Thank you for the kind words kaushikr. Both of you should apply for training. Regardless of whereever you get training reach out to your deanaries and TPDs and tell them that being separated is having a strain on your relationship and share your concerns. I.e caring for family, raising kids, having kids, emotional strain, etc. There are no guarantees that it will work but it's always worth a shot and most times it does work out.

@drwajih32 I have one query though. Did you achieve all this while doing a non training non surgical job or did you also do a surgical job prior to applying to surgical training. I am actually interested regarding how did you manage to complete the required number of surgical cases. I have heard that we don't get alot of OT exposure during a non training surgical job in the NHS. Moreover, I would be grateful if you could make a video solely discussing regarding how to get done with the required number of surgical cases including types of cases, the level of involvement required in such cases, and how to document them. Thank you so much

So it was covid times and I was working as an anatomy demonstrator. So other than the one online lecture we didn't have much going on. So used to utilize a large portion of the day to send in applications.

It starts with determining which country you'd like to move to and then looking up the pathways. I didn't use a career guide. I researched everything I needed to online.

QI is quality improvement project. A clinical audit is a way of measuring your department's local practise against set standards.

You can start with research associate and research assistant positions but then depending on your qualifications ascend the ranks. For e.g by completing a masters programme or a PhD which will open up more research opportunities for you.
