Watching IT (2017) for the first time | was this even about clowns?
I never really cared for clowns but I wouldn't say I was scared of them. That is until the trailer for It (2017). Having seen it now, I still wouldn't say I find clowns scary but this movie includes some of the most disgusting scenes I've ever scene.
Thanks for watching!♥

I finally gave in and watched the one movie I have been avoiding since I started watching horror. Alien 1976 is one of the most terrifying videos that I have reacted to. I am definitely not a screamer but this movie made me screech... The fact that I had to rewatch this to edit it was the worst part because I couldn’t look away. The origin of the first HALLOWEEN movie began when Irwin Yablans, an indie movie distributor, said he wanted to release a movie about Babysitter Murders. That simple premise was his idea -- something scary with young actors. John Carpenter got the job, co-writing a script with Debra Hill, and they created Michael Myers and Laurie Strode, etc., and set the story at Halloween. Yablans loved that Halloween had never been used as a movie title before. "Dr. Loomis" was named after a character in PSYCHO (1960). John Carpenter's next job was directing Kurt Russell as ELVIS (1979) for Dick Clark Productions on ABC-TV.

Somebody should make a horror film without any actual horror. Just the ominous crescendoing music up to tense moments, where the tension unwinds without any violence. _Monty Python and the Holy Grail_ is the only movie that comes to mind as doing something so subversive, though, and few people seem to appreciate its subversive facet.

According to Wikipedia, the U.S.S Indianapolis was sunk near the end of WW2 delivering parts for atom bomb. Out of 1197 crew, 300 went down with the ship while the remainder waited five days before being rescued. Only 316 men survived, the rest (some dying from dehydration, salt water poisoning and shark attacks. It's unclear how many were actually taken by sharks.

Both the “Jaws” novel and the movie were inspired by a series of deadly shark attacks along the Jersey shore over a short period of time, resulting in multiple fatalities, all of which were caused by a single rogue bull shark. In short, incidents like those portrayed in Jaws do indeed take place in real life. Check the shark attack records for Florida, Australia, and California for more evidence.

There is a good example of foreshadowing in this movie when Chief Brody is looking through books about sharks, researching the subject, while thumbing through the books, he comes across a photo of a giant shark with a compressed air tank from a diver in its mouth. Of course, this comes full circle at the end of the movie when Brody destroys the shark by shooting the compressed air tank in its jaws. I am always surprised that no one ever points that out; it seems like such an obvious oversight to me…

Also, the scene when they are examining Ben Gardner’s beat-up fishing boat, and Hooper pulls a shark tooth the size of a shot glass out of the hole in the hull -- just as Ben Gardner’s mutilated head suddenly appears -- is one of the greatest jump-scares of all time!

Remarkably, Quint’s speech about the sinking of the USS Indianapolis is a historical fact. It really happened! His vivid description of the tragedy that resulted is one of the most epic monologues in cinematic history, and is the key to his character and his obsession with killing sharks. He smashed the radio not only because he wanted to secure the bounty and reward for killing the Great White, which is strictly a secondary consideration for him, but rather because he wanted revenge - or perhaps personal redemption - for his horrific experience, which he can only achieve by killing the man-eating shark himself.

Never apologize for loving the music in this movie. 40 plus years later and i still listen to this soundtrack on occasion. Is he stretching? 🤣🤣🤣🤣, maybe he was, that's gotta be a strain on the neck and shoulders lifting someone and holding them in place for a stickin' has to work some muscle groups. Homie had long night ahead of him, gotta limber up for that kind of work. "I saw the shadow," funny you put it that way, you almost got the name they gave him in the credits. "the shape," such a perfect descriptor of an unstoppable evil like Mikey.

Scream is a masterpiece. If you watch it again, play close attention to the music. When Ghostface is doing his thing, the music that's being played is the old time Universal Monster Movie music. Also, when Billy and Sid are talking about the edited version of The Exorcist, and kissing on the bed, the music that's playing is "Don't Fear the Reaper" foreshadowing Billy is the killer, or one of them.
