    I don’t care what anyone says a double clamp on a hose looks a lot sturdier than a crimp fitting. Clamps are tightening and crimp is a crimp. Same as a plumber they tighten bolts

    What are the issues this module cause when in need of replacement? I have a 2004 e-150 with the 4.6 engine in and have been having loss of power/ hard time shifting/ shaking etc… I pulled a code B0198 rcm restraint control module. I just purchased a new ecu rebuilt that claim to fix issues I’m facing but I may be wrong. I appreciate it in advance of any answer

    Great video, one little tip I could add is that when using double hose clamps you can get a stronger seal/clamp by installing the clamps so the screws are on opposite sides of the hose from eachother, the can be setup so that the screws both face the same direction but are still on opposite sides of the hose. This is how its done in the marine industry. Great video!!

    Good call, thanks for posting. Makes me wonder if throwing a stainless steel hose clamp over that failed crimp would stop the leak without removing it.

    Did this on a BMW. New lines were stupid expensive so I took the old ones to a hydraulics repair shop and they replaced the hoses /fancy shrouds for $10. Took them about 10 minutes. I paid, then come lunch I ordered pizza for their whole shop. Hoses lasted for the remaining life of the car.

    Spraying brakes cleaner inside of the rubber hose will lubricate it so it will slide easier on the metal connector. Brakes cleaner evaporates quick and leaves no residue

    If you don’t like worm gear hose clamps then you can buy single ear hose clamps.

    I have a question. I understand this video was uploaded so long ago. But what's the reason why the transmission line connects to the radiator. What is the reason why the transmission line is connected to the radiator. I just had an issue with mine but it has a smallest bit of transmission hose that goes into the metal line so I'm not sure what to do about that. Maybe it just needs the rubber part that needs to be replaced on it I don't know. I have a lot of things that are in the way and I'm not sure how to get to it. I want to mention underneath there's a lot of coverage that protects the engine and transmission. So I'm not sure how I'm going to get to it. On the other side of the line. Where it's connected to the transmission.

  • @johndee68
    @johndee68 4 месяца назад

    Why does it leak in the first place? Is it the hose inner shrinking maybe. Or is it the hose becoming brittle even after years of being in a heated environment. Or could it be the crimping just needs an additional crimping down on it by some method if the correct tools aren't available. I'd like to know if anyone has tried just crimping the fitting again and see what happened. Good video. It's the only one I've found which has the identical fitting to the Australian Holden vehicles.

    Thanks for the in-depth explanation, now I just have to try this on my 2011 Avalanche as one of mine is leaking. It looked like mine was leaking from the tiny pin hole on the fitting but after watching this video something tells me different. Looks like a simple reasonable fix, just have to find a good quality clamp to trust holding whatever pressure that line holds. Thanks again for taking us along, I'll be dealing with mine in the next couple days.

    You should alternate the connection points on the clamps. That area has the greatest chance of leaking.

    This isn't something I would go "quick and dirty" or cheap on...if you can get the lines out like you did you can REPLACE THEM. Transmissions ain't cheap and it's way less effort to just replace them.

    This type of hose clamp has sharp edges and can cut through the rubber pipe if you tighten too much. That’s why car manufacturers never use them. I would put a piece of rubber between the clamps and the hose, like maybe a piece of an old hose
