Independent shops in my area recommend I change the valve cover along with the gaskets and won't do just the gaskets. My valve cover has 30k miles but they state plastic covers will leak and won't warranty the work if I don't go with a full job. Any truth to this? $2k is the quote from a couple of local shops.

I can't get the filter frame to go all the way back in the slot no matter how many times I have tried. I can't see anything that's blocking it but the interior cover won't go back on if the filter housing isn't all the way in. Very frustrating!

Why won't mine close anymore?! I took it to Toyota for oil change and they told me i need to replaced my cabin air filter, fine. I bought it myself at auto zone the following day and now the smaller compartment wont close. Also when I tried replacing the filter myself I noticed the smaller compartment wasn't fully closed, the mechanics didn't fully close it.

I toolk batery out to charge and after putting it back there is absolutely no power.only the start stop buton comes on no cluster no lights dead.

1:32 the connector at 1:32 I cold not get that one off, I ended leaving it connected and up disconnecting the battery and disconnecting the harness to the alternator and a/c compressor and that let me move the other harness out of the way

Now I know how to replace only the rubber inserts and not the entire blade. I needed to change vents, and I didn’t disconnect the battery. So i removed only center panel with vents, after plugging everything in ambient lights in center and driver side are not working. I checked the plugs and they are ok. What could I broke? :(

been havig a hard time with my BMW one day I started it and it was shaking rough and misfiring and would go up to 1,500 RPM just sitting there. Started throwing tones of codes of misfire, VANOS sensors, Running to lean, Not enough pressure, drive train. Just a whole load of codes. I took my car apart and as soon as I touched that Frall hose it just cracked in half. Glad I watched this video I have a more narrow rabbbit hole to go digging in order to get my own BMW back on the road. Its still broken as of 12/22/24, this has been the best HOW DIY car video I have wached IN YEARS and I have been fixing my own cars for 15 Years. Thank you and Keep doing what you do!
