    Plain stupid. Eggs are the best value of protein and have been since memory serves me. Reconstructing our diets is more to the point. Boo hoo on the price of eggs think about alternatives and use eggs as main course proteins or mixed with about anything to make a special meal.

    • @latebloomer7191
      @latebloomer7191 4 дня назад

      You couldn't be more incorrect about that. Eggs are one of the healthiest proteins you can eat. No grain measures up. Not even close. And egg-laying is a natural process for chickens. Eggs are a complete protein, so it meets the entire protein profile. Cholesterol is brain food. And the whites are packed with the building blocks of collagen - great for your skin, hair, bones, lean muscle and connective tissues (cooking makes it available, so not raw). As long as you're not cooking them to death or in margarine/Crisco, they are one of the best foods you can eat.

    My family had a house there, so I kind of grew up there, on lake Nokomis.I actually used to cut school on Fridays, telling my parents I was staying at a friends house, He would tell his parent the same. We would drive there from near Denver and stay the weekend. It is my favorite place in the world. The gnome village started when people just started hiding gnomes there. And it grew and grew. There is a hidden geocache in the gnome village also. Kinda tough to find. It's a wonderful place that I do really miss and think about all the time.

    I think you mentioned plans to have an AC unit as a backup for temperature regulation. Have you looked into geothermal as an option? Digging the trenches by shovel would be really labor intensive, but if you could rent a backhoe or something it seems like you could install the pipes yourself, and get the same temperature for less electricity.

    • @Christenhelm
      @Christenhelm 7 месяцев назад

      We’ve researched that & noticed that the folks over at Our self reliant life (Green dream project) are starting a similar project, but what we have heard while researching is that geothermal doesn’t do well with the hot desert environment unless you dig reaaallly deep, but we’re keeping an eye out to see their progress. Our plan would be to bring in a large enough solar system to run a split unit ac/heat pump.

I believe all of the people who have RUclips channels in Cochise get together to help each other and for fun now and then also. And they all know the best deals for suppliers. Enjoy creating a place to thrive, not just survive 👍. Plant trees for shade this fall ASAP. Top priority. That I only figured out recently. DUH. Morengos are perennial, but in your zone might be annuals and may die every year, but they are are really fast growing from seeds, and will provide you with a lot of mulch. Desert Willows are good, but have to baby them the first few years, protecting from the sun and frosts. I use old T-shirts. I was supposed to have a man in my life to do this with me back when I bought mine in 2001. But that never manifested! Instead I ended up with 6 dogs now.
