The Rock Noob
Добавлен 19 янв 2024
Come watch me learn to cut, cab and polish rocks. I'm no expert and will say and do things that are wrong. I'm sure I will make a fool of myself, but it's all for fun.
Cutting Open Agates and More, #112 and #113 Cabochons.
Cutting open agates and more on my 10" Hi-Tech diamond saw. I also cab a couple of them. The last rock I cut I think is a Chinese writing stone but could be wrong.

Чел чуть без пальца не остался
😆 Luckily it's a non segmented diamond blade, very hard to cut yourself with it.
@TheRockNoob glad to hear that, the way I was clenching my butt cheeks as you got closer 😮
It looks beautiful 💜
Thank you😀
I don't know what the f-ck that is, nor do I care.
OK. thanks for watching.
Are thundereggs, fulgurites?
Thundereggs are formed in rhyolitic volcanic ash and can be filled with agate. jasper, opal or other minerals, so not fulgurites.
Butterfly wings, nice.👍
Thanks 👍
Magique!

Уважаем вас за вас правильный гражданский взгляд на происходящее в мире.!!!❤
Thank you
That was interesting inside.
Agree, was surprised it was a geode, Thanks.
How do you decide where to start cutting?
Sometimes there are pressure ridges that give me an idea which way to cut, other times there are non and I just go for it.
Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
Don't know anything about it but how much is that worth?
I'm not sure the value, but the rough did not cost a lot. For my personal collection, don't know if I well ever sale them so have not really looked into values.
Imagine cutting it in half first and making two instead of wasting all that.
I should have, but hindsight is 20/20.
@@TheRockNoob And that response gets you leeway. We all make mistakes. It turned out great.
Thanks
I didn’t know rotten frozen 99999 billion year old meatball have gem inside 💀

Ooh, the translucent bit was a neat surprise!

Thanks.
Aliens did it ~ Egyptians
😆
@@TheRockNoobmankind is not getting the credit it deserves. Watching you proves many things in many ways it’s just we do it differently now and have lost many skills over the last 5000 years
Yb did it better
Not sure what Yb means but thanks for watching.
Good technique
Thanks
I think the white one and clear one you cut the opposite way as you should have and cut along the waterlines. If you had cut it the other way you might have seen waterlines and banding.
Yeah, I realized after cutting in those 2 they probably would have worked out better if I cut the other way but still learning. Appreciate your comment.
That pattern on the inside kinda looked like the US
I see it now, missing a bit of New England though😆
This song immediately lands this in the DO NOT RECOMMEND CHANNEL pile.
Sorry to hear that, thanks for watching though.
Beautiful
Thank you.
I just bought the Vevor version of this. I’m Noob ing along with you.
Awesome, I'm sure your going to have fun, just remember to turn the water on😅.

Looks like vomit.....
That looks like a fun hobby! I love geodes and crystals and things like that. My favorite is amethyst. Beautiful work💜
I'm enjoying doing it😄. I'm hoping that I can pick up some geodes sometime and make some shorts cutting them open I really like those also. Thanks.
Que bonito queda y que habilidad en el trabajo
Thank you.

It's just crazy how light it was on the outside, was not expecting that. Thanks.😀
That petrified wood would definitely make pretty jewelry...your wife will like that for sure! 😊
She already told me she wants me to make her a pendant made sooner than later😆
This deserves more likes. That was awesome 😊
Thank you😀
Beautiful!
Thank you!
Linda pedra!
thank you😀
Wow
Thanks😀
Well, i dont really know how i ended up here. What the heck are thundereggs?
It is a rock that forms in rhyolitic ash layers, then they can be filled in by agate, jasper, opal, or other material. Cut open to see the colors and pattern. Some can be very similar but no 2 are ever the same. Hope you enjoyed.
@@TheRockNoob thank you! And the video was really neat!
Thanks
I like the mossy agate and your rock jokes
Thanks!, I'm glad someone is liking the jokes, I keep them coming.😁
Beautiful! No fractures and all have some agate! Cuties! I really enjoy your content! Great music! Your jokes kinds suck tho! Lol 😂 Rock on!💫
🤣I won't disagree with you😂Thanks
All interesting and different.
Thanks!
1- the depth is amazing. 2- how in the world! 3- reminds me of 💋 but not red😄 4- just wowie! 5- the color contrast🤩 6- I Love It (for some reason) even tho it's your least fave! 7- Ooohhh😻 Very nice cutting session. Thanks for sharing👍👍
Thank you. Now all I see is lips on that one🤣
@@TheRockNoob 🤣🤣
Curious why you cut straight through instead of cutting about 1/4 to 1/2 through and then turning to cut a ring around so the pressure is always from the outside to inside to reduce break out.
Just the way i've always seen it done, On larger ones, were my blade is to small, I have do it like you described, risk alignment being off and it breaking in the middle were the agate is.
@@TheRockNoob Fair enough. I do a lot of wood working and I make cuts from both sides to avoid tear out. Even if your cuts end up mismatch, you can grind and polish later for a flat surface like we do with sanding in wood working.
Yeah, I guess it's a trade-off on what one would prefer. I knew with these ones being weathered with possible cracks It was unlikely for me to get a clean-cut no matter how I cut them and wanted to preserve the agate as best as I could.
@@TheRockNoob Ok. Just thought I would mention it in case you never tried.
Thanks
