DBD Greatest Hits. So many great finds, something for everyone. Cringed when you handled cards lacking penny sleeves. The Al Kaline looked like a 1971 Dell stamp. Do you remember Phil Garner's nickname - "scrap iron". The Fleer football cards and the hockey checklists are great! The Elroy Face business card is unique, a tremendous find. The telephone number gives away the age of the business card: CH indicates the telephone company central office followed by the line number which was provided to the operator who connected your call. Pittsburgh had mostly completed conversion to direct dial by 1959. Looking forward to part 2

I am not only aware of Phil Garner’s nickname, but I’ve met him a few times and interviewed him since he’s Knoxville (Bearden HS). He was shorter than I expected. And thank you for the phone number info on the business card. I’ve been trying to narrow down a year, but just haven’t been able to. Truly a unique and cool find. I have the Skybox tri card on my list of cards to add to my collection at some point if I can find it. Drexler and Laettner are not on the cards because it only shows the original 10 players named to the team by USA Basketball. They were not names to the team until the spring of 1992. Plus Laettner was a college player at the time.

So much fun stuff there Jeff. Very surprised you didn’t have the MAC’s finest athlete in your collection who I featured in my last video. Mr. Dave Wottle in your collection, who I featured in my last video. I was obsessed with the dream team, and I do remember Clyde Drexler and Christian Laettner getting the shaft because they were selected later in the process so they missed a lot of the marketing opportunities. They were not included in the 10 player box set of starting lineup figures, which was a prize possession of mine that I got rid of for some reason 10 years ago . Very, very fun stuff.
