The Aircraft factory in the brasilian city of Santa Luzia, known as the Fábrica Nacional de Aviões (FNA), can be seen as a precursor to Embraer in the sense that it was one of Brazil's earliest attempts to establish an aviation industry. Founded in the 1940s, this factory in Minas Gerais produced light aircraft and trainers, such as the Paulistinha, which was widely used for pilot instruction. Although the FNA didn't achieve the same success and longevity as Embraer, it played a role in laying the groundwork for Brazil's aeronautical engineering development, helping to train skilled workers and generating interest in the sector. This industrial effort was crucial in creating the environment that eventually led to the founding of Embraer in 1969. There was a significant transfer of skilled labor from the Fábrica Nacional de Aviões (FNA) in Santa Luzia, Minas Gerais, to São Bernardo do Campo, São Paulo, during the 1950s. This occurred when the Brazilian government decided to centralize aircraft production at the new Fábrica do Galeão, a larger industrial unit in Rio de Janeiro, and at the Centro Técnico de Aeronáutica (CTA) in São José dos Campos, which had been established in 1946. As part of this reorganization, many technicians and engineers from Santa Luzia were relocated to São Bernardo do Campo, where the Indústria Aeronáutica de São Paulo (IASP) began operations. Later, the aerospace hub in São José dos Campos, where Embraer was founded in 1969, inherited much of this technical expertise. This transfer was crucial for the development of the national aviation industry, as the accumulated technical knowledge eventually contributed to Embraer's success.

It is very sad to see this great aerospace company in Brazil manufacturing so many technological aircraft, but Brazil does not even care about space exploration, with the president himself saying that this is a lot of money and time wasted to be used with technologies... I would like to know how people like this govern mega giant countries.

There is an other important aeronautic engineer who gave valuable contribution to creation of EMBRAER. He is (Brigadeiro) Paulo Victor.

Western countries and shockingly even Brazil themselves have this rut mentality that Brazil is a third world country. Closer to the truth, Brazil is actually a very large and powerful country, with much natural resources which in this case , must include human resources, and it is not infected with the wrong religion. If the country been exposed to anything that resemble half decent management, it will go far in another 1/2 century. Ozires Silva got his company started when the aviation industry were in its infancy, now it would be far more difficult and much more red tape. But still, given the will, know how and gov . backing, I seen companies that went from nothing to the world's 10 th largest in 1/4 century.................TSMC. If Silva and Morris Chang did not pulled it off, I would have thought they were up against mission impossible.

Awesome video. Just a tip, we don't pronounce 'j' as 'h', like "San Hosé dos Campos" which is usual in Castilian accents. 'J' here has a sound more similar to that of English, it is equal to the 'j' sound in French. Nice storytelling anyways, neither i knew that and i'm Brazilian.

“Billionaires” don’t own Phenom 300’s…they own Gulfstreams and Globals. However, the 300 is the workhorse plane of NetJets. It’s the smallest plane in the NetJets fleet but they’ve purchased over 200 of them (100 originally then another hundred being produced and delivered now as of 2024). I’ve been on a 300 a few times…great little plane for smaller hops (roughly 2000 mile range). Seats 6 comfortably.

And ITA still is one of the best schools in Brazil

Thank you Hoka for coming out max cushion shoe. I have been using the brand since 2015 when their design still ugly and durability still terrible. But I love its comfy and makes my feet and joint happy and brings me to run further. Back then, everyone was crazy over minimalist shoes. I tried to follow the trend but i always injured my calf so i decide to go for cushy shoes and saw on the internet, running warehouse from US, the brand call Hoka. I gave it a try and falling in love with it.

Worked there for 7 years. I lived the rollout of first ERJ 170. The company is amazing. On the other hand, in the multirole UAV / DRONES industry, another entirely Brazilian company, XMOBOTS, produces several of the best (non-war) aircraft in the world. Exporting to several countries. They manufacture all the most complex parts of the aircraft, locally, such as the flight system (autopilot), employing hundreds of people.
