Kannada tell me mam
Can it be treated at 2months?
were you able to treat at 2 months?
To everyone considering helmet please check sleep curve mattress for ur baby before going to helmets. Or you can just put ur baby in the position same as curve mattresses if u cant afford one
My baby will be 3 months soon. She has plagiocephaly on her left side n flatness on the back. I'm repositioning her but it seems like the rest of head is also getting flatter n overall it seems elongated. Please suggest me what position should i put her so that the upper coner of her head moves to back of her head to make it round
Have frequent tummy time. Very important for strength and muscle control
Thanks 👍🏻
What is your advice for older babies that sleep on their tummy on one side?
Until what age of the baby can be corrected plagiocephaly?
Repositioning is most effective until 5-5.5 months or the baby is rolling consistently. After that, helmets are more effective (if the flat spot warrants it) and they can be started up to 9 months of age (after that even the helmets are much less effective).
Hi! My baby is 3 mos old and has torticollis and plagiocephaly. I took her for an OT eval where they told me to do as much tummy time as possible along with some stretches. Would you prioritize counterpressure over tummy time during her wake windows?
Hi, yes, I actually would, if necessary. I do a play circuit of tummy time, followed by supported side-lying for counter-pressure, followed by play on the back but still encouraging the head turning away from the flat spot. Counter-pressure is what changes plagiocephaly, tummy time just prevents it from getting worse.
Hi, can this work for a 16 months old? My baby has a mild displacement, and when I brought it up to my pediatrician she said it was going to fix itself as my baby grows. It did get better but its still there. Please help me.
Unfortunately, at that age, it is very difficult to change head shape, even with a helmet. As the head grows you should notice it less over time, particularly if it only affects one quadrant of the head (ie. just one side on the back or just the very middle of the back of the head).
My baby is 5 months and I just realized the tilt but he breastfeeds fine. Is it too late to treat ?
5 months old is still definitely young enough to treat. The tilt and neck muscle imbalance can be treated at any age, it is the head shape that is time limited. However, the younger you treat the torticollis the better, especially as it can effect sitting, rolling, crawling etc. I hope you find support near you.
Hi! Thankful for these videos but one important thing that should be added and or changed is for one, the photos of babies in their car seats are not actually harnessed correctly (which can affect how their head sits), and also the head positioners are actually not safe to use in the car seat either. I understand why it’s helpful but it’s not safe unfortunately.
Thanks for that, Aliya 🙂
Watched the first video and I’m 6 minutes into this one but still haven’t gotten any repositioning tips ? Title seems a bit off for these videos
Chapter 3 covers the main repositioning and counterpressure tips. Chapter 4 is Tummy time and Chapter 5 covers remaining topics, like sleep and helmets. The first two chapters are to help understand the conditions of torticollis and plagiocephaly and how and why repositioning works. Thanks for the feedback 🙂

am i wrong but you didnt cover sleeping? my baby has plagiocephely and he sleeps through the night so he sleeps a long time laying down i dont know what to do
Do you have any idea whether head shaping pillows help with plagiocephaly after 6 months. I’ve bought one for his pram, play gym and his bed. I am doing everything I can since 3 months he’s now 7 months and only a slight improvement.
Unfortunately, I have not seen the pillows be very effective. Ideally, at 7 months old, he should be on his head very little when awake, spreading his time between sitting and tummy time with brief periods on his back. At this age, most babies will not enjoy laying on their back for long, especially if they are sitting. If you are worried, definitely seek an assessment with a pediatric physiotherapist in your area.
Mam from where i can get treatment for plagiocepgaly for my baby of 11 month
You would need to find a physiotherapist and corrective helmet company in your area to determine severity and necessary steps for treatment.

We did this but it did not worked for us. Sadly my son’s head still flat now that he is 1yr old. We started doing this around 3.5months. Sadly the place i am with they dont recommend helmet. They keep saying it will resolve on its own. But that is case to case basis, i guess. Repositioning, counter pressure and so fort didnt work. Us parents should be given an option whether we want to go for a helmet or not.
I'm sorry that was your experience. Helmets should definitely be an option if the head shape is still concerning after 5.5 months.
How is your baby doing now?
Awww...God is so good. Wow, the technology was epic. #YeahNoHelmet
My baby has a plagiocephaly on his left side. So what good position to my baby when he sleep?
Try and encourage him to have his head to the right as much as possible. When he is awake and you are watching him, you can prop him on his right side to play.
Hie can plagiocephaly be treated at 12 months??
I’ve searched some information about it and I’ve read that head shape stop growing at 18 to 24 months so I’m sure you’ll have time

Does jaw asymmetry/misalignment get improved once the torticollis is resolved? I am very worried that my baby has to go through this. Should we see some specialist for the jaw?? Any suggestion wouldbe really appreciated 🙏
It does improve over time, particularly if you incorporate release work for the facial muscles. Please find a physiotherapist in your area for specific advice.

Did your baby improve?
Did your baby improve? How ist the facial Asymetrie?
Will facial assymetry also go...how facial assymetry is trated due to placiography...please reply i request you
It will improve over time with proper exercises for the face and neck.
You mention this for those that have flatness on the side if it’s on the back of the head do we spilt side play 50/50?
yes, if it's symmetrical on the back of the head
Hi, my baby is 3 and half month and has a plagiocephaly on his right side, I have been applying counter pressure and holding him most of the time and it feels like his plagiocephaly turned now to bracheocephaly 10 days later!! I don't know if that means it starting to work or if I made it worse 😢
@floral hirra me from the future, believe me when I say it rounds out eventually! My son is now 19 months and nothing is wrong with his head so don't worry x
Hi Amira .. when you say it rounds out eventually, is it after counter pressure? Or shall I just let my child be without any such counter pressure handling? I am really worried. Please reply. He has just turned 3 months with right side flat head.
@@amirash8127 thanks Amira..did ur son have mild or moderate. My baby has moderate plagiocephaly
Hey there. Is there an update to how your baby's head is now?
Give baby lots of tummy time. 40 years ago, when doctors recommended tummy sleeping, flat head rare to none. None of my babies suffered with this condition, and held their head by one month.
Medam my beby sem problem salushn please 🙏
Apke baby ko thik hua abhi
Please
Hello-this is very treatable but your baby will need an individual assessment for you to learn specific exercises to treat it.
My baby is 5 months old and has moderate plagiocephaly, can this work in him?
Did anything help for you?
7month baby applied this exersice ???than flat head be normal???
It is very hard to correct head shape at 7 months of age with repositioning and counterpressure alone, as they are generally not willing to be propped on their side to play. They are generally not sleeping in one position either, which is a good thing in terms of the head shape not likely getting worse. If you are concerned, I would book an assessment with your local pediatric physiotherapist.
Do you have plagiocephaly too or is it just the camera angle?
Lol, no, but I do have facial asymmetry and a tendency to hold my head to the right more than the left, which seems to be making the asymmetry worse. Good job picking up on that! And yes, I have some work to do on my own neck :-)
@@milestonesphysicaltherapys869 o okay 😅 i think i just notice these things because i have plagiocephaly. My asymmetry is like the weirdest thing ever when im just looking in front my nose seems to be in the middle and when i look down my nose is more on the left side it really hurts my brain trying to figure out how this is possible 😅.
