Ended up in jellico a few years back and was terrified. Had some very scary things happen there 😂. Never again. Only place in Tennessee I felt scared. Its beautiful though , just like the rest of the state. ❤️

There was a revolutionary war battle here, just east of the Mennonite Church and God’s Acre Healing Springs called The Slaughter Field. It is said 16 Patriots including my great x5 grandfather Patrick Cain were led by Captain Benjamin Odom Jr.. 16 patriots were allegedly killed by Loyalist troops in the skirmish, including my ancestor. Legend has it that they could not retrieve the body for 3 days but Patrick Cain’s widow went out into the night and drug his body into a hole that had been left by an uprooted tree. My hometown….. I grew up in sledge. That little gas station was a “full service “ gas station. They would pump your gas for you , clean your windows and everything. When I lived there all of those businesses were open.

Cull-o-den. I needed this video my late husband lived on a farm between there and Forsyth. I moved almost 2 years when he passed and have missed the area greatly so thank you for sharing.

Im 43 years old, been living in Tallapoosa my whole life. I love it. I live right in the middle of town. My house was built in 1887. Its pretty cool. Dang, yall didn't drive down the nice side. (Other side of the tracks) where i live. Yall shouldve, Oh well.

That southwestern sector of GA is where the majority of counties are experiencing an ongoing minus population decline, with the exception of several ie Lowndes county, Tift, Decatur county etc. However the whole mid to top half of GA is in light green to dark green from west central to the majority of east central and all the way to the tri state Tenn, NC, SC borders. Some middle GA counties are in green but a select few, and a select few counties in the tail south end of 75 approaching FL. The whole coastal area counties are in the green though. Counties are literally their own country, everyone for themselves and it’s either adapt, compete, swim or sink.

I don’t recommend anybody move to Fitzgerald. There IS NOT ALOT going on there 🤣

The Court House burned to the ground about 10 years ago and was reconstructed. The corrupt powers that be are intent on keeping this community down, but they will be pushed out as educated people with more wealth are beginning to move in. There is no "right" to vote, it is a privilege.

Born and raised in meridian! There was definitely more to see in other parts of town. But if I heard correctly it was a holiday that’s why it was like a ghost town.
