. Thanks again for watching. Curing the fuel starvation on my '02 GT Coyote swapped Mustang. Problem in high 'G' corners under 1/2 tank of fuel with engine stalling. UPDATE: Went to another track event (scene of the initial issue) and the problem is GONE! No stalling, no hesitation. Ran...

SN95 New Edge Clutch Pedal Mod

Changing my clutch pedal height to be the same as my brake pedal. Too much release void on the stock setup, and I didn't like having my knee hit the dash (so to speak). Although Maximum Motorsports has a part to deal with this, I want the pedal to be secure to the cross-shaft and just had to modify the lower third of the pedal. Pedal now feels ...

Took my recently swapped Gen1 Coyote '02 Mustang to Laguna Seca for a good shakedown. Not my first time there with it, but first time with Coyote power. I have a few minor things to sort out, but was happy getting into the low 1:50's. My friend Dave brought his newly powered '91 Foxbody with 347 to the track on street tires and did a damn good job!

Good job bro
What motor mounts are you using?
Sounds good. I have some questions for ya ?
??
@@glenndiorio8967did you index bellhousing when installing the tkx? I have some questions I need help with the trans swap if you could help ?
@@lukeivanaj336 no need, stock modular bell housing.
What pivot ball did you use? And how much air gap did you have?
Thanks, mine started acting like that, I will try to catch it on a system log but i am affraid of getting stranded.
That was a good one! hope everything is ok with the car (Aside from needing an alignment)
This is Jay BTW.
@@JamesJayReed Yep, all good. Street tires on, no vibration and alignment good. How's the supercharger?
Ouch
Did you dial indicate the bellhousing? Or does it just bolt up?
I’m wondering the same thing
What length driveshaft?
Stock FMS aluminum driveshaft for the Mustang. Standard should work just as well.
Thank you making this video. I have the same issue on my 2004 mustang and have searching for a good solution. Excellent work.
Great video sir!! I have been looking for a video like this for this engine and all you get all the same ones I ended up finding your video off of one of the Mustang forums but it's definitely a great video for installing a timing chain kit on the gen 1 Ford Mustang GT 5.0 engines!! 👍
Am about to pull the trigger and swap out my 3650 off my bullitt for the tkx… any issues with the driveshaft? Or would remain the same length!
Used my stock aluminum driveshaft. Still has clearance at the tailshaft.
💘 "PromoSM"
Yeah, Russ! He’s the man! 👍
Russ is the GO-TO guy!
Good job on the wiring.
Probably the best dual sync instructional video on the internet! Well done sir!
Wow, thanks!
Thank you very much for sharing Mr. Glenn. The New Edge Coyote swap is a process and research that take time, learning, but worth it.
I love these driving POV shots, and the beautiful sound of the coyote motor! It is great to see that daughter came along on the drive to spend time with her father.
Glenn, I’ve decided that I graduated to red group. Perhaps we can recreate this next event. Minus the clueless driver.
Nice work. Good job and thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
Why are you messing with the dual sync with the terminator tbi? It has zero benefits until you go to mpfi, or coil near plug setup. It's a lot of added expense and complexity for zero gain with your current setup man.
You must've forgot, the Dual Sync allows for controlling timing via the laptop/software and not just relying on a "normal" distributor with weights/springs/vacuum advance.
Damn you got an oil leak! That is a racing Holly oil pan too! I hope the second Holly Coyote swap oil pan seam is welded well this time.
Yep. Good thing it was small, but still agrivating, especially having to disassemble the front suspension again. Oh well, something to do. New pan was checked thouroughly this time and changing the drain plug was a plus! As I say, no leak is a good leak. :)
@@glenndiorio8967 Awesome good to know that new pan was checked throughly. These little defective parts can slow down a build, eat up time.
great video, thanks for posting!! Just curious why you need the cam sensor signal to your ECU if you're not running PFI (sequential) or CnP/DIS on the Ignition side? From your system log it sort of looks like when you were losing your distributor signals you lost both the crank and cam at the same time causing your engine shut off issue. I'll bet if you have your System Ignition set to CUSTOM and simply set your cam sensor to Not Used in the drop down it would run just fine. If you're choosing Holley Dual Sync in the dropdown for Ignition Type then it would default to having the cam sensor enabled in the configuration.
You'd think that, but, I had another fail with that repair eleven months later, and this time just the crank signal let go. When it did, it was sudden and not like when the cam signal lost it's count. I'm not an engineer, but having it happen with both cam and then crank, I'd think they need both. Right now, that one's a spare (repaired) and I installed a new one. Challenge is always trying to replicate the problem. Having the System Log is a huge benefit. Then you just have to capture it. :)
Nice warm up session Glenn. How is the TR3650 holding up with the Coyote?
3650 is doing just fine. The biggest thing it doesn't like it 6500rpm shifts or higher, so my shift light is for me to shift, not for the engine. Can't even pull it out of gear. The Coyote loves high rev's. so, I think this year it's going to a TKX setup. :)
I've watched every single one of your videos about this coyote swapped new edge. Incredibly thorough and you cut no corners. Whenever I get around to doing a swap for mine I'll definitely reference your videos. I agree with using spacers for the mounts or the k member, I rather the peace of mind knowing all those threads are being engaged. The new pan did the trick. Any reason you went with Holley over Moroso?
Probably because the Moroso gives nowhere near the steering rack and header clearance that the Holley pan does.
@MarclenChin...thanks...so much information out there is missing details doing these swaps. I want people to know what you can do with a little effort and be able to see/find/know what to do, to solve the issues. The oil pan was pretty simple, first: cost (not much but a little), second: much more pan clearance. Looking at Moroso it doesn't save any depth near the rack, basically a stock pan depth. Holley shaves off 1" in that area alone. Third: Holley gives you a new pickup tube (needed) in the cost. However, you will need to 'modify' the socket for one bolt. Forth: Holley's pan is also 1/2" shallower in the sump for better ground/frame clearance. Holley did their homework and I'm very satisifed.
That is a clean new edge ford mustang.
Thanks Saul. It all started because of you!! Yeah, that's the ticket. A lot of inspiration from what you give and show as well. 👍
Have had two fail in less than 12 months. First time i chalked it up to bad luck, but this is ridiculous. I triple checked everything before i installed the second unit. Car is garage kept, very low run time and miles. Engine has never seen 200° F since being built.
I feel for you. When it happens you're useless, and so is the engine. My "repair" lastet eleven months, had it repaired again and now is a backup in the box. I put another new one on. Expensive backups for sure.
So , i watched your video and its very informative. My question is on my v2 software it has a dual sync optiom when choosing ignition type. So do i still do custom or just pick dual sync. Thanks
i had the samething come up when i was installing mine, i just when and did it with custom since i know it works
V2 software is really old, so it must be Terminator X or other. I use the HP setup and on V6. On the HP software, I have either choice, just as I see on Terminator X software. I've had mine set with either and both work, but tend to stay with Custom.
Is this the power pack from ford? Also what is DLC?
It's Ford, but it was from a 2013 Mustang and NOT a Control Pack like you get aftermarket. DLC is the Data Link Connector or known as the OBDII connector where the scanner connects.
@@glenndiorio8967 so, is it a stock 2013 harness that you re-pinned and reworked? if so, what did you use for a pinout? something online? i'm asking because i'd like to do a diy harness on my '66 F100 coyote swap. this video is awesome! very informative and really instructive.
@@ramrodou812 You need the engine harness, transmission harness and body harness. Depending on Generation I, II, III they are different. I would purchase the harness's you need and diet from there, and much easier. You can still tailor your harness to meet your needs. If you want pinout, get the correct wiring diagram for the year you use. Mine was a stock 2013 harness/PCM setup and dieted from there.
Did you do any temp testing before and after install to see if it lowered the bay temps at all?
No temp testing. I can only guess that it's cooler with the stock hood having no venting whatsoever, and the H.E. hood looks much better on the car, imo.
glad it worked out. New subscriber here. love the car
I love it, that new edge cutting around the track is lovely.
Every little work progress on how to do things is an addition to the car community.
That coyote really sound beautiful and vicious!
This is a great video. Good job
When your dual sync would lose signal did it kill the power to the Holley and shut the car down? I think I’m having a problem with my dual sync everything else is checking out
It didn't "kill" power to the ECU and was shown in my system log. What it did do to voltage was just drop to about 10v. when the engine quit. However, I never had to restart it when this happened, it did it on it's own. Basically felt like turning the ignition key off and back on, but never touching the key. Hardest part was finding the problem because it wouldn't do it with any consistancy. I basically set it to do a System Log from the start and hope to catch the incident, which I finally did. You can let the SL run for any length of time or parameter you set. I set mine for over 1200RPM to start so I could catch it under light throttle.
great video!
Thanks.
What transmission are you using? Thanks for sharing!!!
Using the stock 3650. It handles the power fine, just hates 7k rpm shifts 😃
That Coyote motor sounds amazing on track. I like the Fox in front of you too.
Not too bad and quiet at cruising speed, but who does that on a track. 🤗 Bigger problem is the fuel starvation at 1/2 tank or less on big "G" turns. Going to try the Holley Hydromat to see what that can do to stop it, or just have to keep 1/2 or more fuel in the tank.
@@glenndiorio8967 I like the new hood you just got for it too, It makes that New Edge Coyote swap stang of yours very aggressive.
Heat extractor hood for the win. It makes that Mustang looks aggressive too. It is always a little modification here and there to get things to work.
I'm having a problem with my sniper EFI when it's warm up the idle surges then cuts off was in the process of setting static timing. when I was using the msd to control timing it ran very well but want to control timing with the ecu and now problems. any help appreciated
What are you using for ignition now? Software version and all firmware correct? A lot to check for good responses.
Thanks for the response all fix change spark plugs & wires
How many miles are on the engine? I just picked up used Gen 2 with 60K … i assume you are upgrading some internals to be competitive on track…
Gen1 w/85k. Upgraded oil pump/gears and new sprocket and chains. Everything else is stock. Track days are now much more fun. You can follow my build videos to see what was done. Thanks for checking in.
Look at Mr. Glenn living the life! Thanks for sharing, this is awesome.
Hard work paid off. Thanks Saul, for your channel and inspiration as well. More coming next month with the Coyote at Laguna Seca! 😎
@@glenndiorio8967 Yes sir, and you did a great job with your coyote swap. It was awesome watching you on track, with that coyote singing. It sounds really beautiful.
You are almost there! 👍👍👍👍 It is all that little fabrications that eat up time, nobody tell you about doing this coyote swap in other older ford, but has to be done.
