Im sorry but it's just a bad video, not only its stretched to the maximum (only 2mins of actuall content), clickbait title with no name of the software that is "much better" than Fusion 360, and the conclussion itself is just IN MY OPINION wrong you are comparing a advanced CAD software with "CAD for Artists" software with half (if even that) of the functionality that is also non parametric so it's useless for designing anything with even a slight breeze of complexity. I hope it didn't come as a hate, Im just writing what I genuenly thought about the video also Im sorry if I did any mistakes english is my seccond language. EDIT: Also check out solidworks, much cheapper and IMO better than Fusion 360 and no doubt in my mind miles ahead of Plasticity.
Design Engineer from the Productdevelopment here: just get Onshape! Its a powerful professional CAD which has even special offers for Hobbyists and RUclipsr. They currently kick asses of other CAD companies because a number of reasons: fair and broad pricing, good trial possibilities, strong CAD functions, 100% cloud native. In my opinion, currently an absolute no-brainer if you are looking for a cad software
ZERO chance AutoClown will fix ANYTHING in Fusion. I have been paying them since 2014 and they still do not have a native installer for Apple M series processors. Yep, that is correct. You have to run the installer in Rosetta, and some sub components, because clearly after all these years no one can figure out how to solve that. Quitting my license this year. Thanks for the vid, I will try plasticity.
I have about 200-500 crashes a year in Autodesk Fusion on iMac. I have learned to save often, but when the model gets large, that is frustrating too since saving can easily take minute and you can’t do anything while it saves. I have professional licence. I only do solid modeling about 1000 hours a year for fifth year, still cant understand how the surface and other witchcraftery works in it so I avoid them.
@1:04 Psycho Cybernetics..??? That is one of the most excellent books available to mankind, I hope you get a chance to read it (a few times). Thank you for an excellent video and for helping me decide which route to go on my search for a better CAD application. 👍
Of course, and thank you for watching! Also, I agree. Psycho-Cybernetics is a great book. I need to read it again. 😄
Stupid comparison, and wasting people's time.
Sounds like skill issue.
I'm at exactly the same 3D printing juncture, tired and getting bored of printing thingiverse designs, but there aren't enough hours in a day to get my head around becoming proficient at using complex 3D modelling software at my senior age. That's after one settles on what one hopes is the best design software for ones needs, And more importantly ones current abilities. Many people offer in-depth tutorials and although willing to share their vast knowledge covering all aspects of this extensive and potentially expensive subject for the average novice, biting the bullet and paying their extortionate subscription plans, for 'simplified' online CAD software, is where these developers have gotten greedy. Gone are the days when one could just pay a one-off price for downloadable software, it seems literally everyone has joined the same insidious subscription bandwagon, in order to fleece money out of their customers with recursive payment plans. Fact is pretty much 'everything' we buy nowadays is not owned, we subscribe to using it, because it's been attached in some convoluted way to a recursive subscription.
The history-based parametric modeling feature in Shapr3D was announced in July 2023 and was officially released out of beta in April 2024.
Yep, I'm glad they added it.
Could you make this modal in blender, like video tutorial?
fusion 360 vs shapr3d with payment which one is better
Solidworks is way better
You really do look sad..😂
LOL. I went through all this with Fusion and I was paying for years. When you would repost bugs and issues the support team pretended like your the first person to bring it to their attention. Quick google search showed its a well known issue going back a while. Overall Fusion just limited my workflow and I needed to move on so I could get more done.
Best advice to get legally sued
you're the reason they nerfed this stuff.
Yeah, that's probably true. 😆🤷♂️
I've been using Fusion 360 for years.... free edition, Autodesk has no way of tracking how much I make off of it....
unless you post videos online about what you sell 😉
sickly false human being

What modeling software will work best for you depend to a huge degree on what your particular needs and circumstances are, what your project calls for. I worked with OnShape for some projects and I think it has worked well. It has a free version that allows you to test, learn and use your files, but they are also only publicly saved and available online in their "community" - for private storage you need to pay a lot more. I should also mention it is a program you run in your browser not locally. It was initially created by people from Solidworks so the modeling technique is similar. Other options are Rhino with Grasshopper, and of course expensive but very capable: Solidworks, Alias and Catia.
So where's the cam and material resistance analysis
Americans are so naive :) Who will ask what program you use to create your models? Or will you literally report everything to Adobe? :) This is so stupid :) Plasticity is a very crude program and learning it is as difficult as Blender. The tools are completely illogical and crookedly made. In addition, it is not suitable for creating engineering things with a construction history.
He uses Plasticity now
Is it possible if I'm from Malaysia? Since I heard not all region is available.
Have you checked out SolidWorks? I was taught this in school over ten years ago, and it wasn't until recently I realised just how underrated and good it is. I am looking into starting some woodworking to fix some stuff around my house, and for that Blender just isn't going to cut it. I need do be able to do Solid Modeling (parametric, if you will), but forking out all those buckaroos for Fusion 360 is just not going to happen. They have a very nice license for creators that is about 45 dollars or so a year, and that works very well for me and what I do. Anything more artistic/free-form I will stick to Blender for.
You need a A series GPU not a gamer GPU saying your PC is high end for CAD is misleading.
Too many words for nothing... If We talk about parametric modeling, for me, the only software is Solidworks.)))
Great video. It feels like a whodunit movie trailer type feel off the top which made it zip along. Good choice in that. More importantly it is exactly what I’m asking myself. I only know fusion and I’m paying the full license which just went up yet I’m using only for my own personal projects, nothing commercial. I can write the cost off but it’s still way too much money. I’m on a Mac and that alone comes with a whole set of problems like orientation getting stuck to any mouse movement that can’t un-let go easily. Autodesk knows about the problem. They make you update it every couple of weeks but this problem is never addressed. It hangs and crashes continually and that is sooooo frustrating. The learning curve for a newbie is steep but once you get the hang of it the software becomes a bit easier to use. I want to move on though. The crashes don’t justify the costs which I am told by them are going to skyrocket in the next year. Blender is an option but will require going through another steep learning curve I think and I would have to set aside time to do that. I recently came across a plasticity demo, thought there was potential and bookmarked. Now that I happen upon your video I’m going to give it a good look over. I want to dump fusion so badly. Jacking up the cost, forced updates when it’s already working, issues with Mac and mouse / view cube stuck in orientation constantly and crash after crash. Thanks for posting this well made video. I’m a professional Editor and you did a fantastic job dude. Cheers
Plasticity
I have recently started using Fusion 360 again after a few years of not using it - safe to say I haven't been impressed with how buggy it feels, particularly when dropping in STL files to modify. Over the past year and a bit I had been using Onshape and that was great but it's expensive. Fusion seems to offer more 'inclusively' for what you pay for though... It all depends on what you need these packages for at the end of the day. Larger companies that need seriously complex designs will use more powerful platforms for their engineering work - Fusion is an intermediate business package that can generate some decent stuff but it isn't going to be something you would want to use for designing a space ship.
It runs on Linux, which is a win for me. Been looking for something like Fusion 360 for Linux which is more intuitive than FreeCAD
Fusion is awesome till your need to change something
I tried implementing Shapr 3D with students. It's still WAY too new and buggy.
Blender is the best!!! Hands down.
Plasticity is shit
Does this still work?
Yes, but the number of points you receive from downloads has been reduced.
Former Autodesk devotee, here, telling you that the quality of their products does not equal the cost, the resource-intensity on your workstation, nor headaches you suffer. I am so glad other products are taking that company's market share. They do not offer the same quality they once did and it saddens me to say it. Fusion is just another example of what could be a great product at a more reasonable price. I have not used it since its inception, but I did not like how convoluted storing files to my local machine was. I was (STUNNED!) unaware of it's $1000 limit. That is absurd! If I used a saw and wood to produce a primitive piece of furniture and the maker of the saw limited how much of these pieces I may sell, I would chuck the saw in the garbage. It is just a tool. Well, if the saw were as expensive as Fusion, I would try to resell it. Nope, can't do that. I would never by that brand again. I hope Autodesk C-suite will one day read this comment when they find themselves unemployed.
Did you crete this stupid ads on youtube about crypto?
Ads about crypto? No.
@@kevbot. Ok, Just FYI i reported many films to YT, about probably crypto scam. That was about 2024.01. Currently, all ads/films/channels has been removed - i can't find any. I also checked my reports to YT. That was many similar channel with probably your face - i am not 100%, but maybe someone stolen your face and generated scam using AI.

@kevbot. What is very strange is that all these films/ads had the phrase 'MEV BOT' in the title.
inventor might be an option
As an engineer I'd recommend you to try Solid Works, probably you'll find it a bit hard or as you said with blender, learning curve steep. But it's a wonderful software for 3D modeling and then putting them into blueprints.
Sharp3d can be totally free, if you’re a student or if you provide feedback every week or so on possible improvements and test beta versions to see if they work
Not parametric, and measuring or changing measurements is quite a process. Its almost there, but not quite yet.
I have quit Fusion multiple times, wasting time on other softwares and then having to go back to Fusion. It is very time consuming and frustrating. The thing that annoys me the most is that the scetch tool interface is hard to see and they have taken all old commands and thrown them out the window. I will give it one more shot.
Great videos ! Just subbed
Thank you!
So is it finally parametric or not? Hope that someday Fusion360 will end the subscription BS and sell an offline version like back then. People just have to stop paying for all subscriptions. Website plugins subscription, Text Editors subscription, Image Editing subscription, etc. 🤦♂
OnShape has been great so far. Much better than plasticity for 3d prints
this video is like when you try to look up a cooking recipe and they give you their whole fucking life story first. plasticity is nice but its not good for 3d printing.
I'm sure I'm one of many who watched this video and wondered, has anyone looked into using Onshape for anything other than hobbyist use?
non-parametric = non-starter
