I found this very motivational. Like, ignoring the 12bucks income, the whole process and the good attitud can be use for many other projects. Thanks for this video Kev!
Perhaps as a SolidWorks expert and Product Designer I should’ve tried selling 3D prints on ETSY rather than AI generated artwork for the last 12 months! Oh well, live and learn. Nice video too
I started selling 3D models on CG trader the last year and i made about 350 US dollars , now i bought myself a Resin Anycubic M3 Printer and i started working on my previous models to be print friendly which i wish by the end of the year i can make at least 50 dollars per month as a stable income and increase it gradually keep up the good work mate
It is incredible the amount of effort people put to create a channel to show they make a sacrifice while doing something to make money but in the end, the real goal is to just have a content subject video to start winning money from RUclips.
Forget those $12 - its still some money and mostly people appreciation and support. Ofc it worth it if you like to do it(you would do it for free, but you got paid... $12 for now... but the future is there waiting for you). Its all good to making models in CAD, but how to/you come up with what do design(what kind of product of purpose or look or else)
Great video but you should definitely try and go into more detail on what and how you did things, like I wouldve liked to hear why you chose those products, how you advertised them, and what you spent most of your time doing.
Thank you. I've run into to many roadblocks along the way, but I'm past those now, and I'm going to be producing a lot of designs and content from here on out! I can't wait for you to test them out!
The reason things like this dont sell very well is probally cuz like toys are the highest demand right now ive donne some research and acritulated toys sell the best thats why i went from onshape to blender
I think you're right, maybe beginners should give models away for free just to build up their profile... But damn, 12 dollars is not gonna be enough to buy my favorite pizza.
My first ever design was a drone payload release with no moving parts. If I can do that with absolutely zero experience, anyone can learn to create 3D designs
That is a good question. I'm not entirely sure to be honest with you. A lot of people have designed Pokémon characters, Anime characters etc. and haven't gotten in trouble (But they may get in trouble in the future). I think the real danger for getting sued is when you sell the design on Etsy or other websites. The IP owners won't be happy if you are making money off what they own.
@@kevbot. i was getting ganged up by admins and some other people saying I could get sued and they threatened to ban me because of it. And they did. So i had to take down all my designs to not cause anymore trouble. I joined the group a few days before and this is what i got😭 plus calling me a spammer and scammer for posting 2 times a day. In reality like what you said, a lot of other people are doing it as well. If that’s the case then sure. But it’s hypocritical to say that to me (a newbie) when other people are doing it as well, even earning thousands on patreon alone. Very little people could understand me in that group. But it’s best to not be there anymore 😮💨
Thank you! Assuming you already have the skills to make 3d models, the next step is uploading them to websites where you can sell them. Like cults 3D, printables, Patreon, ect. Then I would promote your designs on your social media and also free places like Facebook and reddit 3d printing groups. I hope this helps!
I studied 3D for two years and during that time I earned $100 from it. until one day I made $40 right away. Since then there has been no more profit, but I continued to study and make a portfolio. 😢
Believe me this is the truth do not believe other peoples who said I sell thousands of dollars they maybe so little or work with the site that sell or 3d printer company I think or has genius ideas
Thank you for sharing this video! I like this video because I need inspiration and a realistic outlook on trying to sell my own models. I’ve been trying and failing for several years with model selling, and I constantly feel like I’m hitting walls and dead ends. I know that a lot of that is the fear and doubt. I’m going to be using this video as a way to gauge my workflow and success.
Nice video. I'm just looking into selling my designs. This was a useful video, warning me not to expect too much early on. Just noticed the video is 5 months old. Have you any updates?
Thank you, I'm glad the video helped you out! I had to take a break from designing for a bit due to unforseen circumstances but I did get more subscribers, and I have been getting more sales in the mean time. I'm going to really be ramping up my designs in the weeks two come and I will do an updated video when I have more data and information.
3d model selling is a marathon, not a sprint. You have to be patient and prioritise quality over quantity.
I completely agree.
bro i just subbed because of ur honesty and realness and not saying u earned thousands etc
Thank you man, I appreciate that! 🙏
Nice video, straight to the point. Keep creating!
Thank you!
pretty cool video, I liked basicly everything about it, keep it up!
Thank you!

$350 is really good, and I'm sure you can hit the 50-dollar a month mark. Are you only selling on CG? Also, thank you for the kind words, mate!
Yes i do sell on CG trader and Artstation as well , I can send you my link if you want @@kevbot.

Yes i do sell on CG trader , dunno why my comment got disabled every time @@kevbot.
I love the coaster design, how did you get around having the demarcations? I'm relatively new to 3D
It is incredible the amount of effort people put to create a channel to show they make a sacrifice while doing something to make money but in the end, the real goal is to just have a content subject video to start winning money from RUclips.
I started selling designs before I made RUclips videos. I was just sharing my journey so others could learn from my experience.

Hey dude! Nice video, regards The Swedish Maker
Thanks man! I love your videos too!
Thank's
Great video but you should definitely try and go into more detail on what and how you did things, like I wouldve liked to hear why you chose those products, how you advertised them, and what you spent most of your time doing.
Thank you! I will definitely go into more detail in a future video.
Im glad u kept going... i need designs to experiment with 🙌🏾😍😅
Thank you. I've run into to many roadblocks along the way, but I'm past those now, and I'm going to be producing a lot of designs and content from here on out! I can't wait for you to test them out!
Good luck, keep it on. ❤
Thank you!
Can I use the community edition for selling designs online? Thanks!
The reason things like this dont sell very well is probally cuz like toys are the highest demand right now ive donne some research and acritulated toys sell the best thats why i went from onshape to blender
You mentioned Patreon. How are you usung it, in terms of 3d printing??
I use Patreon to share my designs. I offer a commercial license on there for people who want to sell the prints.
I think you're right, maybe beginners should give models away for free just to build up their profile... But damn, 12 dollars is not gonna be enough to buy my favorite pizza.
Yeah, I agree.
great video its a shame it didnt get alot of views
Thank you!
My first ever design was a drone payload release with no moving parts. If I can do that with absolutely zero experience, anyone can learn to create 3D designs
I agree, it just takes some practice.
keep it up
Thank you!
Nice video
Thank you!
Hi, are you able to design like pokemon characters or any other anime or power ranger characters? Without getting sued?

This means a lot to me. Thank you!

Great video thank you
But hiw can someone start selling 3d models files ... What are the step ?
Thank you! Assuming you already have the skills to make 3d models, the next step is uploading them to websites where you can sell them. Like cults 3D, printables, Patreon, ect. Then I would promote your designs on your social media and also free places like Facebook and reddit 3d printing groups. I hope this helps!
+all your files are permanent digital assets
Make one a day and see what happens in a year
You are 100% right. That is a great way to think about it.
I studied 3D for two years and during that time I earned $100 from it. until one day I made $40 right away. Since then there has been no more profit, but I continued to study and make a portfolio. 😢
I stopped pricing my files, and have focused on better quality. I made $12 before making everything free
Believe me this is the truth do not believe other peoples who said I sell thousands of dollars they maybe so little or work with the site that sell or 3d printer company I think or has genius ideas
Bro no joke why do you look like AI real life is starting to get harder to tell the difference haha
Maybe I am AI lol
Oh man your name is Kevbot yep he’s AI I knew it 🤣
cool cool, but you look like ai lol
I am ai 😉
You talk too much about nothing important. Please just get to the point and quit dragging it out.

one tip for the video here. Don't use the $100 bills as this confuses a lot of viewers guaranteed!
