Yamaha Inviter - One Last Chance?
Since the parts to rebuild this pump are completely unobtanium, I have nothing to lose. Will these "redneck" ideas work? This may be the last chance for this snowmobile.

    Make sure you bleed the air out of the coolant system or you'll melt it again. Bleeder is in rear tool box. Bleeds heat exchangers.

    Howdy, I cant tell you how, but I have heard of people converting these to an electric water pump from a car. Maybe some googling will net some info for you.

    • @NJP76
      @NJP76 10 дней назад

      Hey, that is a brilliant idea. I never thought about an electric pump. That could actually work, as long as the electrical system is up to it. Plumbing it in could be a little tricky, but if it means saving that sled it would be worth it. Thank you fer the heads up. It is worth at least looking into.

It isn't as fast as the Indy, but the fun factor is off the chart. Love this thing! I did find some issues with it though. Trying to get them sorted out so just in case we actually do have a winter this year it will (hopefully) be ready. BTW, I do have a playlist devoted to this machine, including a little riding footage, if interested. Thanks fer jumping in and commenting.

    Awesome! Thanks for the inspiration. The 2x3 panel that i had set up some track on isnt necessarily the size of the layout that i have planned, but this definitely shows that theres just enough space in 2x3 to have some grwat fun. I have these panels that i made a while back, for another purpose... and just have am extra one. 2 of them fit into a table that I made for my hobby room, its 3x4 ft and used for various things including so.e tabletop games. I may build a panel 3x4 to fit that table, or maybe build something on a hollow door that will fit on top of that table or have its own removable legs. Im still figuring that part out. Id like to have a main line that a road engine can make laps around while the NW2 switcher I picked up does the local service for some sidings... i will probably arrange the sidings into an inglenook in one section, and I'm not sure what else exactly... this way i can do puzzles and make up 5 car blocks to then trade out a 5 car block with another block from the road engine's train, send them on laps again while doing more puzzles with a different set of cars, etc... ? Just a thought... but I'm excited to do this portable project this winter amd see where it goes. I eventually plan to build a layout around the walls of my hobby room, but had started planning amd collecting some HO stuff, and this project will help me decide if that will end up being N scale instead. Cheers, hope to see some more railroad videos pop up on your channel ...

      @NJP76 Месяц назад

      Sorry for the late reply. Glad this helped inspire you in your model RR projects. Indeed I have been having a lot of fun with this little layout....that is when I have the time. Many years ago, I had a 3X4 foot layout that was the base for what became a larger model railroad. That 3x4 foot was the birthplace of the ACS (Algoma Cassville System). In fact, all of these years later, the ACS is alive and well, at least in "lore". Actually, Hammer Valley is part of the ACS. I made a little reference to it in this video. Believe it or not, I can actually do an Inglenook puzzle on this layout. Would be using the industrial siding, the runaround track, and the mainline. True those tracks are not dead ended, but I can install temporary end stops where needed to keep in the spirit of the Inglenook. I also have a tiny 8 inch by 3 foot testing layout that works perfectly for switching puzzles. I have run the Inglenook on that one and it can be a bit...challenging. I will have to dig around and see if I can find some pix of the original ACS as it was in 1988 (when it was built). Meantime, I need to take some time and work on the Hammer Valley. I have part of it tore up right now. Putting in servos to operate some of the turnouts. Turned into a bigger project than I had anticipated. Sadly, no videos of that project so far. Thinking about filming next time I get in there to work on it. I have lots of ideas, but not so much time to do anything with them. Thanks fer the comment, and again, sorry for the late reply.

  • @AJNpa80
    @AJNpa80 8 месяцев назад

    Watched your video yesterday deciding whether to measure and order a saddle replacement, my intonation wasn't too off, and it being angled I decided to wait, I sanded the bottom of mine with sharp black 320 wet stuck to a smooth block, sanded 1.5 to 2 off then sanded up to 1500 grit so it would be as smooth as it was. It brought it from touching the 3.5 mark on the rocker gauge down to centered a hair above 2 on the upper frets on low E. Much closer and I'd be pushing it on high E. Anyways I also swapped in a set of D'Addario silk and steel Lights and slightly backed off the truss rod, Allen key was at 2 o'clock looking straight down headstock and I backed it off to about 11 o clock due to lighter strings and it seemed to have high relief. I'm a newb so baby steps. Seemed to work. No buzzing after several stretch and tunes. Notes are correct on 12 if I tune open notes to the first showing of green on my snark. Sounds correct but I'm no savant.

    • @AJNpa80
      @AJNpa80 8 месяцев назад

      I was super happy with the silk and steel strings though. They're a little less brassy And zingy, I can still pluck a sharp enough sound where I want. It plays a lot easier and I'm hoping it'll make the lady want to pick it up more, I've been encouraging her to learn with me. Barring on the first fret requires significantly less effort. Though this sort of thing doesn't influence my opinions, I swear, some might prefer the silken steel just because of how it looks on a black carbon fiber guitar. Other than the white saddle everything is either black or silver.

    • @NJP76
      @NJP76 8 месяцев назад

      Great comment. Thank you. Lots of good info here, so I decided to pin it. As the setup worked in and with tiny adjustments to the truss rod, the intonation issue at the 12th is pretty much gone. The strobe tuner still shows it very slightly sharp on the B and high E strings, but you really have to listen for it. So I think I am going to leave the truss rod where it is for now. I gotta say this little guitar is a definite keeper...even with my fat fingers, LOL. I think I might give those Silk and Steel strings a go someday. Sounds like they work well with the NovaGo. Worth a try anyway. I have actually been entertaining trying an ebony saddle someday. Could be an interesting experiment. Thanks again for the great comment. Keep on playing.

      Man, that little Yamaha is an absolute blast! It might not break any speed records, but man it is totally fun to drive! I love this little sled.

      @@1953fords I sure do. Man this sled is a hoot. I don't regret picking this little gem up. Only issue is a slight leak around the coolant pump. But the engine doesn't get hot, so apparently it is working. Still, I want to check that out and give it some love.

      @@IzaakOdegard No need to work on it now that our week of winter is over. Going to just park the sleds for the year. 😔 Will try to stop at the shop on Saturday though.
