I used to be in favour of early abortions. Better to abort the pregnancy before it develops into a baby, than have a baby born that is unwanted and would lead to hardship. I can see the logic. Then my at the time fianceé got pregnant, which we believed was not possible due to a medical condition she had... ...long story short her miscarriage hit us both hard. Her more quickly as she had a mental breakdown that ultimately ended our relationship and our wedding was cancelled. The stress of losing a baby broke her. To have that hope given then taken away, it was horrible. For me it was a longer more drawn out process. As I've gotten older and reflected on the family I almost had, I realised how much I mourned something that I intellectually believed wasn't real. It's not a baby until it's developed, right? But as I dug deeper into the biology I could find no clear consensus, and more and more I was convinced; life begins at conception. I find the whole idea of abortion now to be abhorent, but I try to remind myself that many women are brainwashed by powerful political groups to truly believe that they're not hurting anyone. I could never forgive someone who would abort my child; if they murdered my baby I firmly believe I would kill them for it if given the chance. I feel that strongly. I would like to think I could accept someone who has had an abortion in the past, if I can talk to them and ensure they at least feel remorse and I could convince them never to do so again. I don't even believe in an exception for rape or incest. Why should the innocent baby have to die because their father committed an act of evil? Yes the baby might be deformed with incest. Are we really going to debate eugenics? Their life is still worth living and as a disabled person I resent the implication that a baby born disabled is better off dead. Unless completing the pregancy would be fatal for the mother. In-utero baby murder is still baby murder, and the only justification I can see is if killing one life prevents both mother and baby from dying. That's not murder, it's saving a life. So yeah. That's my position. Extreme I know. Emotionally charged and filled with personal loss, yes. But I can't deny what I believe is right, and as an atheist, I come to this conclusion on my own without religion; which really seems to confuse the "pro-choice" crowd.

Oh, it's not platform censorship on RUclips that concerns me; it's new authoritarian policies and policing from the UK government that have seen people arrested, pushed through 24-hour courts, and convicted of "hate speech" or "public order" crimes, and sent to prison for as much as 2 years! Yes seriously. In this country criticising the government, especially on issues like immigration, can land you in prison.

It's worse than in Canada. There are dozens of people being arrested for "public order" and "malicious communications" crimes. They get between 3 and 30 months in prison depending on how much the government wants to make an example of them, often in 24-hour courts without appeal or legal representation. The level of authoritarianism on display here is ridiculous.

Respectfully, there was voters fraud in 2020 and this wasn't the first time. Hillary was supposed to win in 2012, but it wasn't padded enough. There was also fraud this election, some of it was caught. As for the 2020 election court cases; they weren't heard. They were dismissed. There are video of people taking votes and putting them through the machines multiple times. I could go on and on, but all I'll say is, question everything.

Trump's claims are based solely on his and his surrogates' claims to the media without presenting evidence; the Dems, on the other hand, present and refute actual evidence. If I make an effort to try to be as objective as possible, I have to favour the side with the most evidence to back them up. Through the above means and the use of "political action committees" (PACs) and Super-PACs -- which are ostensibly independent from campaign finances but you'd have to be _incredibly_ naive to swallow that crock of sh*t -- bribery is legalized and funding regulations are skirted. This, plus the countless other forms of corruption in DC, such as the insider trading lawmakers take part in (see: Pelosi's brazen rejection of proposed laws limiting lawmakers' involvement in the stock-market) is why the system is utterly broken. Lobbyists and the corporations they represent are lawmakers' true constituents; not the _People._

I'm a conservative booktuber. I just recently started doing books-only videos on my channel. I used to do mostly Prepper and Firearms related videos, but my love of books prevailed!

I'm hoping we'll see a shift in people over the next few months. As much as it seems unlikely, the election win by Donald Trump seems to have been the wake up call many needed to abandon the more extreme elements of progressivism. We may see a more balanced mix on social media now, who knows.

What policies make you feel that Trump is so bad? His policies for 2024 seem to be quite focused on bringing in jobs, protecting the border, and defending free speech and ending woke ideology in government. How does that benefit the rich?

You're right that thumbnails matter for the casual viewer, and putting effort in is worthwhile; but at my size a random hiccups in the algorithm makes a far greater differences, so chasing small issues like this is low priority. I'm better putting my energy into actually making more videos if I can as a small audience of enthusiasts is far more likely to jump on something like Patreon anyway, and that kind of audience doesn't really care about thumbnails etc. they're here for the community and interactions. I appreciate the comment all the same. Hopefully if my health steadies I can make time to do everything; but as it stands just regular uploads is hard for me, so I'm best sticking to raw and unedited videos with auto-thumbnails until I can reliably spend time editing. It's all a balancing act with my limited energy and unreliable health. Thanks again for the comment though.

I always presumed that authortube was just an offshoot of booktube for people who wanted to promote their self-published books. I really should give it a look and see what it's like for myself.

@@TornadoCreator I'm sure some authors use it for that reason, but the majority of us are creating videos for other writers. The goal is to support, encourage, and give tips to others whether they are self-published or traditionally published.

Those are some of the next videos I want to post. I just need to get myself back into a routine.

There is a community of people out there. I still regularly get messages like yours so I know they're out there. They're just mainly viewers rather than creators. It could be that the first well made consistent non-leftist booktuber might end up as a rallying point for those wanting politically diverse or politically neutral bookish content.

I am grateful for you making this video and it is encouraging to me to make my own book channel. I am tired of reading highly rated books to only find very disheartening political ideas interwoven in the narrative. I find myself rating most promoted books lowly. Makes me wonder if I am the opposite of the average booktuber. I am sick of people saying I should read a book cause the author is a certain race or sex or sexual orientation or identity. We have it good for a number of reasons, one is that we can avoid weaponizing our government to go after political opponents, well we did until recently. Also, look at the damage and destruction the Biden/Harris administration did. They repealed 90 executive orders issued by prior presidents to open the border. Even though Biden barely won and the House and Senate were at 50/50, Harris cast the tie breaking vote in the Senate to hike spending massively causing this inflation. Usually in America if you do not have a mandate you do not try to jam, things through the system, but Biden/Harris did. The democrats took a 50% +1 majority and decided they were going to run roughshod over the other half of the nation.
